I think the older downtowns will have more value because they're real case hits. Just like when Panni turned, Select into retail. The older Select hobby cards had a shorter print run.
That means the back end of this product is gonna be dry as hell. Companies have been front-loading for years to create false hype, but not to this extent so I imagine it was a collation mistake as well. Sort of like the “Planetary Pursuit” cards out of Topps Chrome Cosmic baseball, breakers were hitting those left and right when the product first came out and those are suppose to be case hits as well
I miss the 90s. I miss the awesome inserts that were tuff to pull. I miss chasing Kobe’s and Jordan’s. 7 bucks a pack for legendary fun to rip stuff. Inserts are so lame these days. Upsetting
People are upset that their lottery ticket provider has watered down the product. That’s all sportscards have become (unfortunately). No incentive for quality control because people keep buying under any and all circumstances.
That’s why I’ll never understand unnumbered case hits. Always a “buy what you love” guy but for people to spend thousands on base kabooms, DT, stained glass etc seems way too risky.
Between this and the CT scanning of vintage pokemon packs/boxes. I have come too the decision I'm selling everything and getting far away from this hobby. Every week new scam, card altering, breakers dipping. This is a hobby that was designed for kids and enthusiats. It is no longer fun which is really sad because cards are what got me sober and kept me sober. :( BIG FAN THE CHANNEL THO!!
Everyone at Panini knows they have an expiration date on their licenses. It’s a complete money grab for them by any means. You can hope for better but it’s not gonna happen. Panini will print as much as it can of anything they feel is valuable between now and when their license expires. Whatever consumers show interest in will be printed in excess.
How many non-breakers are buying cases and cases of FOTL at that price? Makes sense to me the breakers are getting it since they buy most of the cases, but doesn’t excuse the problem at hand. Hopefully they become more affordable!

As far as I understand it was completely intentional. And what's the harm? Blasters and Retail have been out for 3 months and there are thousands upon thousands of downtown's on the market and I don't the few select cases of first off the line are going to change anything. If this continues with hobby then I would say it might be a problem

Thousands? Probably but it's certainly not like the days of the Jambalaya where you can just tell by the amount transacted, there aren't very many. It's too bad Kabooms and downtowns aren't similar in print run.

Don't complain that they are hard to hit! Those value packs are cheap and hobby boxes (which have better odds for case hits) are expensive. It is all proportional (except 2023 Donruss Optic FOTL and hobby)
Im on whatnot,pristine etc. Nightly I've never seen anybody get the multiple downtown you're referring to there are guys doing repack brakes for they have bought downtowns and have guaranteed downtown hits but nobody has pulled 25 freaking downtowns out of a case you're being a bit ridiculous there and why does it suck because you haven't done it nobody's done it 25 downtown is 1 case come on man you're getting a bit ridiculous yourself
