9:45 contains 2 artificial sweeteners: yellow sweetener - sucralose (commonly sold under the brand name Splenda) and blue sweetener- acesulfame potassium ( commonly sold under the brand name Sweet One), and no stevia. You might consider experimenting with CMC (Carboxymethyl cellulose), it makes sugar free ice cream work, so it probably works with slushies as well.
FINALLY!! THANK YOU! Put off the purchase of the Ninja while testing various allulose options (huge fan of allullose) and BINGO! This is flippin' awesome!! GREAT JOB!!!
@@JoesPhenomenal ..lol sorry I'm the channel administrator for Carey - must've been in the other profile. The Ninja Slushie is absolutely awesome, easy to clean and works sooooo well. I've made so much with it!
I absolutely LOVE slushies to the point that a couple years ago I would get one every single day until it started to become detrimental to my health with all of that sugar (who didn’t see that coming😅). So, to prioritize my health I had to cut them out of my diet. When this machine came out I immediately thought “AHHH DIET COKE SLUSHIE!!!” Until I saw that Ninja said the liquid needed to have sugar 😔. But, then I saw this video. Thank you so much for providing an alternative and proving them wrong!!! You have created a solution to add a bit of joy back into my diet while still allowing me to stay “on track” with my health.
Heeeyy... Thanks! That made my day. I'm right there with ya. I had to go through some pretty major weight loss, so these days I'm way sensitive to getting too much sugar in my diet as well.
Thank you for this video! I've seen zero-sugar slush syrup that can be ordered from Italy, but I've not seen it available in the US. Plus I just got back from Australia where they have Coke Zero slushies at McDonald's. That again got me thinking about how I could do this at home with my slush machine. Plan on running at least one of your recipes in my 3-head machine for a Halloween party next weekend.
This video makes me think that I will consider buying one. I think Minute Maid makes the best Diet Lemonade. Also would consider using tara gum, if necessary, to thicken up these concoctions, since it takes a much smaller amount to thicken products. See Steve's serious keto channel on using the Ninja Creami with tara gum.
Can you explain a little bit more about what is Allulose Sweetener? Are there any downsides to using it? I am a diabetic as well as have a tendency to have GI issues when I use things like Swerve.
The good thing about allulose is that it crystalized the same way sugar does, so you can use it for slushies like this and it still works. Most sugar substitutes won't do that. On the bad side, like a lot of sugar subs, it can cause stomach issues. I personally have never had any problems with Monk Fruit, or Ethrytol, or Stevia, but the Allulose does definitely put me in the outhouse. Since you have issues with that, if you make s slushi with it, i'd just sample a little tiny bit first and see if it gives you any trouble to be safe.
@@JoesPhenomenalCame here to say the GI issues with allulose are real for some of us. Would really like to see some experiments mixing zero sugar and sugared sodas to see how low you can get them and still have them slush and taste good. Even cutting the sugar in half would be a huge win!
@@SkyMogul Yeah... I don't even have GI issues, but Allulose can get me. I like the idea of mixing sodas. Gonna try that. If it works out, I'll give you credit in the video.
Allulose is good stuff. That's what I use when I make ice cream in my Ninja Creami. Wholesome makes a liquid Allulose and to me it tastes like honey. So might want to try making a Slushi with that to see what you get.
@nancygant9156 oh.. I have no idea about that. The EU bans a lot of that stuff through. I've never seen anything that warrants that, but I suppose that depends on who ya talk to.
@JoesPhenomenal maybe it all comes down to moderation. If you ingest lbs and lbs of any of the sugar substitutes, studies show that is to the detriment of your health. Maybe moderate is fine.
The stevia didn't work well for me in this machine. That's why I ended ip with the allulose. Will have to try it with a bunch of sugar subs and see if I can get anything to work well other than the allulose.
@@JoesPhenomenal I use the one in the red bag and white bag. Lakanto I think is red not sure what brand the white one is. Has a picture of powder donuts on it 😂
That will work. The allulose in the coke zero slushi didn't sweeten it up too bad though since slushies can be sweeter. The lime juice is a great fix though. Now we just gotta keep it more carbonated.
So I think a cool follow-up would be talking about how other dedicated slushie machines are able to make sugar free slushies without allulose since everyone makes such a big deal about the ninja
Commercial machines use stuff like the Jolly Rancher mix that has no sugar, but it's loaded with a lot if stuff that adds calories like glicerin.. The gums help too.. Lots of science behind those. That's a great idea to delve into that more though. Will look into that!
