  • When flying in Russia, it was hard to find one of the classic Russian airframes fitted with the same cabin. Most of the planes changed companies many times. Aeroflot and Rossiya had pritty unified cabins on their TU-134 and TU-154M, but there were some rare exceptions. One was "912", which was a VIP TU-134AK during the Soviet Union and became a part of the Russian Special Flight Detachment. It also flew some time with Rossiya and is now part of the fleet of the Ministry of Inner Affairs of Russia. At the time the plane flew for Rossiya it had a great cabin fitting, mostly held in pink, with a "Salon" business class (with a table in the middle) and three separate cabin sections, and for the finish the cabin had the great TU-134 curtains in pink! From the outside the Special Flight Detachment planes were easily distinguishable, since they carried the coat of arms instead of the Russian flag on the vertical stabilizer! Altogether this was a great ride and a worthy substitute for the scheduled TU-154M!
