There were actually 5 FIFA games released for the Mega Drive (I call it the Genesis in North America). FIFA International Soccer in 1993, FIFA 95, FIFA 96, FIFA 97 and FIFA Road to the World Cup: 98. Sega's 16 bit machine was considered the "console for sports games". NHL 94, International Superstar Soccer Deluxe, NBA Jam Tournament Edition, Madden 95, Brian Lara's Cricket, Super Baseball 2020, PGA Tour Golf III, World Series Baseball, Rugby World Cup 95, and so on. All of EA Sports' games were always better on Genesis rather than Super Nintendo as well.

I owned an n-gage QD (the successor of the n-gage) and back then having that device was actually cool since the device had a memory slot, could play videos, browse the internet, play nintendo roms via certain emulators, listen to mp3's and play games such as fifa and sonic. Obviously, all of that changed when the psp was released and sony changed the handheld scene forever.
The first FIFA I bought was FIFA06 on the gamecube. With FIFA07 PS2 really took it over graphically, but I did not know at the time. Maybe that's why I liked 06 better compared to other people who prefer 07. I reckon most people played 07 on Playstation. FIFA08/09 was real fun on the Wii, really nice memories with the mii characters. Still used the Gamecube controller though... I even played 07 on the Nintendo DS lite😂
