Really terrific work here as usual, and quite possibly your best yet- certainly my favorite, at least! I think you've done a wonderful job of setting up the world and characters in such a short amount of time, and the surreal/dreamy elements are obviously wonderful looking but are also still easy to follow, which can be hard to pull off. I love the artistic vision you bring to brickfilming, it's something the community needs more of. Great stuff, man. 🖤
Dude this is absolutely amazing to read considering that you and i are not so different, you have such a unique artistic vision you bring to your films and are legit one of the best brickfilmers around rn. I really appreciate the comments, means a lot especially on a project that delves into slightly more mature themes and pulls from my own experiences. And yeah, the surreal and dreamy stuff was definitely hard to pull off, i thought of the simplest way i could say something then put it in a wild and surreal environment. Once again thanks man ❤️
This is a true piece of art. Your directing is truly great, and your brickfilms have a definite style, which cant be said for most brickfilmers. Keep em coming sir!
Thank you! I really like to hear comments like these because I've been really trying to develop a signature style over this year, and comments like this show me I've succeeded.
This was amazing bro. This reminds me a lot of interstellar and how he's in like the 5th deminsion or something at the end of the movie, trying to stop himself in the past from leaving murph. I especially love the scenes from 0:20 - 1:20. The vibrant colors going back and forth, the taped footage of his past going by with the music, man. I really loved the reverb in the music. Something about it. Great job man.
Thank you man! I'm really glad to hear you liked it that much. Funnily enough, I've never actually fully seen Interstellar, so i had no idea about the similarities haha.
Many people say that deep serious meaning can't be conveyed through Lego, and most of the time I agree, but your brickfilms counter that notion. This was great. You also had some nice special effects in here like the glass breaking and water splash. Good job.
Thank you so much man! With more serious brickfilms like this, it's always a worry in the back of my mind that because it's lego, i can't break through the barrier of emotion and resonate with people. So i love reading comments like yours! And thank you about the animation, tried to really do some visually pleasing things there.
Thank you! I really wanted to "submerge" the audience into the film in a way, and i really paid attention to how things would sound if this was a real world, playing around with reverb and muffled sound a lot too. When he's at his lowest point in the hole, it's just layers upon layers of space wind, black holes, votexes and other stuff to really drown him there.
Damn, this brickfilm was like so good. I just love all the little effects like the glass breaking and the water but again with the drawn on faces too, it's just really cool! I love the style. I'm glad I took time to watch this, can't imagine how long this took to plan, make and edit!👏
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. The drawn faces add so much to the film and i think i might use them permanently going forward. I think the project took about 2 months? So 7 weeks of shooting and one week dedicated to editing. So not that long compared to other projects, but it was a very slow process at times due to the subject matter of the film bumming me out while animating lmao. Particularly the part where he gets dragged into the spinning underwater hole, that took weeks to do.
I fully expected Tame Impala to play with that title lmao This has to be the most creative thing I've seen all day! I've always looked for a brickfilm like this that goes way deeper that usual. So many great aspects that made this top tier. Well done, man! 👏👏
Thank you so much! Yeah funny story is originally the song lost in yesterday was gonna be in the film, but over time as i was animating it i discovered it didn't really work for the vibe i was going for anymore. Thank you for the kind words bro, means a lot!
Awesome work, man! I really like all the visuals on this one. And it’s really cool that you managed to convey a lot of emotion in a a plot that’s very open for interpretation. Great job!
Now this, my friend... is art. Fantastic lighting. Simply incredible. I see you becoming one of the greater active brickfilmers for sure! It's quite daring to chose such a surrealistic narrative and skillful to make it work as well as you did. Major congratulations! 😄
Thank you so much man! It was definitely one of the biggest things i thought about when making it because i wanted to keep it visually interesting all the way through.

Oh, and the sound design- I forgot to mention how great it is!

Deserves an oscar 👏

This is incredible dude! Each scene has so much meaning. Also the underwater scenes looked really good.
Thank you! I'm glad the meaning of the film came through for you.
Wow bro got me in the feels
Found out of Today

Thank you man! Yeah i wanted to keep some of this open to interpretation, like it's all there but you decide what it really all means to you.
