I’m sure it’s obvious to a lot of people, but to anyone that it isn’t… When Winnie absorbed all that power her eyes glowed the same colour as the witch we see in the flashback, before her sisters - her coven - disintegrates. And the witch, when asked where her coven was, alluded to the fact that they weren’t alive. Because she too had cast the spell to become all-powerful and lost everyone she cared about, hence why she made the girls promise to never cast the spell. She was trying to spare them the same fate that she had.
@@hexalfac It also explains why Book kept closing on Winnie when she tried reading the spell - it’d seen the pain the spell had caused before and wanted spare her.
@@iceheart974 She definitely is, that all-powerful spell likely included immortality. Hell, we even saw Binks cursed with that in the first one, though of course he was STUCK as an animal.
I already cried seeing this movie's ending the first time but now I just full on sobbed with Rizzo's tribute added to it. I wish more people liked the ending. It's meant to be a bittersweet one as we most likely we never see these three women together as the sisters on a screen again. It's a farewell to the women who made the Hocus Pocus franchise what it is today - before Disney creates a new show/movie series following these three new characters (who have some big shoes to fill).
1. rizzo respectfully pissed at you for making me cry (in all seriousness sending you love continuously) 2. benji thank you for making me laugh louder than i should have over the angelica leaves line😂 3. Idk why I get so excited to see my name on the patreon list at the end of every video like it’s a surprise or something haha
Came back to watch this, but just a thought can we give Bette Midler her praise being 70 and killing it like this. She looks so good! And her voice is still A1

Can you lose your blood virginity in exactly the same icky ways? Specifically is it only lost when you 1) willingly and 2) donate it, so if someone stole a bloody tissue or tied you to a sacrificial slab and you escaped later you still count as a virgin even though your blood got stolen
@@auricstorm unfortunately I would think so, but just as in when someone SA someone, it doesn't count in my eyes. You know? If someone takes that from you, I don't believe it counts. And thats really what it all is, is intentions!

I think I saw someone point out that Dani is dressed as the Mother Witch in the first movie. Cool tie in. 😊 Also I love how chaotically threatening Mary is in this movie.
So glad you pointed out 1. How amazing the actress that plays Young Winnie is (you can tell she really studied the first movie) and 2. Billy's sudden accent?? I haven't seen anyone else mention it and it drove me nuts the entire movie. Also, even in the first one Garry Marshall's character was like "It's the Sanderson Sisters, right?" so people have at least a vague concept of what they would look like or at least know enough that 3 witches together with a red haired leader = Sanderson sisters.
I’m going to have to respectfully disagree with you lol… Even if he had a faint accent in the first movie, it was just that, Faint. And I’m specifically referencing when he calls Winne a “bucktoothed firefly form hell”. He didn’t talk a lot in the last movie but he did talk and you didn’t hear or barely noticed an accent. And in this one the first two words out of his mouth had a HEAVY accent. If you apply the accent from this movie to the last one, The few lines he had would’ve sounded very different 😅
I've been saying this since I saw th movie. The book is literally full of evil spells, is made of human skin and might still be from the devil. The reuniting spell is literally a spell that kills the target to reunite them with a loved one. And those girls are keeping it...WHY!?
Can confirm, showed the 1st one to my 6 and 8 year olds this year, and my mom friends told me it might awaken the question of "what is a virgin?" Thankfully the kids never asked 😬
I cried at the end too because they remind me so much of my mom and her sisters, and although they are separated by distance I'm fortunate enough that they are still here. I agree that this didn't quite capture the charm of the first one but it was still a great legacy sequel and such a fun time. I actually liked it even more the second time. The songs didn't hit for me either but definitely grew on me the next time around!
If it helps...in the first movie the LEGEND said they got the book from the devil. I don't think the sisters ever confirmed that. Maybe that will help people feel better. Lol
Absolutely loved watching this reaction, and I have to say that I'm sorry for your loss, Rizzo. Of both your mother and aunt. I love you and Benji, I hope you both have an amazing time for the remaining days of this year.
Honestly this was a great reaction especially because I was able to watch the premiere however my deepest sympathies for Rizzo because that is just really rough to go through ❤️❤️❤️
There is an after credits scene leaving the door open for a 3rd movie. I liked this one. I thought you nailed it when saying this was a good companion piece adapted to current times.
I don’t usually comment, but I just wanted to say that I’m sending love Rizzo’s way. I’m so happy you have a support system and this channel and seem to be doing as great as you can be. Thanks for the laughs ❤️

But, of course they had to go off. How else would they have made another one. Thanks for sharing Rizzo. It was very sweet to hear your mum and you are surrounded with such love.
Actually I remember very distinctly crying at the end of this movie because I live so far from my sisters, but when the movie came out they were visiting and we watched it together before they had to leave The second hand grief of thinking about a world without them really tore my day up and while I was sad to see them leave to go live their life I’m thankful I still have them with me

And the random flash mob in the middle! lol Agreed fully that it didn't hit the exact same way as the first, but definitely brought back some nostalgia and warm feels!

Loved your reaction! The movie wasn't better than the first but I think it was still good, funny, and kind of emotional at the end! ❤ Woww Rizzo's explanation about why he cried completely crushed me! 😭
The original 3 looked like they had so much fun doing this sequel. I too felt bad for them and rooted for them even knowing their the villains and have done terrible things. Btw love the Star Wars edits bc those went exactly with the movie scenes to a tee. 👍
Just because Alyson in Hocus Pocus SAID that the story was that Satan gave the Sanderson sisters the book it doesn't mean it ACTUALLY happened that way. I can easily picture the Reverend preaching about how "satan himself" gave them the book just making it up on the spot. So I don't see that as an inconsistency or mistake. BTW I read that the reason that Mary says Cowabunga is that she did voice work for a Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon and they say cowabunga there too.
I cried at the ending too especially being the middle one of three sisters (and one brother) but yeah it just made me think of how devastated I’d be if I were ever to lose them. Also I’m sorry for your loss, Rizzo. Rip to your mom and aunt 🙏🏽

I agree on your opinions of the movie. Rizzo said it the way I felt it: it was exactly what I expected in a good way. Loved the nostalgia and the throwbacks to the first. I loved how we got more backstory to the Sanderson sisters, but the songs weren't a hit for me either. though still fun. Rizzo, I am so sorry about your big losses and my sincere condolences and well wishes to you and your family in these hard times. I totally understand how watching this movie with the grief so fresh made you cry a few times. Been waiting for your reaction! I was plesantly surprised by this film to be honest. Winifreds younger actor was perfect. You are both right though, Mary has changed over the last few decades in hell, she was bloodthirsty this time round.
the witch mother was the one who gave the book to them when she realized that they were different, however, they become witches when they give up their souls to the devil. the book was probably a gift from the devil to the witch mother, which she gave to the sisters so that they could become a new coven. the witch mother performed the forbidden spell, that's why her eyes were purple when she appears and also when she says her coven left. that's why she warned Winifred and her sisters never to do the spell, because she had to lose her own coven to become immortal and extremely powerful. So, in the end, the rumor about Winnie receiving the book from satan isn’t all fake, cause by the end of the day mother witch probably got the book with the devil cause they are all satanic witches.
I've watched other reactors make a joke about Angelica Leaves (all very funny) but this one has been the best yet lol! I didn't care for it but I'm glad it's around to encourage people to watch the original! Rizzo I'm so sorry about your mom and your aunt. Much love and hugs.
Last year i lost my brother and theres only 2 of us left, so i get what Rizzo was talking about with his mom and aunt Sending lots of love to both of you guys PS, hill house and bly manor helped a lot with coping and thats how i found you guys
One of my favorite parts in this movie was when the dude was digging up Billy's grave and he put the shovel in the ground and he was like "thats not 6 feet under" it made me laugh so hard
Someone might have already said this but the spider in the beginning was actually a golden silk orb weaver and they are native to America! ( they’re also one of my favorite kinds of spiders)
What the youngsters don’t know is that the 90’s charm and feeling was all thanks to Garry Marshall (the “master” in the first one) who helped change the first one to a funny movie rather than the original scary movie it was meant as. He helped change MANY films to their charming magical state (Pretty Woman is a HUGE example as the original film had Julia Roberts’ character die at the end). So the sequel didn’t have the charm because Garry Marshall passed away in 2016. So yes seeing the sequel and the first as two separate films is the best thing. Especially since the original kids didn’t appear so it’s a new adventure.
So sorry to hear about both your mum and aunty Rizzo. 😢 glad you jave your other aunty to spend time with and gather all of that special time with. I really enjoyed this reaction 😄
Great reactions as always! I really enjoyed watching this with my family so it was kind of a relief to see you guys seeming to have a good time as well. I hope you guys are able to have a great rest of your year! As a side note, I was watching your Hocus Pocus 1 reaction and benji said he hasn't seen bette midler in anything else. Would you guys be interested in watching the First Wives Club? For those who don't know this classic, you've got bette midler, dame maggie smith, diane keaton, sarah parker, goldie hawn and more
12:11 i mean…there might be an explanation on why everyone know the sisters’s appearences. Perhaps they were illustrated for generations, it’s like Santa Claus or Jesus or Christopher Colombus. Several portrait of the Sanderson sisters might have been made since then and that’s why everyone know what they look like…
• So Winni possesses the Book of Witchcraft & leads the Coven; • Mary SMELLS out the whereabouts of the children; • Sarah LURES the children through her hypnotic song.
I'm so happy they eventually did a second. I absolutely fell in love with the first movie in 1995, and my 6th grade teacher knew how much I loved Bette Midler in this movie (I also loved Bette's singing - some of my favorite songs of her's were / are Wind Beneath My Wings, To Deserve You, The Last Time, From A Distance, Moonlight Dancing, Day and Night.. I Put A Spell On You. 🤣).. Anyways, so my teacher surprised me by writing to the "Winnie" and got me an autograph picture from her. My teacher framed it, then surprised me with it one day in the lunchroom in front of everyone. I was so embarrassed, but so happy. 😍 I have the picture in my closet, safe and secure. I would never hang it on the wall, because I don't want it to fall and shatter its' frame - It's still in great condition. 👍 ☺

that fact that those Roombas are just Mary's "enchanted pets" the whole movie is the silliest aspect that I honestly don't mind lol
Enchanted pets is something I'm gonna call Roomba from now on because we already call Roombas our babies and pets...
That and the fact that Sarah was on a Swiffer this time instead of a mop always make me laugh sooo hard!!

Yes, I agree. Seeing them follow her everywhere and listen to her is great!! Lol😂
The most unrealistic aspect of this is that none of them ended up in a bathroom somewhere after eating all those beauty products. 😂

its crazy that the book really try so much to protect Wini from losing her sisters, like is that book evil or not ?
😂 I don’t think they know
The book serves the witches but wants what is best for them and not to bring them harm.

The spittake to Angelica Leaves "where did she go?" was excellent!!
😂😂
That Angelica leaves joke was 👨🍳💋 took me a second like Rizzo but now it's gonna be in my head rent free. Bravo Benji BRAVO
Thank you 💁♀️
the witch mother was the one who gave the book to them when she realized that they were different, however, they become witches when they give up their souls to the devil.
the book was probably a gift from the devil to the witch mother, which she gave to the sisters so that they could become a new coven.
the witch mother performed the forbidden spell, that's why her eyes were purple when she appears and also when she says her coven left.
that's why she warned Winifred and her sisters never to do the spell, because she had to lose her own coven to become immortal and extremely powerful.
Rizzo!! Excuse me I love your NAILS!!
22:44 I immediately thought of Mean Girls too bc of your last video 😂
I literally waited for you to release this before watching any other reaction, and I’m glad! Loving this
Last year i lost my brother and theres only 2 of us left, so i get what Rizzo was talking about with his mom and aunt
Sending lots of love to both of you guys
PS, hill house and bly manor helped a lot with coping and thats how i found you guys
One of my favorite parts in this movie was when the dude was digging up Billy's grave and he put the shovel in the ground and he was like "thats not 6 feet under" it made me laugh so hard
Loved the Sandlot reference. That would be another great movie to see you guys do!
Someone might have already said this but the spider in the beginning was actually a golden silk orb weaver and they are native to America! ( they’re also one of my favorite kinds of spiders)
Actually no one has identified the spider, thank you! Glad your fave spider got its 15min ☺️
All the love to you and your fam. My mom and her sisters.... I can’t even. ❤❤❤
Oh dang. I didn't expect that moment of emotional candour. Hugs ❤️💋
Yes AND it was missing Kenny Ortega 🥹
the sanderson cover of one way or another ABSOLUTELY SLAPS!
So sorry to hear about both your mum and aunty Rizzo. 😢 glad you jave your other aunty to spend time with and gather all of that special time with.
I really enjoyed this reaction 😄
Dang, Rizzo, making feel all the feelings this morning. Much love to you and your family.
For those who don't know this classic, you've got bette midler, dame maggie smith, diane keaton, sarah parker, goldie hawn and more
Omg. The *quipping* was ON THE DAMN POINT THIS VIDEO! Hahahaha
Awww my dude! I'm so sorry for ur losses! Bless ur heart!
12:11 i mean…there might be an explanation on why everyone know the sisters’s appearences. Perhaps they were illustrated for generations, it’s like Santa Claus or Jesus or Christopher Colombus. Several portrait of the Sanderson sisters might have been made since then and that’s why everyone know what they look like…
• So Winni possesses the Book of Witchcraft & leads the Coven;
• Mary SMELLS out the whereabouts of the children;
• Sarah LURES the children through her hypnotic song.
I have the picture in my closet, safe and secure. I would never hang it on the wall, because I don't want it to fall and shatter its' frame - It's still in great condition. 👍 ☺
17:01 lol 😂 love the Christmas mms commercial reference
What's extra fun is that the actress who plays Mary voices Peggy Hill lol
I love y’all page so much you always make me laugh so much ❤❤❤❤❤❤
11:55 imagine seeing this part in theatres! That would’ve been ICONIC.
I’m hoping if there’s a 3rd one that it’ll be in theatres
