Thank you for putting out the video. Having a Filipina with shared interest is very important. My Filipina lady is a teacher and loves to read, study and learn everything possible. Having the ability to have discussions on politics, economy, and everyday life keeps us closely connected. I am not saying a Filipina from the "province" is wrong but make sure she is not a "yes" lady.

I totally agree with you Matt Wilkie and very well said video. Intellectual match is very important so that a couple can discuss everyday topic of interest. This is especially significant as we all approach our golden years and companionship alone would be number one in our list. If sex is someone's priority, why get married. I would say choose your partner with the same intellectual and educational attainment, otherwise, what is there to talk about? Remember, any relationship should be a partnership and friendship.☺

Great video matt, makes a lot of sense.i was married to a filippina got her over to Australia and she was a different person found out she only used me to get herself and 3 yr old daughter into the country she was looking for a younger guy when she got to Australia,.marriage losted 3 yrs then i divorced her, i was 65 at the time, came back here when i was 69 after meeting a girl on fb was friends for over 2 yrs then decided to call it a day living in Australia as everything was so expensive to live, sold everything came over here to Philippines to see my then gf she just started to get a nice new home in an estate.i moved in with her only to find out she wanted me to pay everything as she didnt have a job, after 7 mths found out she was seeing other men while being with me a real bi pola person i ended up leaving her she was too aggressive to me, now i have another one ive been with for 4 yrs now but she gets too moody if we have an argument and wont talk to me for 2-3 days so at the moment just playing it by ear then looking for someone a bit older say 50 plus as this one is just 40 but at times a bit immature.in her ways.the ex gf i had was 42 but in the end a real nut case..

This is a great video. I just hate how one foreigner gets scammed or had a bad experience and suddenly the entire race is already stigmatized. You are right, people are people some should learn NOT to see base on skin color or race. Thankful for people like you for having a wider understanding. Such simple thing could actually make this world a better place. :)

I am an American who is widowed and not having any good experience in dating here in the US. I work with a lot of Filipina men and women and have dated a few Filipina women here and got a taste of what it is like dating a Filipina girl. I love asian women with there long black hair, tan like skin, petit body and shy behavior. Of all the asian women abroad the Filipinos mostly speak english very well. I meet a nice young Filipina girl at one of the christian dating websites and traveled there multiple times to meet her and her family and we fell in love with her and the islands there. We are engaged to be married and had a great time traveling and exploring different islands resorts from Subic bay to Cebu, Dipolog,Palawan and of course Boracay. Going to check out Illilo next to see if I may want to live there when I retire but will always have a home here in US.yes its mostly hot and humid there but there are places where it is not that bad but thank God for Aircon.I love how most of the people there have good family values and are generally happy, don't stress out and laid back. She is now pregnant and we are excited to have our first child. I am not a lazy fat old guy. I eat healthy and very active. I fell 40 years younger when i am there with her. When I come home after visiting there my daughter says I look and seem younger, happier and less stressed out. I you are looking for the fountain of youth I have found it in the Philippines. I love all water sports and the Philippines is a great place for that kind of activity. I am blessed to have all this energy at my age and to find a nice girl to spend the rest of my life with. thanks Matt for your information about the Philippines and Filipina people hooking up with foreigners who plan to live there

Glad you enjoy the videos, I agree with you totally I think its the "stress free" attitude with most Filipina women I have met. They don't seem to get caught up in the nonsense that often pollutes Western life. Often content with what they have and in no rush to change things. What is wrong with a less complicated life?? Answer is many people don't like seeing other people happy unfortunately.

For unmarried Expat, better to look for a matured/well-educated Filipina whose age is between 25 and 40 years old. But he needs lots of sacrifices to know/study her instinct and maturity in facing life through long-term relationships (probably at least 1 year) before deciding whether to marry her or not...

Good points. I have seen expats with girls that had married them without really liking them. I had one girl tell me that she would marry me and it did not matter what I looked like or what I wanted to do with my life, it was enough that I would support her and give her a child. Mind you she was attractive and a nurse, but she was 28 and desperate to do what her family told her she should do, ie married with a child. I finally told her that I could sense that she did not even like me and that I was unwilling to be in a relationship with her.

Western/westernized women are ok (they're not all bad), it's all about the added warmth and sweetness of a Cebuana. And I'm not talking about the ones who just nod and say "yis" whenever I say something they don't quite understand like "This riesling is a bit too sweet, don't you think?"
Matt is spot on in specifying finding a partner with an education and a level of independence so she's with you because she loves you and not because she sees you as the golden ticket out of poverty.

The brainwashing has nothing to do by supporting the family...!, In case you don't know, supporting the family in Philippines even those Filipina's have already their own family, still they continue to support their parents or siblings financially, its a gesture of Love & care to the whole families w/c many Westerner's didn't care about their own, that's why Filipinos are been blessed bec. of this gesture's of Love to the families. We were not been forced to help out our families back home, but it's our love that care's so much to the families, what blessings we have, we are glad to share it also to our families, w/c many foreigners don't understand it.

Just FYI, educated Filipina women would not usually date any foreigner in the Philippines because they are already self sufficient financially, they would rather marry someone locally who has equal educational attainment (collegiate ) like they do. Most ex pats in the Philippines are on social security pensions and make less than $1000.00 per month. It would be very difficult to live with this pension unless you lower your standard of living. They mostly attract poor uneducated women, and this is a fact... just saying.

    • @mattwilkie
      @mattwilkie  8 лет назад +1

Hi Olivia, would have to say for the majority you are correct. But also knowing some women from fairly wealthy and well educated backgrounds the guys they seek is more to move away from the local issues. E.g. from political dynasty families they want a disconnect. But foreigners also includes South Korean's for example that I know several women have been looking for the right guy for the last 3 years.

    Mr. Wilkie,
I would like to add-on a counter view on why most Filipino/a wants kids (that is more than one) ...simple and practical reply is ...in order to have someone take care of them when they get old...usually this responsibility falls to the eldest or the youngest siblings or an unmarried sibling, or the one who is not financially dependent, but will be supported by other financially able siblings.
Yes, It is a very selfish mentality that most traditional-minded Filipino have and they try to hide it as being family oriented and xtian value. If they really value their family they should think of the quality of lives that their children lived and not the number of kids they have...and the hopes that one of them be hostage of guilt to take care of them in old age.

    • @filipinadreamer2771
      @filipinadreamer2771 7 лет назад +2

While I agree with you that having too many kids are being irresponsible as parents, I would like to say that taking care of our parents is NOT a bad Filipino trait or tradition. We are proud and honored and love taking care of our parents. There are also other nationalities who take care of their parents. The only difference between us is, we take care of our parents out of love, while most of you take care of your parents out of practicality (It's much cheaper than putting them in a Nursing Home).

100% agree with you there. For me as a parent, I would not expect my daughter to look after me when get old. I would try and get that organise myself.
We only have short life to live in this planet and it’s not my children’s fault that they were born. True love is about doing your job as a parent without expecting one in return. I would not want my children to have the burden of taking care of me when I get old. I want them to live their lives how they want and to fulfill their dreams free from the burden of looking after an old fart like me.
      By the way I’m pinoy.

Great Video. Sophisticated matchmaking programs can tell you which countries you will be most and least compatible for dating; based on demographics of culture, tradition, religion, and other metrics that can be mathematically calculated. An atheist, nudist, child-free type who enjoys nuclear physics, probably would have difficulty finding a Filipina compatible for long-term. My previous observation is that most foreigners are there not for the cost of living or tropical location (sound points), but to get a higher SMV lady (younger and hotter) than they can get back home. I believe matchmaking programs would find most foreigners, especially those who are highly educated and less traditional, incompatible with Filipinas. So, they can only go for short-term "fun". As the saying goes, you can't find gold in a silver mine (not that there's anything wrong with silver if that's what you're into).

If you make another video, it would do you credibility to state your background, what knowledge and experience you have with the Philippines.
In short. I first went to the Philippines in 1989. But before I went, and the internet was in it's infancy, I read every book I could find on the country and subject. Much attention was given the Philippines after the Marcos marshall law.
I lived in Seattle, so even then, there was a large population of Filipino. Seattle has always been a gateway to the Orient. So I talked to them when I had a chance.
I got married to my second Filipina in May of 1989.
Married ten years. It didn't work out.
One lone Philippine law makes a Filipino a sanctioned thief. This is the biggest trouble when married to one of those girls. Her family.
Always creates friction. A law you the foreigner is never told about.
Because of her attitude, I went to college to understand how a person could be as she was.
Familiarity Breeds Contempt. Once you know everything about the common attitude of those girls, you actually see there is not much variation in there personalities.
In 2001, I married my 3rd Filipino girl. Having been around them that much, I have learned more than the average guy. And lived in the PI more than 2 and half years.
Sure you may say it was my fault somehow, or why was I stupid enough to get married that many times.
But I don't give up easy. If I put my mind to something, I will invest the time to make it work. One old book I read talked about the traditional Filipina, of old. I wanted to see if it was true or not.
Many of my classmates in college never graduated, all of them guys. There's a low graduation rate for men, where the majority of women do.
So I would counter what you said about Filipina. They have a short list of variables.
They are not much different from one another.
Example. I was married in San Pedro Catholic Church in Davao. I went to the seminar required by the church to get married.
About one hundred people were there. I was the only white guy. The speaker separated us. The men sat left to him the girls to the right.
In our group of men, we had one Pinoy, who had that beaver type personality. ( See personality types). He had glasses. He wouldn't laugh like the rest of us joker boys. I fit in easy with Pinoys because I love to joke too.
I looked at all the girls. None of them stuck out as being different from any of the others. Maybe my fiancee, because she was the best looking, but she acted like the rest of the hens.
All laughing giggling, putting their hand over their mouth like Filipina do. Looking at each other. Telling each other who their next victim, I mean husband was.
I could look at that as a control group. Learn something more about the Filipino.
In the introduction of your video, you make general statements that can apply to many people. But they don't fit the context of the Filipino people.
You have to know what Pinoy Pride is and Crab Mentality, traits that are common for them, and description coined in their country.
They are an overly jealous people. Shallow, easy to be offended. Simple minded.
Food is a big big part of their culture. Where westerners enjoy food/eating, an outsider can see it as excessive attention to it.
It takes some getting use to when you visit a Filipino in their house and they shove food on you even when you are satisfied with what you ate.
Just make sure none of it has patis in it.

    • @mattwilkie
      @mattwilkie  Год назад

Hi, my experience is 8 years in country and married 15 years. You are correct there are similarities, but also relates to the groupings. As you will find wealthier Filipinos suffer with the same problems that often occur with Westerners. But also I find the education and understanding of things is very different based on the social groups.
But for the majority of foreigners they associate with the group you describe which makes the understanding of that type of mannerisms and traits familiar to most. But there are other groups out there along with different mentalities. However they aren’t as prevalent in expat communities.

    • @jesse75
      @jesse75 Год назад

@@mattwilkie correct. A person could never expect an old white dude go to Makati and hook up with a 20 year old girl.
Like you said. A total difference in environment. But that's not the norm. One side of the fringe of the bell curve.
Takes a good amount of money to live in places like that. And you have to have a car and live like we do in our own country.
What is making these girls think they are the cutest thing on the planet ?
Even barangay girls in rags ? But they have a cellphone, but no running water ?
Filipina is a near borderline narcissist. What makes them this way ?
Most women are an exhibitionist, but Filipina take it to the next level, wait till botox enters into the culture on the cheap.
      Especially this tick tock craze.
My wife, Beth her friend and sister are going nuts on that thing.
Is it because Filipino is addicted to the funny too ?
Often overlooked about Filipino is this obsessive trait, of the funny.
There's more to do in the Philippines than just chicks obsessed.
In Quiapo I befriended a Pinoy that rewinds speaker voice coils on a blown woofer.
Went to his house, and he taught me.
My second wife, her father in Mindanao has a farm by a river. It flooded and left hardwood loggs on the corn field.
I brought over a 090 chain saw. Cut the wood.
An uncle. We went out fishing in south china Sea.
I built a house. Planted a farm. Learned how to operate a Cabo, living tractor.
Smuggled a 175 Yamaha. Cut the frame in 5 pieces to do it.
There's a lot of things to do in the Philippines.
I built A-7's, it's my house system, but the barangay uses it for their festivals.
I don't see how these expats can just sit around, look at themselves, drink beer, and do nothing.
I brought over from United States one pound of tomato 🍅 seeds.

This guy only appeals toFilipina that belongs to lower level in society. He only catches maids but not well educated intelligent and wealthy Filipina. A rich and well educated Filipina will never like your kind.

Problem with those scamming it's their business. So they sit on the online dating asking for money. While good women work.
