I'm from Alabama. I'm an Alabama fan. I happen to enjoy listening to Finebaum (or "Feinbaum" as the creator of this video spelled it) but 3 years later, I still think what I thought in 2011. The constitution allows for free speech. HWJ used his right of free speech to comment on Obama, etc. But, ESPN also has a constitutional right and as a privately owned organization to put whoever they want on their station or block whoever they want on their station. And Finebaum has the right to disagree with them. But, while Finebaum isn't a racist and is usually dead on in his debates, he dropped the ball here. He tried to accuse Jones of things and put words in his mouth and should have apologized for it. However, while there are some idiots in the south who still prove themselves to be racist, the culture as a whole has changed dramatically since I was a child. Heck, I live on sand mountain. That's supposed to be the hotbed of racism in the south and I can honestly say 95% of the people I know on sand mountain don't have one drop of racist blood in their bodies. I'd dare say there's less racism in my hometown than there is in New York City. People in the south, for the most part, believe in what Dr. King said in his "I Have a Dream" speech. We believe in looking at one another without considering the color of the skin, the way they talk, or outward appearance, but rather the quality of the character. If you are not from the south, never been to the south, and have always looked down on it/us, I ask you to come to the south sometime and see for yourself. I have a friend who married a guy from NYC. They had their wedding in Birmingham and she took his family (a very wealthy political family in NYC) around to her hometown on sand mountain. She also took them to Gadsden, Guntersville, Huntsville, and Birmingham. Their reaction was, "I can't believe how different this place is from what I'd heard and I expected it to look and be like. You all are good, normal, upstanding people exactly like the people we know in NYC except the way you talk." People who hate the south most of the time have never been there. God bless

1) Hank Williams Jr. has a right to say whatever he wants. It's a free country
2) As an entertainer, his career is based on branding and brand message which ESPN uses to add to its own entertainment. They basically have a mutual-sponsorship of each other.
3) If ESPN which is supports to be politics neutral doesnt like that HWJr has altered aspects of his branding in radical manners than they have a right to fire him as sponsor

I'm from Alabama. I'm an Alabama fan. I happen to enjoy listening to Finebaum (or "Feinbaum" as the creator of this video spelled it) but 3 years later, I still think what I thought in 2011. The constitution allows for free speech. HWJ used his right of free speech to comment on Obama, etc. But, ESPN also has a constitutional right and as a privately owned organization to put whoever they want on their station or block whoever they want on their station. And Finebaum has the right to disagree with them. But, while Finebaum isn't a racist and is usually dead on in his debates, he dropped the ball here. He tried to accuse Jones of things and put words in his mouth and should have apologized for it. However, while there are some idiots in the south who still prove themselves to be racist, the culture as a whole has changed dramatically since I was a child. Heck, I live on sand mountain. That's supposed to be the hotbed of racism in the south and I can honestly say 95% of the people I know on sand mountain don't have one drop of racist blood in their bodies. I'd dare say there's less racism in my hometown than there is in New York City. People in the south, for the most part, believe in what Dr. King said in his "I Have a Dream" speech. We believe in looking at one another without considering the color of the skin, the way they talk, or outward appearance, but rather the quality of the character. If you are not from the south, never been to the south, and have always looked down on it/us, I ask you to come to the south sometime and see for yourself. I have a friend who married a guy from NYC. They had their wedding in Birmingham and she took his family (a very wealthy political family in NYC) around to her hometown on sand mountain. She also took them to Gadsden, Guntersville, Huntsville, and Birmingham. Their reaction was, "I can't believe how different this place is from what I'd heard and I expected it to look and be like. You all are good, normal, upstanding people exactly like the people we know in NYC except the way you talk." People who hate the south most of the time have never been there. God bless
