what a great video jon some great fish and to hear you laughing and joking while trying to land them was great it just shows how great a good days fishing makes you feel top man top angler
Proper wake up call, having a 20lb lump yanking your chain first thing. Thing is, it's down hill from there. Until you had lumps, one after another, after another. " things came to mind when watching this. 1st, If this was a John Wilson session, he'd have laughed right off his seat after the first 10 fish. 2nd, I reckon it ws great to go through the day's events to edit this, reliving every moment of a really good day. Note to self. When go to Rolfs, take a big, sturdy landing net, and never fish against Jon... LOL Congratulations mate. hard to believe that's winter fishing.
I always carry extra rubbers......something for the weekend sir? Suit you sir... This vid just shows how reading the water and keeping you eyes and options open pays dividends. Great haul Jon even with the school boy error with the landing net. Very big fish in Rolf's.
Awesome days fishing John proves that in the winter the weird can happen. How on earth you got that 20lb on your net is beyond me..great detail as ever. Good luck on your next adventure 🤞
Nice one. That's why I always wear polarised glasses, even on commercials. Something I learnt from game fishing lads. I believe it gives me an edge to be able to see more of what's going on under the surface. they cut out surface glare, and protect my eyes from the sun, and flying hooks from my wonky casting. The sight of a bit of tail, or a patch of muddy water often leads to bonus fish.
This just popped up on my phone whilst I'm sitting at the wrong end of a lake on 5 skimmers whilst everybody at the other is bagging up on carp. Winter fishing for you. At least I've got time to watch this! Haha
Absolutely awesome. You're going to have to get one of those massive fold-up triangle nets the carp boys use for next time there! Fish a couple of Sundays ago in November and the carp were going mental competing for casters on the surface. Unbelievable.
well done Jon bloody hell you playing that big fish on the pole had me on edge I am just waiting on spine operation made me so on edge had to take more pain killers an when you finally got it in I jump for joy I Remember some year ago fishing at will Raison waters in Aldershot, Hampshire on a match and hooked the same close in on pole float but using waggler rod i was so elated i nearly fell in keep the vidoes going as at this moment it lifts my spirits for getting back out there owe did the mobile phone work your friend caught hahaha
Congratulations Jon on a cracking match win opening the match with a cracking 20Ib 4 oz mirror, all the fish you caught I would say were 10Ib or more apiece apart from the couple of small perch. It was awesome the all in was called then you saw the 3 carp in the margins you put a shallow rig in and the beast nailed your bait, an epic scrap then trying to get it in your landing net, top angling Jon nice one 👍
Blimey Jon what a bag of fish some serious lumps on that soft elastic I went to white acres again this July and fished bolongey I had carp upto 18lb on that 12 to 14 slick I had 392lb in 5hrs lol but like you if I went up a size or 2 i could of smashed 500lb but welldone for nearly 200lb shallow in November absolutely mental 👍👍👍
Great video Jon as always 👍🎣💪💪 Love catching carp on the pole great tip if they try and go under the pallet I’ll defo try that next time. Cheers I’ve switched over to matrix gear now and those carp landing nets are fantastic 😊
What a cracking days finishing on a cold day mate. Would love a chance to fish at Rolfs. Shame you didn’t get a good picture of that monster for us Jon. Love the vids as always👍🏻
Great video Jon, what a start. You definitely need a bigger net for them. Bet if someone had said you'd catch >200lb shallow during that match you'd have laughed at them. Well done another example of staying on feeding fish.🙃🙃🙃
Jon, yours are some of the best edited videos on RUclips. Let's have less fish tanks and more on the proper hard venues I fish - Cherwell, Oxford Canal and Thames in winter.
What a great start. 20Lbs in 1st couple minutes. Like the way you kept telling all it was a 20 pounder. Was it the biggest you ever caught. Given start of the cold part of year it was a really amazing catch. I thought the using of sunglasses was a great tip. Well done for a great result. Cheers.
What a day incredible fishing for November bet you didn't expect anything like that when you sat on your box well done good skills John what was the weight for second and third. Mick Booth (Chloe's Dad)
Hi Jon, They are great wagglers, shame that they don’t have interchangeable colour tips for changing weather conditions!! Come on matrix you know it makes sense !!!!
What is the maximum casting distance for waggler fishing?Pls advice from your own long distance angling experience. P. S. I am gonna feeding with spomb, cobra or other carp fishing tackles)). For fish bite- binocular fishing glasses. 20 gramms cralusso rocket float and 17 ft rod with 10-35 grams test.
Why is there a rule about how shallow you can fish? God just looked on this places site, some of the most ludicrous rules I've ever seen. Well fished Jon.
I am not sure we (16 or more of us) had much more than that in 2 days earlier in the summer when they had issues with oxygen, the red kites provided more entertainment than the fishing. I shall return.
@@JonArthur I enjoyed it. I ended up fishing single maggot or 4mm expander over sprayed micros just to get bites. Definitely going back despite the drive from Somerset.
You best video ever, watched it 4 or 5 times 👍👍👍👏👏👏

Glad you enjoyed it

Bloody brilliant eh. Smashed it. Hope you managed to get yourself a masseuse.
Well angled sir,
Jon, yours are some of the best edited videos on RUclips. Let's have less fish tanks and more on the proper hard venues I fish - Cherwell, Oxford Canal and Thames in winter.
Great match mate, well done. Just shows the importance of not starting with a fixed plan, but adapting on the day depending on what you see.
What a great start. 20Lbs in 1st couple minutes. Like the way you kept telling all it was a 20 pounder. Was it the biggest you ever caught. Given start of the cold part of year it was a really amazing catch. I thought the using of sunglasses was a great tip.

Thanks Peter. My PB is 24lb but it was close!
Loving the videos Jon! keep up the great work !
Well done Jon, looks like you had a great fishing match, how's your arms after the match. And again well done mate. 😀😀😀🎣🎣🎣🐟🐟🐟
🤩 WOW
Glad you enjoyed it!
Well done Jon what a start. Do you just put the band straight onto the hook ?
Is that a U.K record for most weight in a match ? Well done.
They were under my feet last week. I was sitting there with gloves on. It was freezing. November 👍
Oh wow!
Some big old kippers you got there John
Sorry Jon I mean I am John🙄
Amazing haul jon. How do you do it mate. What mainline and hooklength were you using for winter?
What a day incredible fishing for November bet you didn't expect anything like that when you sat on your box well done good skills John what was the weight for second and third. Mick Booth (Chloe's Dad)
Hi Jon, They are great wagglers, shame that they don’t have interchangeable colour tips for changing weather conditions!! Come on matrix you know it makes sense !!!!
Well done. What size landing net are you using?
Jesus christ john whooper! My pb on pole is 12lb. And i was fishing heavy and took ages but you got that in pretty face! 🙂
Great film your arm must ache after catching those monsters.
Matrix my need to develop a bigger landing net just for you Jon 👊
One for pike and 20s lol
Just a thought Jon, when your mate hooked and landed a mobile phone , do you think the angler who lost it was trying to ring the changes ??
Groan! 🤣
Crikey some big chips in some of your sections. Does it affect the performance of the pole?
What is the maximum casting distance for waggler fishing?Pls advice from your own long distance angling experience.
P. S. I am gonna feeding with spomb, cobra or other carp fishing tackles)). For fish bite- binocular fishing glasses. 20 gramms cralusso rocket float and 17 ft rod with 10-35 grams test.
What was 2nd?
what happened to the earlier upload?
Had a strange glitch at the end so had to remaster it
Hello Jon, congratulations, you are hardcore. Can you tell me what size of the new TRI Layer pants are you using and how tall are you?
Number 6

Lovely venue and can be tough at times... but when they are feeding it's amazing!
