Just an LOA (that’s a type rating for experimental aircraft that have no type certificate)…train in two-seat glider with same engine mounted in same location
It's a great looking aircraft, but would look so much better if the engine was integrated / conformal with the body rather than looking like a scuba tank on the back.
Sure it would, but performance would suffer and costs would skyrocket. Just buy a VLJ. I don't think you understand the concept of different aircraft for different purposes.
@@garygolfer3243 I do, and I understand that the mission dictates design and mandates the most efficient and cost effective shape. I was just commenting purely on the esthetics.
Shevet Levi Roger that. At 3:30 the head-on view is nice with the intake peeking over. I like the look of small package power so prominently displayed. And it's gotta be the easiest engine swap for us low budget folks.
@@garygolfer3243 Agreed. To me jet engines are like mythological animals when you compare their size to the size of the aircraft they propel, whether an airliner or the engine on the subsonex, which doesn't look much larger than a large watermelon.
I’m amazed how small the engine is! And it looks quite smart too , i thought the wings would of been tapered but i suppose that would impact on the price?
Would love to see a walk around of this jet in a video.
Does this work? ruclips.net/video/IejjPFgvcB4/видео.html
@@markmaz56 thanks! It does.
No one should be allowed to have this much fun.
FAA walks in........
Beautiful video! The jet ooks badass in the charcoal livery.
It looks so so so good!
These are amazing! A revolutionary concept in civil aviation!
I hit the like button and one second later you gave me a thumbs up in video!
Capo!!! wonderful 🙋♂️🛩🛩
YESSSSS!!!!! More videos please!!!!! I gotta build a micro jet!!
I'm not sure I've ever wanted anything more
Looks fun! Now off to fly my BD-5J for X-Plane, because that's as close as I'll ever get to this. ;-)
Know that feeling, actually doesn’t look that complicated to build, I’m assuming rightly or wrongly it’s available in kit form.
The Sonex jet in black looks sooooooooo good.
alright... THIS must be freedom then.
I live near sun n fun I dont remember you guys coming in
Beautiful and amazing.
Absolutely beautiful
These are so awesome!
This is amazing. What a plane. Where can I find more information about the plane?
it’s a lightweight plane you assemble it yourself
never hear of these. real nice
amazing
Amazing plane. :)
Great video. I want one
What's the protocol with FAA when flying so close?
Not to do it with passengers for hire.

Excellent video footage and airmanship skills. Thanks for taking and sharing. What is the published TBO (or hot section intervals) for the engine?
300 hours
@@L39CFI wow! Is that hot section or overhaul?
awesome!!!
I need that matte black jet. How much does it cost to build a subsonex?
All-in around $150k
What is the engine out/glide ratio performance on this aircraft?
Excellent, 17-to-1 glide ratio
@@L39CFI Wow, that is excellent. Much better than I would have expected.
@@chaspfrank being as slick and clean configuration as it is thats very impressive
Great vidio, just curious what is fuel consumption ?
About 17 gph at 17,500 feet
What's the type rating needed to get into a microjet?
Just an LOA (that’s a type rating for experimental aircraft that have no type certificate)…train in two-seat glider with same engine mounted in same location

excellent, Why dont you wear an oxygen mask
In cross-country flying, how long of a leg could one reasonably plan with these jets?
About 250 nautical miles for planning purposes, but depends on wind
@@L39CFI Thank you !
What's the range on one of these?! This looks like so much fun!
250nm

Fuel load/range? Pressurised too?
278 lbs of fuel, 250nm range. Not pressurized but O2 installed for use with mask or cannula
what is the cost to buy and operate something like this?
About $140k, burns about 18gph of jet A
@@L39CFI oof
@@L39CFI it's not a small amount of money, but that is way less than I thought it would be.

About 250nm

"Hershey bar" wings are vastly simpler to build, which translates to cheaper. That's really the only advantage, but this isn't a combat jet.
@@mqbitsko25 No its not a combat jet but I’m sure many would enjoy that feature. LOL thanks for your comment

Not really. People pay more for cars.
