This was a great year for me I got a BMX bike and a remote control Porsche car .I remember lying in bed hearing the sellotape noise from my mum wrapping up presents and then waited untill everyone went to bed then sneaked downstairs and opened all my presents I remember playing with the Porsche in the dark and it had headlights ..probably my best Xmas ..1982♥️.wish I could go back to that time .I hate things how they are now in society and watching vintage things like this stir up fond memories of such a innocent time in my life I was 10..thank you for this upload 👍 cheered me up today...

Christmas Eve, 1982. I was playing in the living room with my brother that evening and fell through the glass door of our open fire. My dad came home from visiting cousins, etc, and we tried inventing a story to make what happened less than me fooling about, he wasn't pleased, sent to bed, remember Terry and June being on and me thinking that I won't get any presents tonight from Santa. Luckily he still brought the goods.

I was twelve at the time and in my second year at senior school. When Christmas TV was worth watching. Only four channels but far better quality than 2022 vintage. No intrusive social media either - I am of a generation that grew up without excessive technology!

20,000 Leagues had been the 'big' Christmas Day film just 2 years earlier! You'd think they'd have saved it till, um, Easter 83 or something.

I loved June Whitfield in everything she did, but Terry Scott was a real one-trick prat.
