They look beautiful. They have really taken care of their skin and appearance. They also have a new song coming out soon after All the Queen's horses. I wonder what it will be like. I can't wait.
Their reunification is an incredible triumph. Some of my favorite songs come from them. It may not seem like it to them, but their voices sound like they were made for each other. They are so complimentary.
Oh, please somebody reassure them we are not obsessing about the awkward bits in their past, but their creativity and charisma they manifested together.
I love the way she dresses in a gothic way for Shakespears Sister, but in a lighter way when she's with Bananarama. She always looks totally different depending on which band she's with.
@@ajs41: 😂 Your comment was funny! She obviously learned with age that is possible to play different roles/characters according to the people/band she's with...and the fans applaude...she was lucky enough to be in 2 super bands that somehow defined their respective decades in music, the 80's and the 90's...and that also marked the importance of women in the music industry...how many people can say that?
'Shakespears Sister' marked a moment in my life in 1989, after something beautiful and before something just as beautiful. Iconic is too small a word for these girls. Thx.
People often don't realise that Marcella was already 40 years old in 1992 when Stay was a massive hit. She looks much younger on the official video and various live performances from that year.
I just love these two, their music and words are amazing. I’ve missed them so, and brought their cd etc as I have their music from way back….❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤great to see them back…..thanks ladies, you’re the best….🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Welcome back ladies!!! Great interview, love the new video. I will buy the greatest hits collection. I eagerly await the 5 song EP. I hope you will tour the states, and release a full cd of new music. It is really a dream come true to have Shakespear's Sister back together after all these years!! We need great music these days and you ladies know how to deliver the goods!
I actually had never heard Shakespears Sister. Then I saw an episode of Absolutely Fabulous and Marcella was singing at Saffy’s wedding. I looked up who she was, and it mentioned Shakespears Sister. Also, French and Saunders did a spoof version of the “Stay” video. I thought they were exaggerating a little, then I saw the real video of Stay; and they really nailed it!
That is the best news I heard in a very long time. Listened to their albums back in the 90s. (Biggest crush on marcella *laugh* like probably every male human on this planet) She still looks amazing, they both do. Looking forward to many good songs from this amazing duo
I personally believe that Siobhan has finally got rid of her angst by finally realising that she was taking herself far too seriously. Lightening up and acknowledging that both she and Marcy actually compliment each other in a special way.I am so glad to see two human beings getting on together.
"Stay" is really Marcella's BIG moment! ❤ I bought the "Shakespear's Sister Best Of" Because of Dirty Mind and Stay, and the companion DVD was awesome and I discovered several other gems as well! ❤ It's like an addiction! 💜 I don't really fancy remixes, coz all their tunes are kinda off the wall anyways (as they should be!), and there's no need to alter the arrangements in any way, and I'm sure this new compilation's great as well! Enjoy! 💜
Fantastic to see these two back together.....and not before time either!! I have both their "Sacred Heart" and "Hormonally Yours" albums, which I still enjoy to this day, so I'm really excited that they are making new material again. And don't they both look fantastic!? Marcy especially doesn't look anything close to hear real age of 67! Welcome back ladies :-D
I love this. I have heard of quite a few bands/acts that have done this. Got together after many years apart, and just talked. Because when people have been through so much together usually at very young age, they are no longer the same people. They are usually better suited to get along with each other as people. The old grudges and difficulties are no longer relevant, priorities have changed, and they as people are better equipped to deal with the pressures of the music industry. The funny thing is, I’m usually not that concerned with hearing new music from them, because I am aware that voices have aged, etc. But I do want to think that they are getting along together.
Nice interview and some nice insight to the immediate future. But it would be nice if BUILD acknowledged more fans questions rather than the same people. My friends and i have tried getting questions through with a few artists now and not once was they asked but i have seen other people get their questions asked often. A bit more fairness is needed in future.
If I had the chance to ask them anything, I would've asked about the inclusion of Edith Sitwell's poetry on their song I Don't Care. I'd like to know where that came from. The Thompson Twins title track on their album QUEER had Alannah Currie rapping verses of Edith's poetry while also featuring Edith's voice taken from some interview she once did, I think.
Javier Mojica maybe still a smiths / Morrissey influence goes through them . Their name being one major factor and also morrrissey flaunted images of Edith Sitwell on stage-drop photos and tour programmes , so mayb they investigate this further and are fans of Edith too? Interesting . But a lovely touch too to have her poetry being spoken in song
All in all a nice interview. But sometimes it stays a bit on the surface. Particularly when it comes to "Stay" - what are the feelings about this song nowadays? What were the real problems back then? Did Siobhan really feel that Marcy's taking over? What did Marcy think when Siobhan didn't respond to her contact attemps via email over the years? What did she think when she saw Bananarama playing the song? And she recently said that she's never listened to Siobhan's solo work after the split. I'd really love to see and hear a new recorded version of "It's a trip" (with a video), her best solo single, including Marcy.
Time passes by for everyone...but i don't care. The most important thing is music, their music. I don't understand why they never came to Italy. Maybe fans are too few ?
Cosmic Dancer is quite a OK album, however some of tracks is quite raw in sound. The re-brushed up of The Carpenters Baby's its you will be brilliant theme track
They are madly in love, but pretend not to be, I see right through you Sisters, they can’t keep away from each other cause they are soul bonded together that is why they sound so well together 💜❤️♥️
The music they do "together" is great. However it still seems that Siobhan has all he music and concepts mapped out beforehand and just needs someone to sing with her, without much of an input of Marcy. As far as I gathered Marcy told in the past that Shakespears Sister was Siobhan's music project and she was just hired as singer. Whenever I hear them speak in these newer interviews, it still feels as Siobhan just has it her way and Marcy tags along. Marcy also seems to rather avoid talking about Siobhan when interviewed alone. To me it feels as Marcy just came to accept that Siobhan is egotistical and she finds a way to cope with that, make a reunion for publicity and cash.
@@survivor147 Oh I see. Marcy has gone on record saying she reached out to Siobhan but she got no reply, then finally Siobhan texted her at the encouragement of her agent and that's how they started texting each other. I guess they just decided to forgive each other. That's pretty cool.
Marcella looks amazing for 67 years old. I am so happy they are back and I really hope for more new music and videos.
They look beautiful. They have really taken care of their skin and appearance. They also have a new song coming out soon after All the Queen's horses. I wonder what it will be like. I can't wait.
She got more beautiful in my opinion. Siobhan was one of my crushes back in the day but I think now it's Marcella 😂
They're both beautiful
We missed a pop band with character. So welcomed back!
They are now a duo again but some of us do love all of Shakespear's sister's music & the tour's too, but it's great to have this reunion now! 😀
Their reunification is an incredible triumph. Some of my favorite songs come from them. It may not seem like it to them, but their voices sound like they were made for each other. They are so complimentary.
When you consider Marcella was already 40 years old in 1992 when Stay was a hit, we're amazingly lucky to have them still performing today.
Great to see them back together.
Oh, please somebody reassure them we are not obsessing about the awkward bits in their past, but their creativity and charisma they manifested together.
61 and Siobhan is still BEAUTIFUL.
God Bless Siobhan and Marcella
so fucking underrated...so important to the 90s alternative scene/history...
I am happy they are reunited and making music from their creative minds again.
Siobhan Fahey is still beautyfull like a godess.... like an evil godess....
You just know she would be a wonderful nightmare
Stay is a masterpiece video and music

So glad these are back. What a great re-start too, fantastic track
we missed you ladies im so happy your both back
I’m so happy they are back! They shaped my teen years b
Such a pity that they didn't make up back then. Those two albums are two of my favorite albums of all time.
“Microphones at Dawn” would be an awesome title for a song of theirs!
Missed you two last time, cannot wait to see you in November. So excited! You're inspirational and unique.
Love Them
So magnificent seeing these ladies back together. Lennon and McCartney were great on their own, but together... transcendent.
Tour the US? Please!
Back!!!! That's beautiful!! :-*

Brilliant interview, just like the one with Keren and Sarah. I still keep getting sidetracked by the rather gorgeous interviewer!
matt bagwell does an awesome job on this interview! :)
I look forward to the Symphony hall concert ❤

I know I'm a couple months late but....... THEY'RE BACK!!!
Someone's obviously asked Siobhan to sit a little bit closer to Marcy while playing the video bit ;)
Looked like Siobhan moved down enough to turn around comfortably to see the video on the monitor imo.
Anyone recommend some favourites from their new stuff??
Lol I was expecting/hoping to hear Siobhan with an Irish accent 😊
❤❤👍🥂
So why did they break up in the first place!?! Somebody tell me!! 😁😊
wrote songs under the Joshua tree in deserts, wow.

wet dream imminent
Were they lovers? It sounds like it
They weren't.
Hello is mad good. The lyrics are stolen from Bowie's back pocket?
If I was Marcy I would have waited till Sibhoan reaches our first. Sounds like S was the biggest problem in the group back in 1992
Until Siobhan reaches what? I don't understand
Reaches out

Did Siobhan use the 26 year hiatus to take singing lessons? 😂
Back for the cash
