The only issue that I ever had with the Federation economy (and this may very well be coming from a current-day standpoint) is that there had to exist some medium of exchange because not every Federation world has a post-scarcity economy. The Ferengi knew this and were able to take advantage of it.
Can you make a definitive guide on the technologies of each faction like you do on geetsly this will include technologies like phasers/disruptors, shields, ships, teleporters, holodecks?
My main issue is how earth fought a war with a fully fledged interstellar empire with just a handlefull of ships. Two possible workarounds are: (one)earth has a fleet around three to four thousand ships but its part of a fragmented fleet due to earth not being truly unified. (Two) Earth ronulam war was fought how the united states air force fought the goauld in stargate sg1 - through asymetric means as well as taking advantage of their enemies high levels if arrogance.
That is why I have always liked the show above other sci-fi shows, like Star Wars or Babylon 5, etc. -> aside from the space fiction element, that is Earth should evolve into = United Earth/UFP -> I hope it will come some day, not in thousands o f years, but in a few centuries ...
Unlikely. The real life “Liberal-Democratic, Rules-Based Order” the UFP was modeled on is already collapsing under the weight of its contradictions. History suggests that the only stable international (and thus interstellar) polities are Imperial in organization and hierarchical in culture.
This guy sounds familiar somehow.
Edit: It's Geetsly's narrator.
"It's a Federation propaganda!"
"I know, and it's working!"
"Triple the Starfleet budget!"
"What budget? We don't use money..."
