I am planning a trip to the Philippines next year from the USA. How is February weather? I have about 10 days. I plan on flying into Manila then take a flight to Cebu for 4 days, then perhaps Coron and Boracay. Wondering if perhaps that is not enough time to fit 3 stops. What is your advice? How would I get from Cebu to the other islands? Thanks.
I think it's not enough time. I'll think you'll be too rushed and won't enjoy your holiday as much. It's tempting to do much as possible- as the saying goes less is more. I could easy do 10 days just in Cebu. Maybe do 2, fly to Cebu, then fly from Cebu to Boracay. Stay there and then fly back to Manila and home. Feb weather is ok.
Finding Paradise Very sound advice! I’m sure I can fly from Mania to Cebu, then Cebu to Boracay and then Boracay to Manila. Do you recommend getting a vacation home rental or hotel? Thanks,
Yes you can fly all those direct. You don't fly into Boracay directly but it's really close. I travel solo, so hotels work best for me. That may or may not be the best way for your travel needs.
Thank you for putting this video up, it's been very helpful. So a question, other than the Abacca, are there any other small places we should look at ?
Unfortunately Abaca has just closed permanently at the end of March. I did a video a month ago on this in my channel. I personally don't know of a equivalent type of resort (on Mactan) myself, you may have to google it. I only know of the bigger resorts.
Yes it's a bummer. They are going to build a new (upmarket) hotel there. From what they were telling me i it sounds good. But it won't be this boutique resort that it was.
Plantation Bay is ok ,but I feel that the hotel beach resort needs a huge refurbishing & their furnishings are quite out of date. Competition in Cebu beach resorts are high priority among foreign tourists.
I'm not a scuba diver, so I'm not the best person to ask. Shangri la has their own dive shop Scottys (divescotty.com), they should help. What I do know divers don't really come to Mactan to dive. They head to Moalboal, Malapascua and even Bohol.
It's really just on Mactan Island. If you go to places like Bantayan, Malapascua, the Camotes and other parts of Cebu's province you'll find some beautiful natural beaches.
all beaches in mactan including these are inferior compared to bantayan, alona and boracay simply because of the walls constructed every few meters to separate one greedy property from another.
If you're looking for a high-end western standard resort, then Plantation Bay is definitely not one of them. We've stayed there last year around April and I have to say that although it's very beautiful, it needs a lot of overhauling and renovation. The rooms at Plantation have had its glorious days in the past. The rooms are spacious and their flooring/ bathrooms are made of marble. The service is impeccable and the staff are so professional. They have calesas, golf carts, archery, bikes, kayaks/ stand-up paddle boards and rock climbing. Great activities for families. Now why don't I consider it to be the best? 1. The rooms are showing their age. The interior shouts 1990's era. 2. The pools are pretty old too. In as much as they want to recreate a "lagoon" feel, the concrete flooring are slightly slippery and some parts have cracks. Try spending an hour in the pool and you'll notice the cracks and tiny abrasions on your toes and soles. A tiled lagoon would've been nicer... Thailand has resorts that mimic a lagoon but theirs are waaay better. 3. The beach is full of corals. You can't walk barefooted there at all. 4. There are mosquitoes everywhere at their restaurant. A few mozzie-zapper would help control these pests. Having mentioned the reasons why I don't think Rob included this resort in the top 5, without batting an eyelash, I'd still stay at Plantation Bay. The benefits outweigh the cons I've mentioned. This is the only resort that has tons of activities. I don't mind the old 90s look.
God bless us I like it very beautiful. Please be connected my prayer request to give me a brand new mansion house, resort, coz I want to experience also a good life. Very nice to stay in a nice and relaxing place together my family, friends and relatives. In God all things are possible po. Thank you so much po.

feb. best time to go..... 🌴👍
please visit amanpulo island in palawan the best 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hi Robert, do you think it's feasible to open a high end restaurant in Bohol at this time or Cebu City is still the best location?
You'll get the tourist market if your on/near Alona Beach. Cebu City is more developed city area.
@@FindingParadise Thank you

@@FindingParadise Well darn, that was on my short list, thanks for the quick reply.

Thanks, have you stayed at any?

You missed Planation Bay!
I left Plantation out on purpose. I did a full review of Plantation Bay in my channel and you'll see why.

Where is the best place to scuba dive when staying at Shangri La?
I'm not a scuba diver, so I'm not the best person to ask. Shangri la has their own dive shop Scottys (divescotty.com), they should help. What I do know divers don't really come to Mactan to dive. They head to Moalboal, Malapascua and even Bohol.
your right the beaches in mactan are quite poor , I rented an apartment called amisa , very nice but also no services and its very secluded location
Where on Mactan is that?
Finding Paradise punta engano just past shangri la
captain Spaulding bayot!
Amisa Residences is a condominium. It is not a beach resort.
Which beaches are not man made in Cebu ?

It can be greedy property but the real reason is to make the guest feel relax from the stressful life in the city.
i live in mactan
Have you stayed at any of these Resorts?
Finding Paradise jpark
