I am surprised we only got 2 comments for this video, hats off to you Dr. Vivek Murthy, you earned that space and every word you said was from the bottom of your heart. Respect to you Sir. I, myself want to become a doctor, but I am not sure how financially i will be capable of becoming one, you motivate me, and I am absolutely blessed to here and know about you sir, hats off to you once again. :)
Even his "poor" grandfather wasn't so poor. Wikipaedia says:...He is the grandson of the late H C Narayana Murthy, the former director of Mysore Sugar Company, and son of Florida-based Dr H N Lakshminarasimha Murthy and Myetraie Murthy.

Dr. Murthy, You are perfect example of ungratefulness who belittles his parents and grandparents country of origin which is so diverse and culturally rich than any other country in the world. In fact , you should be proud of the India where sushruta, the father of plastic surgery hails from and where medicine was practiced much before Hippocrates was born !!!
He is good, but everyone in America likes a rags to riches immigrant story and so everyone spins it. India has always supported a happy and wholesome family life if not for all, for a lot of them. The recent of wave educated Indians who come to US were all raised by mother India and at the time sustained outstanding and refined philosophy, arts and culture that is distinctly its own. There is no other country that has grown an independent philosophy rivaling Greek philosophy, independent math discoveries, independent astronomy, independent dance forms, languages, arts, sculpture, numerous religions that are distinct to rest of the world and mainly Abrahamic ones. India is a world onto itself.
