I really want to be a tech vet..I hate my current job... but I'm making more now than I would a tech. I would like to do physical therapy but I can't decide it.. :(

I was planning on studying for vet assistant because since i was little i’ve always loved helping animals and had always watched videos on them, now i really wanted to study to be a vet assistant but saw the Salarys and it’s below what i am currently making which is 18.55$ an hr. So I decided to search up for vet tech and realized for everything they so they get payed 23$ an hr here in las Vegas. Sadly they pays are too low😔For the yr of study. It was something i really wanted to do. But anyways just wanted to say thankyou so much for helping these little guys❤️

Do the technicians do the surgery or is that someone else?

Hi! Our veterinarians perform the surgical procedures and the technicians assist in prepping animals for their surgeries.

how many years of collage do you need to be a vet tech?

depends on where you go. I'm doing a 15 month program, but programs vary.

I think It also depends on which Country you live in.... In Canada its a 2 year (plus practicums) program

2-4 years. It's associate or bachelor's degree
