When i first seen the witch in the left 4 dead 1 intro it freaked me out. If only ingame doors stopped witches like in the intro.

I think the witch is the closest to being normal because of her attributes such as the awareness of going into a rage, the expression of emotion, feeling pain, self seclusion. None of these attributes are expressed in any other infected at any point in the game. Look at the point made in the map with the sugar mill, they seemed to have flocked there because they understand it’s either from the need to eat and gain energy or because it brings happiness and helps them when it comes to the permanent bad mood they are in. I think the witches are closer to humans than all the other infected honestly

@@ragheedbahnam8055 true. The fallen survivor doesn't attack just runs away from people because it probably knows it's an infected and the only thought is survive. Hell it just walks around the infected so it knows other survivors will probably kill it for its supplies.

4:34 actually all infected seem to feel some form of pain at one point or another.
Common infected sometimes slowly drop to their knees (usually while looking at the gaping hole in their stomach). They also flail around screaming when they’ve been set alight. And when they’re idle, a gunshot that doesn’t kill them outright can cause them to look around quickly while clasping their stomach area.
All of the special infected make a noise whenever they’re hit, which can be seen if you turn on “Full Captions” in settings. There are specific captions for all special infected that say “Spitter Pain,” “Hunter Pain,” etc.
The Tank also has roars that he’ll make ONLY while he’s on fire. These could be seen in the captions prior to the Last Stand update, read as “Tank Burning!” Now the only one it says is “Tank in Pain!”

Crowning can be done on any difficulty with any shotgun. It just depends on accuracy and getting the 5x proximity bonus damage.
Does anyone remember that old L4D animation with the special infected as the main characters? Pretty sure the main duo was a hunter and a witch.
Man one time I was playing left for dead (the first one) and my sister and I were walking to past this area with propane tanks (I think is what they were) and we could hear her but didn’t see her, so we threw our grenadines and started shooting randomly to get her to come out. Apparently she was on top of the tank and we couldn’t see her because of how she was sitting there. Guess who she went for as soon as she got down. Yeah.
So after getting murdered and watching my sister kill the witch, we had a good laugh about it. To this day we joke about it and honestly it was hilarious.

IMO, the Witch and all the other Infected (SI, and Non-Common included) are all passive and still human in their heads, they only go aggressive when a Survivor approaches them or when a loud noise occurs.
As for the SI and Witch, I think they are more intelligent than Commons because they have some sort of emotions, like rage and sadness; speaking of whitch, she might be really crying because she remembers what she has done to uninfected people and she just wants to be left alone.
My theory is she is only a part infected and she still has human personality but she will try and keep you away until she gets lost in rage and attacks

I believe the witch could have suffered from Marfan Syndrome which would explain the tall and slender limbs and hands which could come from arachnodactyly, and I think the description of marfan syndrome matches well with the physical traits of the witch.

I wouldn't necessarily say anorexia, but she probably wouldn't eat due to her depression which is pretty common with women who believe they are fat, thinking that being skinnier would make them more appealing. It's kind of like an alternative to cutting.

You missed out a golden hint for dealing with the witch.
You can't stumble her by pushing her... howeverrrrr if you stumble her with an explosive then you can keep pushing her whilst she regains her balance and it will keep her stumbling. I think you can even get a swing in with a melee weapon between pushes to deal with her mostly risk free on your own, good if you didn't bring a shotgun or don't know how to crown the witch.
When i saw the bribe witch, I feeled kinda sad for her, I mean the day that the flu started infecting people, she was getting married, the day that should be the happiest day of her life ended up being...
