  • In this series we will be visiting real life zoos around the Netherlands and perhaps even beyond! Today we're heading to Dierenrijk Nuenen/Mierlo/Eindhoven, a relatively small, young zoo with the same parent company as the Beekse Bergen, but a very different animal collection!

    Did you see anything you might want to try making in Planet Zoo? If I ever make my own zoo it's definitely getting an "elephant show' area like here :)

    Very fun to watch! Wish there were more zoo tours like these on YT, there aren't much zoo reviewers too..

      Though I haven't watched them myself, I've heard good things about "zoo tours" ruclips.net/channel/UC4JrYvfxstuXjsmR1pa9h8A
      I also go to Bart Brebels' very often for reference and inspiration! ruclips.net/user/BreBart

      @@justGoron Thanks! Those are mostly short compilations or videos of just one habitat sadly. I do know that RidesXL en Davincstyle (more vlogging tho) do some full park tours and reviews sometimes, but it is not their main focus really.

    Loved this episode man! There's quite a few shared habitats that I never heard of, so that's always super cool to see. Hopefully we can visit it together one day :D

      I know right! I felt like a planet zoo guest going "looks t all the different animals in this habitat!" or whatever the quote is lol
      And I hope so too, we're going on a zoo crusade!

    I saw some nice multi-species habitats that could work with some animal mods, especially the one with Indian Rhino, Nilgai, Hog Deer, and the Visayan Warty Pig. What struck me is the number of high-ticket animals in this zoo, while also providing double habitats to separate non-breeding couples, I'd rather seen larger habitats for fewer big species.
    The story with the polar bear is pretty vague though, I am not sure releasing zoo-raised cubs into the wild is that easy (unless they have mom hunt live seal in the habitat :0)

      I'm not sure what the full story is either, but I trust that whoever runs the polar bear breeding program does :)

      zeker een leuke om heen te gaan! Het stond al lang bij mij op de planning, maar het kwam er steeds niet van, ben erg blij er een keer geweest te zijn

    Is dit je nieuwe project on planet zoo?

    • @justGoron
      @justGoron  3 года назад +1

      Nee, in deze serie ga ik gewoon wat willekeurige dierentuinen bezoeken en vastleggen om mensen wat inspiratie te geven, en zelf ook een beter beeld te krijgen van andere dierentuinen. Stel ik begin ooit een ander project, dan heb ik in ieder geval wat meer referentie :)

    It'd be nice if they breed some of these animals and reintroduce them to Europe, I'd specially like asian black bear being reintroduced in eastern europe

    • @justGoron
      @justGoron  3 года назад

      Who knows! It's always a difficult process, as many zoo animals are no longer used to living in the wild

    I’ve found out about this zoo after seeing the viral video of the brown bears attacking a wolf in the same enclosure. Were the wolves and bears still kept together or are they separated now?

    • @justGoron
      @justGoron  3 года назад +1

      They were separated when I was there
