Hi Vivian just want to share how meaningful your channel is to me. I have been going through emotionallly stressful times and have been feeling alone. Your channel bring the laughter and smiles that lacks in my life right now. Blessings to you and i pray you soar to the "top of RUclips" very soon. ❤🙏😊
I wish we were neighbors so we could hang out and be crafty and go to Dollar Tree, Aldi, etc. together. You bring so much joy to my day when you have a new video.
1) safety tip: you have to watch the candles, the tissue/napkins will catch fire 2) Wrapping the candle in wax paper works great as it adds a layer of wax over the candle and seals the napkin/tissue to the candle 3) you can use wrapping tissue and let the kids decorate it with colored pencils and personalize it as gifts 4) you can use a blow dryer to heat the candle too and that is easier for most people to control and keep their hands from getting too hot - Hope this helps!
You can use a heat gun instead of an iron for the napkins on the candles, you can also use a printer and print photos onto tissue paper. I did that for my mother's funeral and gave the candles as memorial gifts
Oh, honey... you had loose edges on the stencil. I recommend using a spray adhesive on the back of the stencil, so that the edges of the letters are stuck to the surface, and the etching cream doesn't bleed under. Or, use contact paper/vinyl, and then cut the letters out with a craft knife. 😉👍
Those embroidered applique patches were fashionable in the 70s. I remember going to the fabric section of department stores with my mom. I wanted my mom to buy them to put them on my sweater or jumpers. The gigantic beer mug. If you have an immersion blender, you can use the beer mug as the mixing container
The candle idea reminds me of a craft we did in the 70s. We applied a decal to the top of a bar of soap and then carefully dipped the top of the soap in paraffin. The soap could be used and the decal stayed on until the bar was used up.
Check out the battery-powered candles, A lot of them are wax coated and you can apply the designs just like on a regular candle and no worry about the napkin possibly catching fire.
Those little personalized cutting boards would be great for a little charcuterie board bachelorette party...each bridesmaid gets one personalized to them and get to customize what they want to eat with a charcuterie-type buffet!
Use a blow dryer for the candles 🕯️ wrap with wax or parchment paper and use the blow dryer to go around it. It’s so much easier and it looks fantastic. Fantastic.
Back in the early 90s when the TLC channel was actually about learning….or maybe it was CMT….Aleene, from Aleene’s Tacky Glue and other craft products, had a daily show. She showed the napkin transfer process!
The compact umbrella at DT is a must stock up before prices go up. No they are not impeccable quality but it is great for in the car or in your office at the office.
Vivian. There is something similar you can do like you did with a single 3-D butterflies. Take a magnet and put it in the center of your frame. And then put a magnet on the back of each butterfly and then you can change your butterflies out whenever you want. 🥰 With the water bottle stickers, I do those on resin tumblers and then resin over them and they look fantastic. As always, I love your videos
Vivian I love that you tried the etching cream. Unfortunately, it was the stencil that had issues, not the cream. It clearly did its job but the stencil should be very well adhered to the glass surface which the D25tree stencil did not… which caused bleeding. However I feel $1.25 is expensive for the amount of etching cream you get.
I really like what you did with the candle that is so beautiful. I love it when you craft for us you are so talented I hope you have a wonderful weekend take care
Ohhh love the tiger on white jean jacket! I have one and am now gonna hunt for that gem tiger lol. If you use cellophane/scotch tape, you can separate layers of napkins very easily. You can use parchment paper to cover the candle on the napkin but instead of ironing, use a craft heating tool or just a hair dryer on high heat. Wax melts and paper sticks, easier than ironing a cylindrical candle.
use the realistic looking feather butterflies! I have also gotten the giant plastic bugs, painted them gold and glued them to the frame, it gives a really cool vintage effect
The cork brought back a memory, I had a wall in my bedroom when I was in middle school and kept all my favorite things from friends ect on that wall❣️❣️❣️❣️
Wow those patches bring back memories! I was a kid and my mom would sew them on anything I wanted. They were the best on jeans and denim jackets. 💜💜💜 I didn’t see them in my store yesterday.
Vivian, there's nothing wrong with the itching cream it's how you put it on. You have to lightly dab it on so that it doesn't go under the stencil. And it works better if you use Stickers like a cricket.
You can glue those patches on, too, with water soluble glue. Lay them flat, put a weight on them so they dry flat, and then when the bag wears out, soak it and boom, the patches come off and are reusable.
I make a lot of those candles using photos I've printed myself on tissue paper. I then use a hair drier instead of an iron to fix the paper onto the candle. I cover the tissue paper with parchment paper as I'm working. Easy.
The etch cream is good. It is some strong stuff. It only needs a few minutes. It will bleed. The transfer didn't work because of the curve. You need the stencils that stick to the glass.
Vivian YOU are the very best!!! I wish I was your neighbor or work friend!! I love your channel!! Your DIYs are the very best. Whenever I see that you have a new video I’m like woohoo!!! Thank you so much for making my day!!! 💖💐💖
I love the way the candles came out and also the flower on the cutting board. I would use a pencil to write the name and burn over it to get the font perfect. The stencil going on a beer mug crooked makes it even better. 😂😂😂
Had it up 3 $trees within an hour and a half by making our morning route out in a triangle rather than a loop. Racked up on acrylic drawers, drawer organizers, plactic wicker bins w/tops, and stackable shelves for underneath cabinets. It was a fun morning!
I do these all the time. I use wax paper to wrap around the candle and I use a heat gun (a blow dryer will also work). I have made a lot of "Memory" candles for people who have lost their loved ones. I print their photos onto the candle and they are gorgeous when finished.
Tween/young teen girl birthday party idea - guests can chose a makeup bag and patches, adult does the ironing, add candy, gum, lipgloss etc. = Goody Bag
A sponge works better with etching than a brushing like tool. With a brush you rub around the edges and it gets under the stencil. But with a sponge you just press straight down and so the bleeding is less pronounced. Also make sure it’s soo secure.
Omg This was so much fun! Girls night with Dollar Tree crafts! I bought the diamond art. That with a couple mimosas will be memories that last a lifetime!😁
I love your videos, Vivian. Always fun! But I think the problem with your etching project was "user error", not the cream. I've done glass etching in the past with stencils. The stencil needs to be glued down with removable adhesive or use an "adhesive stencil". Or use a design cut out of a sticky contact paper. You can't have space for the cream to seep under the design. When you brush or sponge the cream on, it's inevitable that it will get under a regular stencil & you won't have crisp definition.
Vivian, if you get really good with the wood burning tool; you can bring it to parties. Setup a table a customize cutting boards! 😊 thats multi use multi purpose
I started buying the patches to make trucker hats for my grandchildren . They're very cute , but look closely at what the package says because the have puffy stickers that are very similar
On the candle diy ... if you use those tiny tiny lights you can put the lights in with the gems to light them up . Also idr what its called but theres a product to secure the small batery pack and candle down amidst the gems . Hey VIVIAN TRIES ! I'VE got loads of ideas if you would like to go into a business together! Lol!
Luv dollar 🌲 && Vivian! ! &. They may raise their prices, why not ?! Every restaurant, stores raising $$$$. 🎉❤😊. Patches: decorate your dog harnesses 🐕👍
7:10 fancy shot glasses,sorbet.. bedazzel outside with bling♡ . 12:40 -Ive never seen any $ store here in South FL.( I prob have 20 stores in 15 mi,)w/that many stickers huge selection 😅.TY !
I've got the pink & blue cup you just showed I got it for Mother's Day & a cup from Walmart that has a built in snack holder at the top just a couple of things I got for Mothers Day. 😊
You always make me laugh 😂😂 we used to put them on our Levi's back in the 70's I saw them last week I got a whole bunch of stuff I have one really nice Dollar Tree by my house and I go there. I thought that the beer mug was a measuring glass like they have in Japan
Tip for the etchings cream. Stencil vinyl works perfectly. The stencil has to stick and lay flat so it doesn’t bleed. 12 mins should also be long enough to etch it.
Oh Vivian. You make me laugh. You're so cute and funny. Ok, here's a tip for the etching cream. Use your cricut and make yourself a stencil with vinyl. Stick it on your cup and coat it. The issue was with the stencil, not the etching cream. Xxx
On the stencils some of them like the butterfly and the letters say you can pull it they have a sticky back and you can reuse them you can put it on whatever you're doing it sticks to it and then you pull it back off
Want More Dollar Tree Crafts?

Heck ya! Anything, everything, anytime! All things are funny, informative, entertaining from you!❤

Patches were popular in the 60s & 70s. Everything old is new again!

Me too! That would be so much fun!!! 💖💐💖

You can also use the $ Tree battery pillar candles since they are waxy.
😉👍
I’ve seen people have great luck using a sponge and dabbing the cream on instead of painting it on.
that’s what i was screaming too. 😂

Not necessarily in this video but my favorite Vivian quote is multipurpose, multi use. I caught myself saying it one day.
The compact umbrella at DT is a must stock up before prices go up. No they are not impeccable quality but it is great for in the car or in your office at the office.

Decoupaging candles? Never thought about it but I'm loving it! I love Decoupage crafts! Definitely trying this! 🌺

The little make-up bags would also be cute for a little girl for a combination purse/pencil case.
You are fantastic, don't ever think you are alone. We ALL love you. You are an inspirational ❤️ 👏 😊😊.

Vivian's DT crafts are going to be the reason they raise prices because her ideas are the best!
I am loving the pouches idea. I can't wait to try for gifts for my co workers
❤ you Vivian. Yes I like watching craft ideas. Especially if they’re easy.

Oh Vivian that beer mug makes a killer coffee mug!
Tip, for the wood burning tool, you can use metal stencils or peel on stick stencils to help you with burning it with more percision
I need MORE Dollar Tree crafts from Vivian!
We found super cute croc charms
That mug brought root beer floats to my mind 😂😂😂
7:10 fancy shot glasses,sorbet.. bedazzel outside with bling♡ . 12:40 -Ive never seen any $ store here in South FL.( I prob have 20 stores in 15 mi,)w/that many stickers huge selection 😅.TY !

You can do the candles woth a hair dryer too.
Oh Vivian. You make me laugh. You're so cute and funny. Ok, here's a tip for the etching cream. Use your cricut and make yourself a stencil with vinyl. Stick it on your cup and coat it. The issue was with the stencil, not the etching cream. Xxx
Such a cute idea to iron the patches onto the little makeup bags!!! ❤😊
I still watch your videos even though I stopped shopping at Dollar Tree. 😊
I do the same thing with my candles, well I use the flame less candles and mod podge.
On the stencils some of them like the butterfly and the letters say you can pull it they have a sticky back and you can reuse them you can put it on whatever you're doing it sticks to it and then you pull it back off
❤😊 l love the butterflies.
Hi Vivian. Love all your videos whatever the content 😊
That candle looks like it ha a gorgeous tattoo!
Hi Vivian! Long time fan from Michigan here! Could you use a hairdryer for the candle designs? You should have your own t.v series! ❤❤❤

Great products, but better ideas from our Vivian!!! Candles gorgeous.
A towel would be a good idea for the iron on between the bag and the iron.
Love the stickers and iron ons!
