Before I saw that interview on Diary of a CEO I had no idea who Dr. Barnard was. After watching it, and along with my overall frustration of being overweight and unhealthy, I started a WF plant based diet cold turkey 7 weeks ago. As of today I’ve lost 17 pounds and can’t imagine going back. I can’t even explain how good I feel and how easy it can be. I have to thank Dr. Barnard for challenging everyone to “just try it for three weeks and see how you feel”. I took that challenge and am so glad I did. My friends and family all thought I was crazy but I literally knew in the middle of week two that I was not going back to my old eating habits. That’s how fast I saw and felt results. None of this would have happened without that interview. When I noticed it was gone it really ticked me off. Seriously, Diary of a CEO? Over a discussion of the Vegan diet in 2024?! Do better!
the same happened to me 5 years ago. I heard him once, I changed, I ve been feeling better ever since. Every year I feel better and wonder where it will stop. I m very happy for you you could hear him too. Good luck and all the best !

@@polibm6510 From what I see online, it's the meat eaters that get most emotional over this, and most likely to resort to throwing around personal insults. Veganism-promoting scientists all seem totally chilled, kind and respectful. And they also not only follow the science but a lot of them actually DO the science, not what they want the science to be. The reason for the militant carnivores behaviour is obvious, given that the ethical and environmental case for going vegan is obvious and indisputable, optimising health is the only argument the carnivores have, so they can't go where the science is going because that would mean they would have to give up meat. And they don't want to, because it's so damn tasty and because they have built up lucrative careers from telling people what they want to hear. I used to listen to them. I get it. I was eating paleo diet for 15 years for health reasons alone. Now been vegan for a week and will never go back. It's been a much easier adjustment than going paleo was. And much cheaper too (I was eating grass fed/pastured only).

Dont mean it in a nasty way but you maybe missing some nutrients?
@@Spock_Rogers I was actually surprised, that my food addictions (and even coffee) gone after few weeks in WFPB. And now, even small amout of oil in (or on) the food spoils all the taste and actually I do not like it AT ALL.
Worse than the fact that you will die prematurely is the fact that you’ll be disabled sooner and longer than those who follow a whole food plant based diet. Congratulations for admitting it’s an addiction. I know a lot of people who are more energetic than ever when consuming vast quantities of alcohol and illegal drugs.
I have to think the massive increase in colorectal cancer is being caused by the keto and adkins and paleo diets the past 10 years and the dramatic increase in meat being consumed. I wish those cancer patients had their diets deeply evaluated and statistically analyzed.
I watched Dr. Barnard on doac YT channel and he was magnificent! It was my first time watching the channel and I found the host to be cold, rude, and very biased. At the beginning of the episode the host was begging the audience to subscribe which made it very clear his #1 objective was to grow his channel. Before the video was taken down I scrolled through the comments. Wow. So many haters...and of course they were threatening to unsubscibe and report the episode to YT as misinformation. I wouldn't be surprised if beef council and/or dairy industry were behind all of the negative comments. Thankfully, the interview is still available on Spotify.
I was so addicted to cheese and thought I couldn’t live without it but by listening to what it really was, how it hurt the animals and what it does to the body it was easy to change.
Brilliant interview thank you for your time gentleman. The public need educating. I've been vegan 9 years, and not always healthy but i try the more i learn.
What a brilliant interview. So good to get Joe’s genuine perspective as someone who wants to understand for his own goals and also get the healthy message out there for those of us who have the same questions and desire to improve our health and weight, while reducing suffering for animals. And then Neil’s amazing knowledge, kindness, respect for Joe’s questions and ability to get his message across to us ordinary non-scientific mortals. Inspirational.
I immediately unsubscribed from doac channel when heard the news. Our power is and always has been resistance and conscious choices. Our focus and attention has power. Spend it wisely. 💚
11:48 Thank-you for saying this. I think this systems-approach is needed for all things. People wanna blame 'poor people' for 'being lazy', etc., when it's largely the systems that we born into that dictate what happens.
As big business starts switching into plant based foods, I have watched the quality of those foods go down. Plant milks now are loaded with inflammatory ingredients like carrageenan. Make your own plant milks, soak the nuts, drain and blend with fresh water for a delicious homemade plant milk. We need to take control of our foods, we can no longer look for convenience, because being sick is not convenient it will suck up all your time trying to get well.
I finally got time to finish watching this interview. Joe Best asked some really great questions to Dr Barnard that I have never heard other interviewers ask him. Very informative information, thank you so much, Joe! Xx
yes, i only found out about the food industry when I was diagnosed with lupus and my medication didn't seem to help anymore. 8 years ago my daughter was diagnosed with tipe 1 diabetes she was 15, caused by a autoimmune gene. And then the doctors and nutritionist told us she must cut out saturated fat, carbs and sugars and eat more white cheese, lean meat and drink milk at at night to keep her sugar level more constant.. and i have done research, and all the diabetic information said basically the same.. Now from learning everything about food, I'm like very furious about what we don't know, as a mother we want the best for our children and not feeding them ticking bombs on their plates. I'm a Vegan now for a month, and I'm learning everyday.. with my Lupus, I don't have inflammation anymore, and healing everyday more and more. Thank you for making this videos
and a month ago my daughter's doctor told her, her cholesterol is high, we have to get it down otherwise she must go on medication. Its a new doctor, she told us to look into the plant base diet, so this information is also what triggered my research into the meat and dairy industries.
Dr. McDougall and Dr. Milton Mills have alot of videos about type 1 diabetes being CAUSED BY MILK in young kids! The cow proteins seep thru the intestinal wall into the bloodstream of a human, the human sees cow proteins as an invasion, so the body creates antibodies to help fight the cow proteins. Problem is the cow proteins are molecularly similar to the pancreas cells, so the body starts attacking the pancreas thru molecular mimicry. Watch the videos, if u can't find them, I'll post them here. I'd cut the dairy for sure. Also reg your Lupus, did you know Dr. Brooke Goldner healed herself from Lupus? She wrote a book GOODBYE AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE and shares the protocol she used to cure herself, the protocol can also be used for other autoimmune diseases such as Hashimotos, Sjogrens, arthritis, MS, etc.
Amazing interview, Im in the UK and have followed a wfpb diet since July 21 following the work of Dr Barnard, Dr McDougall, Dr Esselstyn etc, it has changed my life. Even if I stray by eating non healthy food the odd time, I always jump back on at my next meal because this is what makes me feel good. I read that if you stick to a wfpb diet (no oil), you will never be obese again and that has struck a chord with me.
I watched my first episode of diary of a CEO just today. It was about menopause and it was ultimately an hour plus of “doctors don’t understand that all women need drugs”. First and last time I watch it. And this just confirms I am right. They’ve got pharma money somewhere in their pockets.
In time I've come to see the healthcare industry just like I see the meat industry: completely biased and highly damaging even to its own people, still, here's a man from the healthcare industry being such a valid exception. Thank you dr. Neal Barnard, you're a light into the doom of the medical abyss.
this is definitely a game-changing interview. I really couldn't answer people's questions about why their blood tests do worse right when they go plant-based and which specific foods are causing it - so I'm glad Dr. Barnard is super straightforward and easy to understand. I love his interviews best - because he is very clear, enthusiastic, and really is there! Now I know which video to send people to - thanks!! This is was the only question I would get stumped on - not anymore!
I saw the video as soon as CEO aired it and just raved about what a great interview it was, meanwhile Diary of CEO's podcast listeners went completely ballistic about it, that it was too "over the top" nutrition advice. I told CEO in the comments how it was fascinating how his podcast listeners practically jizzed all over the Bryan Johnson interview but freaked out at Dr Barnard when all Dr Barnard was doing was recommending the exact WFPB vegan diet that Bryan Johnson uses in his Blue Print protocol. How can these people NOT MAKE THAT CONNECTION?? WFPB vegan is THE diet for the planet and for human LONGEVITY. I get so enraged with their stupidity.
My advice if you want to lose weight is to fast after 6pm Nil by mouth until breakfast in the morning except for water of course... I have been doing it for many years and i don't feel deprived even as i'm so used to it ☮
This has been an amazing interview. Very caring and forgiving. People do have a hard time with food choices because of the advertising. You are very understanding. Vegan4life here. Took awhile but years now.
Prof. Bernard is right about promoting a plant based diet, and a vegan diet even helped a TypeOneTalks (a type 1 diabetic) so that he needs a great deal less insulin, after he found a way to cope or rather avoid drastic blood sugar spikes. When it comes to diabetes type 2, however, Roy Taylor from Newcastle University is the man: I know that we’d like to think that only a plant based diet can help, but that’s not what he found. Reducing the weight by about 15 kilos helped. This being said, he does advocate to “eat, not too much, and mostly plants”, though nutrition is clearly not his primary focus.
If you eat more calories than you burn, your body can also turn excess carbs into fat. I'm really wondering why he did not mention this. Btw, I'm vegetarian since age four and vegan since almost 8 years.
Everywhere I look lately I see Dr Barnard and I am so happy! He has so much great information. I just ordered two of his older books, one that you said turned your eating around for the better! I got his latest book about a month ago. Slowly getting them all ❤ thanks for the great interview!
Great interview! Good questions and lots of respect shown by both. Seeing neither of them speak over the other was refreshing -- my Doctor doesn't let me get a word in before he fabricates a different question to answer and talks over me : (
Seeing how other industries (oil and gas, pharma, drugs (yes, this is also industry per se), guns, manufacturing, Boeing, etc etc) treating their customers and environment, why food industry should be different. Their goal is profit, not the health of the customer. That's life. But it does not mean that we have to stay silent or ignorant and keep poisoning ourselves.
My mother's doctor told her she was "cured" of her diabetes and she went right back to her [food] addiction. I recently made the full change to WFPB and it was giving up the cheese that has made all the difference. After watching this interview, I cannot believe I ate cheese for so long.
I have just unsubscribed from Diary of a CEO. Very disappointing that people with the power to reach so many with the truth, decide instead (for whatever reason) to conceal it.
The cheese issue is central to the difference between plant based diet and veganism. Once you recognise the "why" of veganism, the "how" becomes simple.
Thanks so much for the interview! I learned some things I hadn't heard before. My husband and I started a plant-based diet in January after watching a PCRM video, and my a1c has already dropped almost a full point, and I've lost 15 lbs. We do not miss meat, eggs or dairy. We eat a variety of veggies every week with rice and love every minute of it. Dr. Barnard is my hero!
I'm 23, vegan since I was 15. I was never a big fan of cheese to be honest but... I think dairy-free alternatives can taste just as good, if not better! There are so many options these days. If you don't love the taste of a certain vegan cheese brand, try another one! Violife is my go to ✌🏻
Interesting. Here's a meta analysis that backs up everything the good MD was saying: "Cheese consumption and multiple health outcomes: an umbrella review and updated meta-analysis of prospective studies".

Great to know!
I think this "doctor" is on real crack, weganizm is cult, stay away from it?
This man will go down in the history books as a world class hero 👏
We would have to agree 🌱
I call some of the plant based drs, including Dr Barnard, legends of our time
I think this "doctor" is on real crack, weganizm is cult, stay away from it?
I love how engaged the interviewer is. He's laughing. And enjoying himself interviewing Dr. Barnard. One of the most greatest human beings ever. Neal Barnard is a true HERO ❤❤❤
haha it was a blast!
Dr Bernard is absolutely fantastic 👏🏼
You mean fanatic, right?
Thank you for this wonderful interview !
Everyone should share this, lots of valuable information !
Please do!
Absolutely the best interview I’ve seen all year. The best questions asked and such fabulous information! Thank you!
Thats great to hear!
. . . just loved, once again, Dr Barnard's brilliant information with his calm, kind & caring manner, as well as our wonderful host...God Bless You Both So Much... 🥰
i was a slim vegetarian eating 2 packages of cheese per day and i switched to a vegan eating chickpea stew everyday without missing cheese ever since. because chickpeas have an enzyme that produces happiness
Chickpeas.....Carbs....sugar
Interesting! I never knew that about chickpeas.
Dr. Neal is amazing. I absolutely love him!
I think this "doctor" is on real crack, weganizm is cult, stay away from it?
Joe Best is an excellent interviewer. I enjoy watching Dr Barnard and am a big fan. I think this interview is one of best I’ve seen. Joe’s questions were insightful and targeted. Dr Barnard answers were enlightening and most helpful to me. Thank you for an excellent discussion.
Thanks so much for this!
Cheese is so nasty.

What does that even mean? Lol.

Hmmm I see so you cant spell so use images.
I will try to guess what you are saying.
So first one has u and an r, so guessing that is your.
Hole emoji, laughing emoji and party popper.
Is it 'your hole laughs and parties'?
And 'bees go in holes and laugh'?
Not sure what is means though lol. Maybe you need to eat some blueberries, good for the brain apparently.
Dont mean it in a nasty way but you maybe missing some nutrients?
That is not images
I'm over my cheese addiction and I'm leaner and more energetic than ever. 👍
oh boy, how much I was addicted to chesse. when I think about the amount I have eaten...:((((
@@ZmogusJaponija Me too! I really had a hard time giving it up, but now I don't have any desire to eat the salty, greasy, stinky stuff.
Truly raw dairy is great for me, with the cows raised well,… that includes truly raw cheese. Not high heat raw, not thermized, just truly raw.
Now I started it and had to stop and when I tried to come back to it it was gone!!!! I knew deep down you were silenced!
Well done Joe and Neal for this awesome interview, thank you so much
I have to think the massive increase in colorectal cancer is being caused by the keto and adkins and paleo diets the past 10 years and the dramatic increase in meat being consumed.
Thank you Joe, Thank You Dr. Barnard
Thanks so much!
Brilliant interview thank you for your time gentleman. The public need educating. I've been vegan 9 years, and not always healthy but i try the more i learn.
Thanks for your time also! :)
Correction on my part, that should be Joe Best and Dr. Neal Barnard.
Thanks for this comment. Appreciated! It was a pleasure to interveiw Dr Barnard!

👍👍👍 Whole food plant based for the environment and health; vegan for the victims!

I immediately unsubscribed from doac channel when heard the news. Our power is and always has been resistance and conscious choices. Our focus and attention has power. Spend it wisely. 💚
Same! Steven was also rude af during the interview. Really letting his bias show.

Thank you, Doctor for your time and your intelligence!
Such a good interview! Dr. Barnard is one of the best, most balanced doctors I know of 🙂
He's great right!
I finally got time to finish watching this interview. Joe Best asked some really great questions to Dr Barnard that I have never heard other interviewers ask him. Very informative information, thank you so much, Joe! Xx
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks so much!
Thank you so much for this interview. I was wondering what happened to that DOAC interview. So disappointing they took it down.
It's still available to listen to on Spotify
I have now decided to like Dr. Barnrad. I don't know why it took so long.
I was wondering about why his DoCEO podcast got removed :(
yes, i only found out about the food industry when I was diagnosed with lupus and my medication didn't seem to help anymore.
Brilliant! One of the bests doctors!
Agreed!
Love love love dr. Neal! Thank you for the interview 😍🥑🥦
Excellent questions the interviewer asked. Very well done.
Thanks for the feedback!
Yay finally. We need to discuss this ❤❤
Amazing interview, Im in the UK and have followed a wfpb diet since July 21 following the work of Dr Barnard, Dr McDougall, Dr Esselstyn etc, it has changed my life.
Just came back after unsubscribing from DOAC. This is one of my new go-to channels, along with Physicians Committee. Thanks for this interview!
In time I've come to see the healthcare industry just like I see the meat industry: completely biased and highly damaging even to its own people, still, here's a man from the healthcare industry being such a valid exception.
Thank you dr. Neal Barnard, you're a light into the doom of the medical abyss.
Really good interview guys 👍
Thankfully never been addicted to cheese. Wish I'd gone vegan long ago but there ya go 🤷♀️
Thanks!
Absolutely loved this video! 💚 Thanks, you two!
Clear, concise, fact based, delightful. 👍
this is definitely a game-changing interview.
Great show Joe and you are a really great interviewer - very eloquent, to the point and easy to listen to.
Neil continues to get younger and younger
I used to watch every episode of diary of a ceo. Not any more, what a shame
Thank you Dr Barnard, you have helped me.
👏👏👏👏👏👏
What does WFPB mean?

TRUER WORDS HAVE NEVER BEEN SPOKEN. THANK YOU!
Loved cheese before I became a vegan 3 months ago. Now I couldn't think of anything more disgusting to put in my body😊
My advice if you want to lose weight is to fast after 6pm Nil by mouth until breakfast in the morning except for water of course... I have been doing it for many years and i don't feel deprived even as i'm so used to it ☮
Only helps if it helps you keep your calorie intake in the good range.
The fat you eat is the fat you wear
Love your channel and love Dr. Barnard. Thank you for this interview. Can’t wait to get the books❤
Oh, the morgue and the ribs story - never gets old :)
Amazing interview, thank you! 🌱💚✌🏽
Thanks for commenting
Thank you. Wonderful informative interview between 2 gentlemen.
Thanks
Dr Benards telling the truth, I was an embalmer. Death is death, a corpse is a corpse.
Honestly done with the diary of a ceo after this. Absolutely ridiculous!
This has been an amazing interview. Very caring and forgiving. People do have a hard time with food choices because of the advertising. You are very understanding. Vegan4life here. Took awhile but years now.
So glad you found it helpful!
This being said, he does advocate to “eat, not too much, and mostly plants”, though nutrition is clearly not his primary focus.
caloric reduction can be done more easily if one consumes higher percent fibre. Not that everyone wants to do this but worth pointing out.
This is one of the best informative interviews yet. Thank you! Keeping speaking the truth. God Bless
If you eat more calories than you burn, your body can also turn excess carbs into fat. I'm really wondering why he did not mention this. Btw, I'm vegetarian since age four and vegan since almost 8 years.
ask the channel to change their name to Dairy of a CEO (more appropriate)
Everywhere I look lately I see Dr Barnard and I am so happy! He has so much great information. I just ordered two of his older books, one that you said turned your eating around for the better! I got his latest book about a month ago. Slowly getting them all ❤ thanks for the great interview!
Great interview! Good questions and lots of respect shown by both. Seeing neither of them speak over the other was refreshing -- my Doctor doesn't let me get a word in before he fabricates a different question to answer and talks over me : (
Thanks so much!
Thanx for the nutritious interview.
The Diary of a CEO episode with Dr Barnard is still on Apple Podcast and Spotify!
It's a waste of time.....
2 questions
1. Why don’t more people use Carob powder instead of Cocoa ?
2. Does cinnamon lower blood pressure ?
Excellent interview. Thank you!
Thanks
Fantastic! Go vegan #savesoil
I loved it, thank you I loved it, thank you, it makes us think a lot about what we eat 😮🤔
Being on a plant based diet is as easy as not kicking puppies.
Veganism isn’t truth, it’s an ideology
❤ Thanks Dr. You did it again. Hugs from Costa Rica
Great job on asking questions that I understand :)
Great interview, cheese is disgusting 🤢🤮🤮
Thanks
The cheese issue is central to the difference between plant based diet and veganism. Once you recognise the "why" of veganism, the "how" becomes simple.
Great stuff. Calm, informative.
honestly would have never guessed that even nuts and seeds can contribute to fat gain and insulin resistance. mind blowing tbh.
Yes, if I start eating nuts or seeds, my weight loss stops
It is not often real disinformation is banned. This is one such case.
👏👏👏👏👏👏
I'm 23, vegan since I was 15. I was never a big fan of cheese to be honest but... I think dairy-free alternatives can taste just as good, if not better! There are so many options these days. If you don't love the taste of a certain vegan cheese brand, try another one! Violife is my go to ✌🏻
Interesting. Here's a meta analysis that backs up everything the good MD was saying: "Cheese consumption and multiple health outcomes: an umbrella review and updated meta-analysis of prospective studies".
