I'm pretty smart - 'this is going to be a great video. My Fabricator has been ordered and due in in 3 or 4 days. 'what a hobby - thanks for posting this.
Fantastic video! Very well made and incredibly informative. My Fabricator is due in next week and I am preparing . I'm looking forward to some follow up on your impressions after using it. Thanks!
Nice video! I’m also a DIY dad and I’m looking to move from my 70’s kenmore domestic to an industrial. The fabricator really caught my eye. Have you had a good experience with it since you got it?
I have found it to be a generally great machine. Very powerful and easy to control. I've sewn with a variety of threads and found Tenara type threads to be the hardest, but I think that would be the case regardless of the machine. Tenara is so slick that the machines struggle providing consistent tension, and in addition to that they will leave a filament on the bobbin and other touch surfaces that you have to keep cleaned so the tension remains consistent. I've also sewn with a variety of fabrics and have found it to handle all of them with ease. My only word of warning is if you're sewing something very thick (8+ layers of thick marine vinyl) do not put it in reverse. That is a recipe to deflect the needle enough to hit the bobbin and get the machine out of timing. It's not too hard to fix a timing issue, but it's not really easy either.
