Love how many things have a dual purpose and that you have a cubby hole for each of your items. Extremely well planned. There is a lot to think about when you travel and l know l am constantly changing things up. It's a true art to know what you absolutely need compared to what you do absolutely need, and you have got this down, Pat! Love your van design, an inspiration to all venturers. 😊
Thanks so much Lee, the dual purpose thing is so handy in such a small space
Love love love your van. Your van design is the best I have seen. It just makes sense. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks so much! It has worked so well for us on our three year trip around the country,
I'm laughing because i just commented on a previous video about maxxfans - and then I see you've got 2 of the buggas! Hahaha! I'd love to have 2. Your van is beautiful. Cheers from Waiheke island 😄
It’s all good! And yes the Maxx Fans are the best!
Awesome build.
Thanks! It’s been an amazing home for us
Really nice set up guys & very well thought out for storage of everything & anything
Thanks so much Michelle! It has been a beautiful home for sure.
Wonderful design! I'm with you on the bathroom. I wouldn't have a camper without one.
I totally agree, especially living in it for such a long time. Thanks for watching
Awesome setup!
Thanks! It’s been a great home for us!
Beautiful van
Thank you!! We love it 😍
This is deluxe! Thanks for this tour.
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching!
Very nice … happy travels ❤
Thanks for visiting
Great setup . Very practical ,best i have seen no wasted space anywhere . Thanks for the tour.
Glad you liked it, thanks for watching
Nice build!!! Cozy and a great use of space 😊! Happy travels!
Thank you! 😊 Its been a great functional home on wheels. We've loved it!
You guys have a fantastic set up. I love it. So much thought has been put in to everything. Thanks for the tour. All the little bits and bobs that are great ideas.
Thanks!! Glad you enjoyed it.
What a fantastic design! You seem to have thought of everything. :)
Thanks so much Julie. It's been a wonderful home for us
You guys probably built a much better van than the professionals would ever do and the full bathroom is definitely worth the room it takes up, which really is very little.
Real professional job and because of you two I'm thinking of selling up and because I'm too lazy, buying a van and travelling around. If I ever get that far, that's another question, but you two certainly set me thinking about it.
GEOFFO!! You should totally do it! We can run parallel when we get there haha 😆
Great tour, and as I've said before, I love your van design. You've included pretty much everything I have wanted in a van. Great job. A custom van like yours is so much better than the commercial ones in Australia at least. Much more cosy, homely, and beautiful. You've done a great job with it. 🤗😍
Thanks so much Lynne, it worked so well for us!
What an amazing use of space. You must have put an enormous amount of planning into that build.
Thanks guys! We certainly watched a great many van tour videos to get ideas!
Great tour! Your van is a really similar layout to ours. You’ve finished it well and it’s clearly a thoughtful, practical and attractive space. Good build 😀
Thanks guys! It’s a super practical layout isn’t it?
Good one
Cheers David
Thanks for the inspiring experience.
Seeing how you have built your home gives me more ideas for my next project.
When I choose and rearrange my life!
Life from normal framework and converted to 100 percent Vanlife.
Thank you 😉
Best regards from Lars in Denmark (Scandinavia)
Thanks Lars! Its a very rewarding project for sure. We hope to visit Denmark again soon.

I really really love your layout. It’s just so functional. I’m getting a class C now but I think I’ll eventually get a van after I fully retire and wanna do more boondocking. If I do I’ll want a similar layout.
We thought long and hard and did lots of research (AKA watched lots of RUclips Van Tours) to work out how it works for us. This had been a great layout and we would totally copy it if we were to ever build a van again. Thanks for watching.
Greetings from Bonnie Scotland 🏴 👌.love your van I’ve just got a lwb high top Mercedes sprinter.got myself the livinginabubble midge nets for the side door and driver/passenger windows gonna get the blackout screens next.it’s a blank canvas, been fully insulated with electrics and roof vent.but looking forward to doing it up to suit my requirements.I’m originally from Palmerston Place Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺👌left when I was a 6 year old nipper would love to return one day 👍.✊🙏❤️👌👊
They are such great products!! Make sure you use our code nas_adventures for your discount!!
Well thought out and comfy looking. "Interesting" my wife said.
Thanks! Are you trying to talk your wife into Vans Life?
@@nigelandsueadventures We have been living in a caravan for 18 months now, but not on the road. We've had several, including a 17' Evernew that we gutted and re-fitted, a brand new Goldstream RV popup and an old Viscount on-site at Corowa. So she is always on the lookout for ideas, and watches over my shoulder at your (and other) YT videos.
Oh that’s so cool! We could learn from you then. 🧡
Loved your build, I thought the sliding cupboard was ingenious. We also live in our Sprinter but are still new to it, loving the life style. I was wondering how much water you have as I can’t remember you mentioning it.
Thanks for the tour, might see you around the traps sometime ❤
Thanks so much Wendy! 😊. We have a 110 litre tank for our fresh water. Lasts us about 3-4 days usually
Link to conversion list missing a trailing / and doesn't work. BTW that page is incredibly helpful, and this conversion is easily the best we've seen.
Thanks so much for the heads up! I'd put products instead of product! All fixed now, and thanks for the feedback, glad you love our van.
What a dream setup! And its styled so nicely, looks beautiful. Did you do it all yourselves?
Yes, we did it all ourselves. Took us about 6 months
Excellent video I like the way you design the trash can to come out when you open the cabinet. Is the trash can from amazon and if so do you have a link for it?
Hi Rene, it's from Bunnings, which is a large hardware store here. I had a look on Amazon for you but couldn't find anything similar.
Where did you source the pull out wine rack from? Would love to get one for my van.
Do you have a ball park on what the total build and van cost was?
It's a fantasy van because no one is doing any four wheel driving in it besides a flat sandy surface. It's mummies mobile hotel accommodation.
Ummmm... I guess you haven't seen much of our channel! Plenty of off road adventures were had in this van!
@@nigelandsueadventures off road ain't four wheel driving
Thanks for the run down. Great van. You said its 4 wheel drive or is it all wheel drive , does it have low range as well , Diff locks ? Bill Mc
Hi Bill, it’s 4wd with hi and low range, though no diff lock.
Hi sue and Nigel for sharing your beautiful diy well thought camper van. Sue l love your beautiful dress you wore in this blog. I wished you share a link where we can buy it.
Thanks so much. It’s from Vine Apparel, an online store. I got it on sale so I don’t think they have this design anymore. They do have plenty of other designs though.
@@nigelandsueadventures thanks so much i will check it out. I just found your channel and I found it very informative and very inspiring I’m your new subscriber.
@@jacquelinemundt4688 thanks so much! Hope you enjoy the journey.
great set up,nice and compact. how close to your weight limit are you?
Pretty close with all the toys and tools!! We've been on weigh bridges several times and been around 4400 (allowing for full fuel and water tanks). each time (GVM is 4490)
Great Setup. No recovery gear??
We have Maxx Trax and a snatch strap, and we have used both helping other people, we’ve used the Maxx Trax for ourselves twice.
Your van setup is awesome. - well done. Do you have any idea what it cost for the fit out ? (obviously not including your own labour)
Hey Jack, it was about $35k for all the materials and appliances (build done in 2020)
Do you drive along with the inverter on?
Not usually, no.
@@nigelandsueadventures I was wondering how you get 240 volts ⚡️ when you're driving 🚗 along 🤔
Great van build Nige and Sue, Just curious how much, if any, grief did you have getting it approved to make it compliant and insurable? Also, I noticed you're running a pretty small electrical setup (200Ah battery and 370W solar & 2000W converter) and you mentioned you've never needed mains power. Roughly how much was that electrical set up if it is not too confidential please?
Reason I ask is I had budgeted 11K for an EcoFlow Delta Pro + Smart Generator + Extra B300S battery + 450W Flexible solar and now thinking it may be over overkill for one person who just needs their coffe machine, 2 laptops, a 12V tv and an XBox.😁
Hi Dave, ours cost a similar amount, but that was almost 4 years ago. Solar panel technology has come a long way since then too. I think the foldable ones are a great option.
Don't get flexible panels, we had them on our caravan but they were useless, so replaced them with glass solar - much better.
We have Enerdrive solar, 200amp lithium battery, dc-dc and 230v charger and 2000 inverter. All we need. Get quality gear as a package to be matched.
Pretty much the same set up as us Michael! Good to know about the flexible panels though
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thank you 🙏
How long did it take to build out?
Almost 6 months, though a lot of that time was researching and studying at the University of RUclips!!
@@nigelandsueadventures Thanks for the reply
Welcome!
Loooove this tour and how you really went into further detail than the last tour. It really is among the best of designs and it’s clear how much thought has gone into it 💛🚐
Thank you so much!! It really was perfect for us. If we were ever to do a build again, we'd do it just the same.
