I hope this continues. It's hard to lose that brilliant first opening that really seemed to define the series, but this one with its simple "dan dan dadadan" makes you not feel the loss much like they're all so tailor-made for this show
The parts with Okarun’s POV seeing only color through his glasses is an amazing touch.

We see from Ken's perspective the first time he saw Momo, it's so cute.
Everything outside his frames is blurry too, something a lot of people miss. Folks wearing glasses have a limited field of clear vision.

I really love how Okarun's POV is colorless and slow, but becomes the opposite whenever Momo is on it. Damn, this intro goes crazy like the first one, but for different reasons and I love it.

The first opening raised the bar so high and this comes veeery close to meeting it. Just a different vibe which matches better with this arc. One of the most fun shows airing atm, who knew a guy searching for his balls would turn into such a gem of a show.

def look up the whole song with lyrics. the first half, which is whats in the opening, is all about the singer having their dark, dreary world filled with light and color due to finding love.
the second half is the singer desperately wanting to explore their newfound love but being too scared to open up and be vulnerable
its really a first half is okarun, second is momo, kinda thing.

The directors have absolutely nailed the colors, pacing, music, everything about this anime is just god tier. And of course, the writing is also phenomenal and one of a kind.

Besides the red, since that’s turbo granny’s color. I know that some colors could be reused for enemy sake but some colors feels too synonymous (red=TG, pink =AS, EE = purple).

The Japanese LOVE jazz, and its been infused into a lot of their music from pretty early on. They're really great at putting those jazzy funk elements into some dance pop and its an incredible mix.

I'd say that it's rather unlikely, Imaishi, as crazy as he is, doesn't really make his characters look *this* angular and rugged, his drawings are usually more detailed and the animation is somehow even more timing-dependent. The final scene of them running through the dark tunnel also seems unlike him, I bet he'd include some gorgeous wakame shadows as he does often. As for who animated that, I think it was the same animator who did the final sequence in episode 9, the one where Okarun, Momo and Aira run away naked, the drawings seem matching.
Props to knowing animators, but it really doesn't look like something he'd animate. It's done by Shuuto Enomoto, who storyboarded and animated a lot on episode 7 of season 1
