I've always liked 1966 -- 1969 "slab side" Shovelhead engines. I really like the fact that you installed cylinder heads (STD?) with 3 bolt exhaust ports. I hope that engine runs good for a long time. Ride safe.
Me too. It feels like the last of the classic v-twins. I also have a 83 FXR "Cone" Shovel which is a great daily bike. Yes STD heads, though I have not been able to get a hold of STD for some exhaust flanges.....
@@vespam5 - In regard to the tri-bolt exhaust flanges, try contacting a guy named Fabricator Kevin. He makes all kinds of one-off parts for Harley-Davidsons. That 1983 "Cone" Shovelhead is a rarity. Maintain it and don't beat on the bike too much and it'll get you where you need to be for years to come. Ride safe. -- W
Nice
A thing of beauty! Well done. I did the same thing with my 66 Triumph 650 and loved the process.
Hopefully it runs as good as it looks.
