This is definitely Javanese music called Gamelan as I play one of the instruments.. I am Javanese, and I have been to Sumba. Yes, I agree that it would be better if this video using a Sumbanese music as I am distracted by the music while watching it.
I know this sounds crazy but I almost wish I had been brought up here. By Western standards, they don't have much. But I see a happy satisfying life where family and nature are far more important than labels and game systems
Yes...I think a lot of Westerners have this romantic image of poor rural villages...but don't forget...toiling all day in the rice fields is exhausting, back-breaking work😟...and siiting for hours weaving cloth is not easy either. I'm sure these local people don't sit around all day sipping coconut juice and enjoying sunsets👍
My mum grew up on the Kampung in Sumba, she tells me everyday about how their lives were so fulfilling because of the love and joy they experienced in life. They had little but what little they had they shared with anyone and everyone. The kindest and most genuine people I know are my family in Sumba

I regreat very much that this music is completely inappropriate... Local music would bring the real atmosphere from Sumba.. not music gending gending. It is like javanese would like to impose again their majapahit supremacy...
