Been following you for years, watching near enough every single video, and a year ago l FINALLY managed to bring myself to bulk and get over needing to be super lean with veins everywhere. After being plateaued for literal years, l went from a 2 plate bench to finally benching 3 plates today!! I know it’s nothing special, but if it weren’t for you l’d forever be a 2 plate bencher, so thank you so much for opening my eyes to the fact that 15% body fat, and even bear mode still looks good!! You made me realise I don’t always have to be super lean, l wasted way too many years on that but glad l finally escaped the mental trap

THE POWER OF CONSISTENCY, BULKING, SETTING HIGHER STANDARDS, AND TRAINING THE RIGHT WAY!!! You rock, Ross. 3 plates is one of the best benching achievements and to hit it after being stuck at 2 plates for so long shows that we're all capable of so much more.

It's because other are believe in lifting light to failure can always get you gains without upping the weights nevers and those who do heavy weights only do it on deadlift which is useless for building muscle.

@@AlexLeonidas Thanks Alex. Would you mind answering a question I have if possible?
Basically, I'm currently on a 3 day per week PPL split and each muscle typically sees around 6-8 sets per week (pretty much all until near failure) but I'm not sure if this is too low in volume.
I did try upper lower 4 day split and full body 3 day but found towards the end of the workouts I was so drained of energy I sometimes couldn't actually finish the workout or just did less sets.
What would you recommend in this scenario? Stick with PPL, or try to stick it out with one of the others? Cheers.

I’m not that strong but I’ve been progressing more recently. 140lb & I’m squatting 165 for low reps but I don’t half rep, if anything I try to do paused ATG but I need to get in the 200s at very least. I’m being out lifted by females my weight. Diet has always been my struggle. I was really skinny when I was young. Honestly I watched your channel for a long time and I didn’t even lift the entire time. Looking back I could think how dumb I was for wasting so much time but I had so many other bad habits like drinking that I had to get over first before I could be disciplined. But now that I’m really lifting consistently I have all the knowledge that your channel has given me, & it’s priceless. My problem is lifting too light but that has prevented me from getting injured. I do everything beltless. I should do your novice program but I’m intimidated by full body. Upper lower is already intense enough for me tbh

In their video about "How Many Exercises Should You Do Per Muscle To MAXIMIZE Growth?" posted 7 months ago, Dr.Mike talks about that in most cases, finding 1-2 good exercises per mucle per session, and hammer these with multiple sets, will lead to you getting in a better groove each sets and get a better mind-muscle connection , instead of having to move around to different machines, waiting, re-warm up, etc. As a newbie, i really dont know what would be better. For pull-aparts try doing one arm at a time using a cable machine (or perform side lying with a dumbbell or plate). This will let you get a better range of motion and a better resistance curve.
