Thank you for so much, your page and content is very appreciated and valuable. I start Wilkes May 2023. I’m nervous and excited. Congratulations🎉🎉 on passing your boards!!!
Thank you so much for taking us through your journey with this! Capella needs to cut you a check 😭 Congratulations on everything, and omg please continue taking us with you on this! Can’t wait to see how things go for you!
This is very helpful, as i’m considering Wilkes. U needed the 3 Ps for a post-master’s? And they r using Facebook for teaching/lessons? I don’t get it. I also thought the BON regs requires the university to find the clinical site within a reasonable distance.
Hello, you are almost done, keep doing what you are doing. Great work. I am starting Wilkes in the Spring with these 2 classes. (1)Diagnostic reasoning for Nurse P, & (2) Health perspectives of culturally Diverse, Rural, and Underserved population. Will you be taking the same classes this spring? Good luck my dear.
Hello darling! Thank you so much. I will be taking Health Perspectives. I’m actually preparing for it now being that there aren’t any exams. Wishing you all the best 😊.
Coming from Capella as a MSN . How long is the Wilkes program for you? I’m pretty much during the same route you are but trying to pick a school with the least amount of time lol
Thank you so much for creating this Chanel. I’m just finding you, but you’ve answered so many of my questions. And who did you say we need to ( CC) include in our clinical placement emails? Their title?
Hey Nurse Reese. First congratulations! I have been accepted to Wilkes U starting May 2022. I have a concerning questions. They did not transfer the "3 P's" from your MSN? I am an Adult-Gero NP. I am hoping I do not have to repeat Pharm, Patho or the Physical Assessment.
Hello & thank you Wanda! No, I did not have to complete the 3Ps for my MSN. If I did they would have more than likely transferred. They do expire after a certain amount of time tho.
@@Dr.ReeseNP Thank you so much for the information. One more question. From your experience, do you think you can take "2" courses each semester and work? Your You Tube information is very informative. Keep up the good work!
@@wandathompson2203 Hey Wanda! Sorry for the late reply. I have taken 2 courses at a time per semester @ Wilkes and it has been very managable. It was scary at first because I haven't taken 2 courses at a time in a very long while. But, I will say, for me, it has been manageable. :)
This is soooo awesome. I love your video. I downloaded the books into my dropbox. I am supposed to buy the 7th edition of some of the books but i'm wondering if that really matters as you have the patho book in the file and the only difference is its the 6th edition. I start school this May 24th. I'm going to keep watching all of your videos! Thank you Reese : ) I work 3 12s and i'm worried about getting my classwork done. I am wondering if switching back to 8s might be better for me. Current schedule is week 1 - tue, fri, sat week 2 - is sun, wed, thur. I'm a bit of a nervous wreck. Haven't been in school in forever. Hope I can do it.
Hey Laura!! Thanks so much for watching. I’m glad you were able to download the books without any issues. I personally wouldn’t worry to much about having the latest edition. As far as switching back to 8s.. I would say see how things go working 3 12s first. I do know for certain that it will be difficult to complete clinical working 8s M-F. Wishing you all the best. You’ve got this!
Hello! I love your videos! Thanks for all the information. Congratulations to your success. Quick questions: are the exams proctored? Are there any required zoom meetings, or group projects? Is there a flex path option or competency based grading? Good luck to you!
Hey Yacine!! Thank you so much and great questions. 1) Yes, exams & quizzes are proctored. 2) I have not experienced any required Zoom meetings as of yet. 3) There aren’t any group projects however there are groups discussion questions here and there. Especially, in the last 2 semesters. 4) No, there is no flexpath option or competency based grading in this program.
@@Dr.ReeseNP Thank You so much for your response. I was looking into attending Walden University for the PMFNP certificate program, but they are not accepting NY students at the moment. Do you know if there is a way around this?
No problem!! Yes, NY is very strict and will not approve any online PMHNP schools outside of NY. Feel free to book a consultation and I can give you a more detailed response to your question.
For me, if was 100% worth it. I paid less than $1500 for my MSN. Had I went BSN-MSN at Wilkes it would have cost much more. I paid out of pocket so cost was a major factor for me.
Hi thank you for this video! I am trying to choose between chamberlain and wilkes? Do u have any advice? Wilkes said the fees is 30500 but I wanted to know how much over it will I have to spend? Please help
I'm currently in the RN to MSN program for PMHNP. They did not have the guarantee of clinical placement when I enrolled. I'm not sure if they are offering this for all tracks now?
I’m also enrolled in an accelerated MSN program with Chamberlain and after completion of that, I would have to go back and complete the post grad certification for PMHNP. They said that would make me eligible to sit for boards to be a PMHNP, but I’m so nervous because skipping your bachelors sounds too good to be true and I’ve reach out to our states board of nursing with no replies thus far.
I wouldn’t say skipping a bachelor’s is “too good to be true.” It just depends on ones goals as to whether or not one would be affected. Many hospitals don’t recognize a MSN in place of a BSN.
@@Dr.ReeseNP thank you for replying! It makes sense what you said about paying out of pocket to do Capella. I am in the rn-bsn flexpath and called them today about MSN, you are really helping us out sharing this information. I will be contacting Wilkes also! Did you do the MSN in one billing cycle?
Depends on the course. Some don’t have papers some do. Discussion post may be weekly (150 words) with 1 response (150 words) from my experience thus far
I don’t pay per month. I pay in full prior to the start of semester. My preference. They do offer payment arrangements which again would vary depending on how many credits.

Yes, you need the 3 P’s if you are obtaining a post master’s and don’t have them already. No, The school does not use Facebook to teach.
Thank you for this. Cause I have to take Advan Pharm & Advan Health Assessment. I was wondering when I would take it.

5 semesters (about 18 months) if you don’t have the 3 P’s or if they expired.
Thanks for the video!!!❤

Hey thanks for watching! Please check out the live video that I did today that addresses your question.
Hey! I’m in the process of comparing a few programs. Could I reach out to you with a few questions?
Sure thing! If the questions require a lengthy response please consider a consultation.
Do you know if you have to write a thesis at the end?
As far as I no there is no capstone or thesis. Some of the later courses do have 7-10 pg papers.
I'm currently in the RN to MSN program for PMHNP. They did not have the guarantee of clinical placement when I enrolled. I'm not sure if they are offering this for all tracks now?
They probably started in Jan 2021 and ended Summer/Fall 2021.

Yes

Do you think it’s possible to work during the program? And if so how much? I work 3 x 12s a week right now! Thanks!!
Yes, I work M-F 9a-5p. Now, clinical is another story. I’ll keep you posted.
How often are the discussion posts, replies , exams and papers ?
Depends on the course. Some don’t have papers some do. Discussion post may be weekly (150 words) with 1 response (150 words) from my experience thus far
Do they have ASN to MSN(pmhnp)?
I think so but I am not sure. Check out their website.
How long is program?
Depends on which degree you start with and what courses you have. Min is 2 semesters.
Hey can you list the name of the Facebook group
Unfortunately, most of the groups have been shutdown but check here www.xonursereese.com/blog/category/fb-groups
We're the tests open book?
No, they were not.

Depends on what classes you have that can be transferred. Min 6 months or 2 semesters.
The Nursing school are making so much money from us; yet they don’t provide preceptorship and now it’s becoming a norm.
Yup, and it’s sad.
