Really depends on what the team wants from him.
Pros of being at RB.
- Tons of space.
- Wide view of the field.
- Able to use speed because of the spaces.
- Tons of positioning opportunities.
At least in Liverpool, RB is the best position for him. Being in CM is not good for his and Liverpool's strength. Its more on the matter of suitability of playstyle and tactics instead of his abilities. Liverpool might have to switch to 4-2-3-1 if they want to accommodate him which is not good compared to current 4- 3- 3 DM strata. At least in terms of occupying key positions on the transition at opponents half (Attacking half spaces.) Of course, maybe he will but his playstyle will be vastly different then.
