I have the Magicshine monteer 6500 and it is insane. The 8000 has to be overkill. I live in the Danish countryside and ride to work at 4am. The 400 setting is plenty good enough. The battery sits in the top tube bag. The only downside is the weight of the Battery. My model now has the handlebar control so you have a high and low beam switch.

I was quite excited when I finally got two of the best mountain bike lights according to many reviews: two Monteer 8000 v2 for handlebar and helmet. However, the Garmin mount broke twice as I was only trying to remove the light from the handlebar mount after winter fat biking. When the 1st one broke, I had to exchange about 15 emails and finally got replacement. I had to pay for the mounts (I got a few spares) and also a new handlebar mount since I damaged it when trying to remove the mount stuck in it. I also paid for shipping. Apparently the warranty was not applicable on that brand new lamp. The lamp and remote are great but sadly the mount is way too fragile, even if you are a careful person. The rubber strap should also offer more grip. I used to ride with cheap lamps and never had any issue!
Novsite 1600 on bar InFun GT200 on Helmet Thats the best cheap combo with wide beams Looking at gour 80- 100 depending how hrs you look at vendors when purchasing
For me personally, a multi-mode bike light is the better choice for road driving. In this way, the lighting can be adjusted according to the environment to suit the scene.
I bought this but the battery stopped working after 3 months. I broke my own rule on my buying from Chinese companies and payed dearly for that. Would rather pay double for something that’s not gonna break
Another (possibly better) option is the Outbound lighting Trail Evo combined with the Hangover. Wireless, but with a usb-c pass through charging for extended rides.
@@MTBRadDad evo is widest beam youll ever come across The hangover on the other hand is more if a spot....their new Detour will make better helmet light with better battery burn time
@@MTBRadDad OK, 2 on the bars an one on the head. I was thinking that Dual 3500 is better than a single 8000 as you can aim them for more coverage and spend a lot less. And you have a backup.
Place them far from each other, as close as grips as you can .. Angle slightly out if able This will widen your spill/spread An insane with dual combo for bar woold be 2 evos lol, but that'll double your $$$ needed
I bought a 8000 three months ago and my battery already died. I knew better then to buy anything from a Chinese company as quality and QC are notoriously bad. so you could say that’s my fault for doing it anyway. Before anyone comes here claiming theirs didn’t break. I ride 10 - 15 miles a day even through winter.
you don't need 8000 lumens for sure, specially at very dark night. But the battery life is very useful if you are travelling very remote with no power supply.
In my mind, you can never get too much light. It seems that MTB lights are always reviewed in dry conditions. When it is wet out there, you need so much more light. Also, I would never ride with just one light as suggested in the video. First of all, if it fails at high speed, you are doomed. Secondly, you need a helmet light to see obsracles like branches on trees in the woods. You will be blind above the height of the handlebars if you only have one light.
You must be lucky! That was my experience with the original magicshine and why I purchased the 8000 but I wish I could get a refund and I want others to be aware of the major degrade in quality and cheap cables. It's been a very frustrating situation with the 8000.
I felt like I was watching a professional review channel 🤘🏽 great job on this one
Aww thanks Sheyn!
Very interesting. Summer desert riding! But yeah, I’m going to check these out for myself. Thx for the video!
Nice review!
Thanks!

their stock mounts were ok, the metal ones I got from them were alot better.
Dude that things bright. I have been using a 1200 lumen night rider just one and my bar. It is really bright but I want this one🔥🔥🔥🔥
Even the 3500 lumen light is awesome 👍🤘

Did you submit a warranty claim? the lights have 2 year warranty and the battery has a 1 year warranty
I'd love some, Never at that price though.

I need to get my hands on those, i have heard good things.

Hello is the magicshine light base here in the USA or China ? I can’t seem to find it in their website- thanks
their HQ? No Idea
The Olight rebranded 3500 is $120 on Amazon, would you be better served with a twin light setup on the bars?
You would lose the ability to look thru corners. With lights only on the bars you loose the ability to do turns well imo.

Will it melt squirrels or other small nocturnal animals? #worried
I just bought this 4 my e bike. I want people to see me coming.

Are magicshine products and batteries any more safe/reliable than the earlier gen products? Caveat I haven’t watched this vid all the way through yet
Il be honest, I have not heard of about any issues with the previous products. So far everything I have has been great without any issues.
@@MTBRadDad first gen products… roughly 2010ish… we’re notorious for either exploding or catching actual fire if I remember correctly.

Bro trust me I have 2 beastly lights the monteer 8000s and the 3500 for my headlamp and you don't ever need to use the head torch
Ever ...
You really need a external battery?
For this one yes
Anything to terrorize the cars that want to corner you on the street. Imma try it out
😂
Compare it to the Lupine Alpha with real 8000 Lumens
If they wanna send me one sure haha 😂
Looks sick but $400?!?
Haha yeah, its not cheap, but it is also 8000 lumens lol.
Do you have to wear sunglasses?
😂 you could lol
These lights are crap and not to be trusted. Used to be a MagicShine fan, purchased the 8000 and it has continuously failed. Do not buy this light!
Been using them for years, never had an issue. 🤷🏼

There $557 on mtb direct
Thats more than retail.
Get 2 outbound evos and call it a day if you want insane lighting
Itll be about 480 for the pair
