I wish you would have shown how you set the freeze dryer for the process for all of us newbies, for all that piled up fruit did you add extra drying time or did the freeze dryer do it automatically? figuring out how to set drying time is so scary right now. Loved this video, and your kitchen. That jar sealer was to dye for.
I use the basic preset almost all the time. The fruit dried perfectly. Once in a while, I add a couple hours to the freezing time....depending on how moist the product being processed is
HOW LONG did it take? How did they store? Strawberries are notorious for holding moisture in the seeds and wrecking the whole batch. Do you have any stored from this run that you can share how they stored?
It took about 48 hrs. They’re perfectly dried. Never have had a problem. I use a vacuum sealer and put oxygen absorbers in each jar. I’ll show the next time I do some. 😂😂these are all gone. They’re delicious!!! Thank you for watching!
Ms Gay, I just love your kitchen. Red is my favorite color of all and I love all of your gadgets. Thank you Linda’s Pantry for referring me to your channel. Keep up the good work.
So jealous!! Wish I could afford a freeze dryer and jar sealer! I do the next best thing with my dehydrator and jar sealer attachments with my vacu-sealer. Not quite as good, but it'll do! By the way - Happy Mother's Day!
I just discovered your channel and I am obsessed with your kitchen!!!!! Seeing both VacMaster and a Harvest Right tells me you are a wise foodie! Hello from the Carolinas! Those strawberries look fantastic.
Amazon has that chopper same brand $345 I bought mine about a year ago to chop French fries to can I heard about that chopper after watching one of your video’s What size freeze dryer did you get LG or XL I want to order mine soon Love your videos❤ God bless you and your family ❤
Thanks for your video! My husband and I purchased a Harvest Right a few months ago. I recently did some strawberries, but they weren't completely dried (they didn't snap, were coldish and slightly wet inside). We have the initial Freeze at minus 10F, and the at 1:00 hour the Dry Temp is 125F and is 2:00. I get the impression that your freeze dryer can determine how much time it will take. Is there something we need to have our be this way? We can change the two times I have underlined, so I am able to pull them out at the end of Extra Dry Time, check and if not ready, I can add more time. Your method seems easier and more sure... it's disappointing to go through hours and hourss of freezing only to take them out and find that they're not all completely dried. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
Laurie..I don't know. My freeze drier is older. It has a preset ( I can adjust) freeze time of 9 hours........ middle up to 30 hrs as needed ( it decides)....and a final dry of 7 hours ( that we can bump up. if needed) The newer ones must be different.
I got it from etundra.com it’s a Nemco easy chopper 2. You have to add the extra chopping blades. One comes with it. There are 1/4 and 1/2” dice blades and slice blades. I love it!
Good morning! I have two questions - 1 ) do you change/filter your oil, per use w/ your dryer - or did you purchase the accessory that bypasses those steps ... if so, did you find it to be worth your additional investment? In addition, if you could change anything about your Freeze-Dryer, what would it be? And 2 ) oh, my ... where can I find your slicer?!? - I would love that in my life! #bestillmybeatingheart I am really enjoying your uploads - thanks so much for being here ... and many thanks to Linda’s Pantry for guiding us to you [applause]
I upgraded to the oil less pump. I love it. Totally worth it for me. The chopper is a Nemo easy chopper2. I ordered it from etundra.com. I got several different blades. The 1/2” and 1/4” slicers and dicers. I guess I am satisfied with the freeze dryer...it does take a long time on some items and I get impatient 😂😂😂😂. Thank you so much for watching and subbing. I appreciate it!
Ha, I had a feeling that was going to be your answer - I’ve been reading-up on this, and I’m understanding that it’s a lot more fun w/o the additional maintenance Thank you for your reply - much appreciated
Hi Gay! We have a Harvest Right, medium freeze dryer. I just ran across your videos, which are great. I do have a question about your Nemco Easy Chopper, which one do you have? Thanks, Mindy
Mindy, I have the easy chopper 2. I love it. If you get one, you get one blade with it.....so price the ones you want, and, order it with the most expensive one. Saves a little bit.
@@ApronstringsGayJordan Thank you! Which blade do you use the most with your freeze dryer? We were thinking that the 1/4 inch would be the most beneficial. Thanks and May God Bless You!
Hi Gay! I'm watching your older videos while I wait for my hubby to get home from work. The roads are bad and I can't sleep until I know he's home. I had to comment to say how pretty that top is on you. The colors suit you. Thank you for sharing your gadgets and the process for them. God bless! ❤
