TWO IMPORTANT NOTES! i completely forget to mention that the behind the door wall charging station - created by @aniacopian, copied by me! (check her out on instagram she's wonderful) the app that converts film negatives to viewable images in real time is NOT called “lab box”. It’s called FilmLab. It’s like $5 and if you have a light table at home, I highly suggest grabbing it.
You can also get a general idea of what your frames look like if you have an iPhone! Go into your settings>Accessibility>Display & Text Size>Classic Invert.
RUclips recommended your scan video to me this morning and I loved it. Your videos are so friendly and engaging - I definitely want to see more! I got my Afga Ambi Silette rangefinder out of storage last year and I'm now totally hooked on the whole process with film, so seeing your set up was really interesting.
Absolutely loved the vid Linus. I personally like this length of video.. not too long, not too short. Also love your editing style and use of 3D film photos throughout.. literally the coolest. Can't wait to see where your channel goes! I already know you're gonna make it big
I’m happy to see a new RUclips photography creator come to light in my suggestions feed. I hope you will become the next Willem Verbeck, Corey Wokfenbager, or Matt Day!
I LOVE your channel! I’ve been getting into film photography after my dad gave me his old camera, and this has been an excellent resource for me! Thank you for being easy to understand and a generally cool person!
I'm planning to start shooting film soon, I have a Nikon L35 AF coming in the mail so I'm super excited to get to it! While waiting for it I've been binge watching film photography videos 😌 Anyway I love your channel!!
theharveydean understandable. to he clearly i only use the epson V550 to scan my negatives as POSITIVES. then i use negative lab pro to convert to a color image. so the actual epson scan software isn’t being used to convert my image to color, which is where all epson scanners are lacking
linus the quality you are providing is on par to a seasoned youtuber, if you were to make videos like this every week I could def see you grow with a huge audience on youtube. good stuff!
Bad Wizard thank you so much! i’m really hoping to put out videos of this caliber on a weekly basis alongside BTS videos of my upcoming shoots. thank you again. stay tuned!
Apparently, Kodak Instamatic 126 film cartridges can be reloaded with 35mm stock (which has sprocket holes on both sides) . I've processed these cartridges in the distant past :-)
Your videos are amazing!! I completely love the aesthetic of them, I'm not surprised though considering how amazing your photography is! Would be so fun to see vlogs/behind the scenes when you're taking pics, if that's not too much to ask for I understand there's already a lot of work going into the photos! Anyway keep up the great work :)
linus! king of photography! pls help me i’ve been researching all day and can’t decide which one to get between instant wide 300, lomo wide, or polariod originals, which instant camera would you recommend for someones first? thank you
Yo, love your vids!! But how are these prints on the glas made? It looks sooooo sick! Have you scanned the negatives for these prints on your v550? Because thinking about buing a v550.
Loved this 🤩 do u use the standard epson scan software or something else? Because I've seen you put the film directly into the scanner without the "guide", but if I do that with my v550 it gives me an error message 🤔
Marina Pierotti i use epson scan and scan my negatives as a positive - and then convert with negative lab pro. i’ll explain the error message and everything else in my scanning video, releasing next week.
Hahaha ektar is color negative - do you mean Ektachrome? You can develop slide film at home as long as you have the proper chemicals...it's just rather tedious and difficult (moreso than color neg home dev)
I think it's incredible - getting a TLR like a Rollie is great because they arent as limited shutter speed and exposure wise. My graflex 22's shutter speed cap is a 200th of a second...compared to my pentax 6x7 that goes to 1k.
I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyy need a film camera!!!! hey HR! where's that damn pay-check???
I am myself sort of photographer....love photography .... I would love to see more camera review and vlog from u .... And please post ur RUclips link in twitter bio....i thought u didn't had a RUclips channel till now.....😂 ..love ur vids. .....
hahaha i doesn't help everyone recommends them as intro cameras for medium format. i got this one like 6 months ago for that price (ya man did not know he could get more for it lol)
linusandhiscamera yeah he definitely didn’t! i just got one for $400 pretty much right out the box. i think i got a sick deal on it but when you said $125 i was like holy shit lmao
You're going to struggle scanning 4x5 film with the 550 as I believe it's not wide enough. I believe people do 2 scans and stitch the results reasonably successfully.

thank you soooo much! i was skeptical about the length but i think if i continue to make them this rich and interesting it won't be a problem :)

brooo so stoked for your channel!
theharveydean thank you so much 🥺
ayye. also heard a bunch of people hating on the v550 but all your stuff is insane that comes out of that thing. I was so surprised lol
theharveydean understandable. to he clearly i only use the epson V550 to scan my negatives as POSITIVES. then i use negative lab pro to convert to a color image. so the actual epson scan software isn’t being used to convert my image to color, which is where all epson scanners are lacking
Definitely a unique style for your video, i would say keep the style, or don’t, it’s always fun to try and see new things

WHAT?! did not know you can develop e-6 film?? Time to shoot some ektar.
Hahaha ektar is color negative - do you mean Ektachrome? You can develop slide film at home as long as you have the proper chemicals...it's just rather tedious and difficult (moreso than color neg home dev)

if I use a ordinary scanner it gonna do the work or it can't scan film?
i don't think an ordinary scanner will work.

How do you like the work your tlr produces? Im thinking of getting the Rolleicord tlr this weekend.
I think it's incredible - getting a TLR like a Rollie is great because they arent as limited shutter speed and exposure wise. My graflex 22's shutter speed cap is a 200th of a second...compared to my pentax 6x7 that goes to 1k.
