Nice that they use recycled plastic for the bubble tea. I love getting it with friends on occasion, but hated the waste it generates. Luckily, Amsterdam now has a zero waste bubble tea shop where they give it to you in glass jars, so I've only went there since finding it. It's called Jackie Cha :)

I heard about that place! I’ll definitely try it when I’m back in the Netherlands 😊😊

When I went to Japan the first thing I got after the plane was Mochi 😂 bad idea cuz I was so hungry & picked a random snack from the vending machine which turned out to be Mochi. 😂 bad first impression, also don’t like consistency

hahahah, oh noooo! I feel like I would love to have mochi first thing off a plane in Japan haha that actually sounds like the dream... but yeah the consistency is quite strange for many people

Do you know any great vegan/vegetarian restaurants around Utrecht?

Ohhh I know tonsss! Waku waku is a nice one but more on the pricy side, Life is a Peach is also nice but more for take away. Gys has quite a few vegan options and i think its fully vegetarian but Im not sure. La Lotta is a pizza place which has some really gourmet vegan pizzas. Noen is a cafe a bit out of the centre and it has some good vegan/vegetarian options as well, mainly toasties but also vegan cakes and yoghurt and granola (if you gomake sure you say Aila from RUclips sent you haha). If you just want Dutch snack food there's the Croquette Boutique (sells fancy croquettes which are typically dutch and usually made of mystery meat but they have vegan ones). Manneken Pis has the best fries in utrecht with vegan mayo (don't try the cheese sauce) and they also have vegan versions of typical Dutch snacks. Honestly I could go on for days but I hope this gives you a good idea of some nice places.

@@bwana_aila these recommendations are great. I started following you because I’m starting UU in September and I love your channel! Do you have any grocery shop recommendations specifically for vegan stuff? Or a video for vegan recommendations?

@@saidhbhexxx awww I’m glad you think so! That’s very sweet.
In terms of grocery shopping the basic supermarkets tend to have A LOT of vegan options these days. When you’re here you’ll see that it’s super easy to buy vegan. In the Albert Heijn for example most vegan things are very clearly labeled (not just the packet but the whole row). Just today I saw new types of vegan milk! Jumbo is another store which is cheaper I believe and they even have a vegan fridge! But there are also more eco friendly grocery stores which tend to be more pricey such as Ekoplaza and Natuurwinkel and you’ll find different vegan things. There are also some fully vegan grocery stores but they also tend to be more pricey. The only one I know at the moment is Veggie4U and it’s located in The Hague (but you can order online). But a lot of things you find there can also be found at Ekoplaza (and similar stores).
