    Thanks man. One more thing I'd add to it.
    In the first 'page' of the ID manager interface you can chose whether you want a unique ID per item selected or a unique ID only for criteria matching items. For example if you want to group all doors and windows that are identical under the same ID number, then you would chose the latter. In answering TLOT Trike, I believe the criterias are there for you to specify which criterias are to be matched in order to assign the same ID to them.

    Great tutorial , thanks. I tried to change the ID of some fills but the Numbers are not in the logical order I selected. Can you help me to résolve this. Thanks

      I tried the Element ID Manager on fills, and it's not a configurable element type. Try using it on a model element!

      The same problem. How can you solve it?

    Something I'm trying to figure out at the moment is how to find duplicate IDs in a project. It doesn't look like the manager can do this / is intended to be able to search for IDs in this way? Scheduling is the best way I've found so far, but there's still room to miss things. Keen to hear anyone elses experiences / thoughts

      Hmm that is an interesting challenge. Usually I prefer having common ID's when elements are the same, so going the other way and finding duplicate ID's is not something I've tried to do. Probably schedules would be the way and list by quantity to see if there are duplicate ID's. Perhaps a python script could find them faster though...

    Couple of questions - What is the "Selected Criteria" panel for? Why would you want to add more criteria? Thx

    Thanks a lot! I just had across this video, I was thinking to shortcut of the problems when we multipy the element such as column or beam, they are based on from where they are moved, and you have to change manuelly each of the story of elements, is that works for that? I though but couldnt worked properly. Finger crossed!! I admire your effort!

      Thanks Burak. If your goal is to assign the element id's to columns and beams copied across the different stories, and include a story number in the name, you should be able to set this up by adding that to the naming convention. You'd still have to perform this for each story. Sorry I'm a little unclear on the question...

      There's also the "relink home story" option also, if that's where you were getting hung up relating to elements assigned to specific stories.

      @@CONTRABIM I tried to make it relink to home story but it didnt work properly and nothing changed, the problem that I'm trying to explain, when you moved for example; beams groups multipy from 3d, it's based on home story which I want to based where is properly elevation that element has, I hope I explained clearly with my broken english :/ :)

      Hi Mohammad, there are both 2D settings and 3D settings. You have the option there to show the header, x, y, z coordinates in 3d.

    How do you save as csv?

    • @CONTRABIM
      @CONTRABIM  6 лет назад

      Export a list of points to excel, then save as csv. Depending on what total station point control software you are using, the formatting of the columns may be slightly different, but it generally needs to be NAME / X / Y/ Z / DESC.
      I'll record a quick video on how to do this. Thanks for the question!

    Can I use this way to rename Grid automatically? :D

    • @CONTRABIM
      @CONTRABIM  5 лет назад +1

      I believe this tool only works on Element ID. The grid name is a separate field from the ID, so you can change the ID with this workflow but not the Grid Name. If you know your grid spacing you can use the Grid System tool which will automatically place and name for you though. Very useful once you play with it. Maybe i'll do a quick vid on that next...been a little while :)
