For the fingerstyle part with Coen's lighter touch I clearly preferred the Reimagined. But for strumming and a heavier touch the Adirondack brings more headroom, power and body.
Happy 20th birthday guys! Great work. What would I like to see? Ok, exactly this- I'd like to see direct comparisons with Martin dreads and Faith Guitar dreads (Rosewood and Mahogany B&Sides). So, expensive v inexpensive. Ditto different body shapes, expensive/inexpensive. So we can see what we're getting for the money.
Great comparison! Side by side, the Adirondack was maybe a bit crisper to my ear. If not side by side, I'd probably never be able to tell the difference.
I liked both of these, and I had to listen on headphones to hear the difference between these two D-28 models. For 600 less Euro, I'd probably take the Sitka topped D-28 as I liked it's tone. But, I don't lack for Adi topped Martin Dreads here at the house. I own a CS-Bluegrass-2016, and a D-18 Authentic 1939 Aged. Great video to celebrate your 20th Anniversary.
Yea I would say the Adi spruce hands down has more power to it and get up. Anyone that doesn’t hear that is have to question their reasoning. Is it because they don’t have an Adi top guitar or what? If I can save enough money up I’m going to get me one of those HD 28 Addies.
@@ericouicestmoimeme is the slot already there for the button or exactly what do you mean? Do I have to go drilling the hole for the button? If so yikes
Nice idea!!! I prefer the sound of Adirondack in general. Rounder, more in the bass and treble. Everything I like ;) I've never been a fan of the very pronounced Martin mediums. For this, I have always preferred big Gibson, I don't very like small guitars (000). Here, the Adirondack seems to erase these mediums a bit. I really like.
@@el34glo59 That's the first time I've read that ;) On the contrary, the Martins have very pronounced mids. Even on their Dreadnoughts. Just compare an HD28 to a Hummingbird (despite being designed with woods that bring out the midrange) or, worse, to an SJ200. This is also why Martins generally sound louder than Gibsons. I've had 4 of them, including a J40 and an HD28V, logically designed to favour low frequencies. Their mediums were much more pronounced than on my Gibsons. It's very personal, but I prefer the V signature of Gibson guitars. That's one of the reasons why I like my SJ200TV so much. I've never found that sound anywhere else. Even with rival brands that have stolen the design and the woods.
Adi seemed a tad brighter and the Reimagined almost seemed to have a touch more bottom end to my ears. Cool comparison. They say Adis open up over the years and Im experiencing that with my Yairi right now (which is Adi topped).

Hello guys , in my opinion , the reimagined sounds way better than the adi 20th one… I would pick it without any hesitation ! Thanks for the review.
I would NOT say way better , but I agree it did sound better . I'd a chose the re-imagined to .

Thanks! Good one, sadly we don't have Faith in stock...

Oof, I remember having one of those CS Bluegrass'. That guitar packed a punch! Thanks for commenting :)
Is it possible to make the same video with the om28 (sitka vs adi)???
Possible for sure! If we still have an Adi OM28 that is ;)
Can you do a battle between the sitka and adi 000-18?
If we can, yes!

Agreed. And anyone saying Addy isn't warm is also wrong. Give it a year or so.
Great playing cool speck great idea.
Thanks Ryan!
Anyone notice neither guitars have a strap button ?
Yes. These guitars are new, unused. The strap buttom comes with the guitar. It's up to you to insert it!
Eric is exactly right! :)

@@R.L.Humpert Yes ! A hole is already drilled. All you have to do is insert the piece of plastic that comes with the guitar.

Both are sounding very Good! ... and great to know: Martin wants a Martin ... :) ...
Well done boys!
Haha, yes he does! :p

True! Adirondack can open up quite a bit over time. Enjoy your guitar!🎸
Take your time with Adirondack!. Sometimes it takes some years, but then you blow the Sitkapspruce away! Customshop or not......
Exactly, it needs to loosen up!
The adirondack (to me) sounds earthier, dryer, wilder (a bit like Australian bunya).
Yes
sitka has a voice, addy has a choir
Nicely put Bill! Sometimes you need a choir, sometimes you just want a voice ;)
0:27 Adirondack
1:09 Sitka
Sitka for me all day long. I’m biased from gigging my Sitka 1999 HD-28 for the last 23 years, but In this back to back the Sitka has more ‘tone’.
The Sitka sounds bassier to me
Adi top would open up more after 3 years or so
ADIRONDACK IS GENERAL END OF STORY!
General Adirondack! 🫡
I think the same player must play both guitars
We do in the newer video's :)
Addy
What are you playing man? I cannot hear your guitar sound.
You guys need to be more enthusiastic
Gotta live up to that TikTok life
