- This is a new product from review from Marvelous Molds. Loved it! It's called Simpress and they have 3 different types. I am using in this tutorial the Jubilee Sequins. It's the fastest way to add sequins to your cakes and make them look like you spent forever working on it.

Beautiful, Edna! Thank you for sharing!
Beautiful!! Thanks Edna!
sooo beautiful and different
Beautiful thanks for sharing
Hello , very nice presentation, love the Video ! Thanks for uploading !
Oh wow that is solo beautiful!
Your cake is absolutely gorgeous! I think you could also use the individual sequins to help hide the closing seam. Also, I wonder if you could use your luster dust to dust the molds instead of cornstarch. Seams like it could work and coat the sequins at the same time. Think I'll do some experimenting.
I did mention using the small sequins to hide the seams, but I didn't have a big issue with the seams. I wouldn't dust the mold in my personal opinion. I might worry that the powder will prevent a good impression and I am not sure how easy the cleanup will be. I know a lot of people tend to use pearl dust like that but it seems the mold always stays with traces of the dust even after washing.
Ty for sharing :)
Gorgeous as usual!! The cake looks as if there's some sort of shimmering powder. ??
Is called Luster Dust. www.designmeacake.net/collections/highlighters-and-luster-dusts
Also, if you have an imperfection like a line running down a seam in a pattern that doesn't match up, it doesn't have to be the back of the cake, sometimes people want the 360 effect with their cake, try to make that line incorporated into hiding it somehow- maybe you do a drip and let a nice looong drip go down the line, maybe you have flowers running down the side of the cake, right down that line/covering it. As long as 95% of the overall shape/design show through, you can nitpick the last 5% with add-ons, cover ups, extra flair. :P
...Just tough when the customer just wants it 'simple and elegant'
I hide the seam with the same pattern and you don't even see where it meets.
Edna, what a beautiful cake! Do you know if this mold would work, if your tier is taller than the mold?
you can add a piece and try to math it at the line and hide it manually with a sculpting tool or by adding the single sequins, but it will be more work so you got to know that ahead.
Thank you this is beautiful. Edna do you offer private classes?
I am trying to put the tutorials on the website so I can reach more people with my classes.
Beautiful! What did you use to give it the shine?

I love this cake....could you tell me where did you purchase your cake dummy?
I got this at a local store!
Edna De la Cruz ok thank you
Sorry I missed what kind of board you work on. 😊
I put my cakes on a regular cardboard but I cut it to the size of the cake and it's hidden by the buttercream and fondant. The acrylic board is just a temporary place.
Thanks for the tutorial
How much would you sell this cake for??
That will depend on a lot of things!
Hola!! El piso de abajo porfa!!!!
I will plan on a tutorial on that.
Can I use marshmallow fondant with the simpress
You can try and if it gets too sticky you can either place in the freezer for 5 minutes to harden it and it will help getting it out of the mold. Maybe adding some cornstarch to the mold might help also.
Ok thanks so much!!!
What fondant recipe did you use for This cake? And what color did you add to the fondant? Also what color luster dust did you use?
I used Fondx on this one. I need to find the name of the color. I don't remember it. I'll try look for it. Remind me if I forget!
Ok thanks so much can I use your white chocolate fondant recipe for this will it work
Yes you can. If you have any issue with the fondant being too soft you can always place it in the freezer for around 5 minutes and it will make it very easy to work with.
awesome thanks so much
I forgot to ask you one more question 😆 does coloring fondant change the consistency of the fondant and how do you properly add navy blue to white chocolate fondant
i was disappointed to see you used fondant. it's so nasty. still love the accent
I don't love the flavor either but a lot of people do. This is just a decoration and can be discarded.
@@EdnaDelacruz ive never met anyone who likes the flavor. maybe there are? but I find it hard to believe.
@@Cherub72 It comes from Europe and over there people love it.
@@Cherub72 Trust me.. I have talked to people that love it. Here in America we just didn't grow using it so we don't like it as much. But some brides like the look and some types of decorations are meant to be done with it. People already know what fondant is and if they don't like it, they won't eat it. I know I don't eat it myself.
@@EdnaDelacruz I see it as a cake artists easy way of doing things only. It's fine, I understand you make it living off of it. I'm not hating on you, just fondant. ugh it's just the worst. I hope you're having a great day.
