- The Boston Celtics defeated the Indiana Pacers 133-128, to take a 1-0 series lead in the Eastern Conference Finals. Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 36 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 assists while Jrue Holiday (28 points, 7 rebounds, and 8 assists) and Jaylen Brown (26 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists) totaled 54 points. Tyrese Haliburton led the Pacers with 25 points and 10 assists as Pascal Siakam (24 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists) and Myles Turner (23 points, 10 rebounds) added 47 points. Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals will take place on Thursday, May 23 (8:00 p.m. ET, ESPN).
This is the first time in Boston’s franchise history where three players totaled 25+ points in a Conference Finals game. Since the 1970-71 season (first season with Eastern and Western conferences), it’s just the ninth time it’s happened in a Conference Finals game ever.
Jayson Tatum - 36 PTS, 12 REB, 4 AST
Jrue Holiday - 28 PTS, 7 REB, 8 AST
Jaylen Brown - 26 PTS, 7 REB, 5 AST
Pascal Siakam joined Paul George as the only players in Pacers history with 25+ PTS, 10+ REB, and 5+ AST in a Conference Finals game. George did so on May 30, 2013, in a loss v the Miami Heat (27 PTS, 11 REB, 5 AST).

Jrue Holiday got that killer instinct, just what the Celtics needed.
He’s been kinda mid all playoffs long but everyone knows he comes up huge in games like this
Here after Jrue just stole the Pacers' hearts
I don’t wanna hear no more JB slander, that dude is a dawg
He's been balling these playoffs. It's JT who's been constantly trash talked and even he doesn't deserve it. Unless star players score 50 every game they are "trash" according to the 12 year olds.
Celtics fan here, brown has a history of shocking possessions down the stretch in play offs. He did the same in 4th quarter, redeemed himself with the most clutch shot of his career to force OT. I still sweat when brown is running offence down the stretch, always will
@@dank454no one cares
Jb was pretty off until that clutch 3
@@jakoberondo6381about you😂
Great to see the Celtics win a clutch game for a change.
Didn’t know they needed your approval first off
@MM-ql9xj go back to school you need it dummy🤣🤣 go cope little girl
@MM-ql9xj Try harder.
lol you chokers lucked out on that inbounds play!! good on the road choke artists!
@@MM-ql9xj Celtics suck at clutch games especially if they are down and they have to make a comeback
Celtics fan here, gotta give respect to the Pacers
Fuck the Pacers
Nice comment 😊…great game 😅!!
Never
@@user-zh7sv7hc9v never give respect where it’s due? Close-minded kid here
Cs fan here, I knew this game wasn’t going to be easy but cs were up most of the game, they made a few mistakes that they need to clean up, I think cs handle next game and pacers get the cs for one game in Indiana, pacers coach Carlisle is a good coach, pacers are very fluid, Celtics can learn a lot from this game
Dwhite and Jrue so calm when everybody was losing their minds. If this was Marcus Smart, I swear Boston would have lost this game
Marcus plays for Memphis now ....please Stop
Was thinking the same exact thing
oh 1000% marcus would have made some boneheaded 3 at the end of the shotclock after not being able to create anything or he would have driven into the paint to stop on one foot and kick out and throw the ball away for a turnover. Love marcus and his time here in Boston but he was such a wild card in clutch games, he is either coming up huge and making all the right plays, or he completely throws and makes the worst plays possible.
2:42 Bang! Bang!
As a Celtics fan credit to the pacers
Let’s go celtics
Pacers choked so hard down the stretch
fax
lol just like you clowns do every post season! lol suk on that jr!
Lets be clear...Halliburton choked down the stretch.. in Reg. time and OT... both times lost the ball while bringing it up... they had the game in reg. With 25 seconds left and up 3 and their ball... should have been game over... Choke!
Celtics didnt beat them they lost to themselves.
@@Gmanu29 facts! lol that inbounds play was just a fluke! and boston knows it!
As a Celtics fan, Pacers put up a great fight.
noo it’s the other way around, pacers had you and good job for the clutch win for real 😂😂 luka&kyrie/Ant&towns gon make y’all cry bro tfff
@@movies4u78and if they win, lucky cuz it wasnt against jokic/curry? Lol
@@riemannsoliven9419 this perfomance a'int gon cut it against Mavs/T-wolves.
@@movies4u78 you say that like the Mav’s and wolves both didn’t have horrible losses already this post season 🤣 🤡
Just here to say what a shot by JB and shoutout to Tatum for waking up in OT. We should’ve put this game away earlier but it’s the playoffs it’s not meant to be easy. #DifferentHere 😤
It’s thanks JT, but also we could have ended the game earlier and he got hit some of those shots
Not gone be easy for the Celtics, the Pacers are tough. Earning my respect.
Celtic had multiple leads and couldn't keep em could of box out more
Yeah. Knicks would've been an easier match up. Pacers have good bigs and Porzingis is out, probably for the entire series...
@@John-iq7ry porzingus is set to return game 4 confirmed he gone be back sooner than later
10 seconds up by 3 points and you have a time out if you cant inbound the ball. And you throw a terrible pass and cause them to tie it up. All you had to do was call a time out, draw up a play and hit one free throw and the game would've been over. Just insane. Not to count all the fumble turnovers 🙄
Yeah yeah yeah, so how much money did you lose?
@@MM-ql9xj lol fair question but none
I only watched the highlights, but didn't the Pacers turn the ball over on their first few possesions? Then choked away the game at the end. C's were lucky to escape.
This was a good test for the Celtics
thank you Jrue Holiday for Passing the Ball to Jaylen Brown rather than Jason Tatum.
That I agree with 💯
Couldn’t agree more
Yeah you know Tatum would have missed. He always collapses in the clutch
Tatum is no mamba😂 fuckin caterpillar at this point. So many misses. Also that stupid foul in OT. Man so frustrating
@@a-zh6lkthat foul should've been overturned. Idk what the refs were looking at. Toppin obv had his arms wrapped under Tatum's. Lol. But yeah. Tatum wouldn't have tied the game.
So grateful for Jrue Holiday. I loved Marcus Smart--still do--but he would've kept chucking ill-advised 3s, and the Celtics would have lost.
Smart would have lost this game for the Celtics
Man everyone said the Cs aren’t battle tested but also say they’ve been here so many times. Experience showed tonight
lol and always lose! lol whts ur point
@JamesWoodring-mu2iz Always lose?
Motherfucker. they been more close to the chip than 90 percent of teams have been
@@JamesWoodring-mu2izas does every other team left in the playoffs last ring coming from any of these 4 franchises coming in 2011 so you can say that very same thing with the mavs twolves and pacers whts ur point?
@@JamesWoodring-mu2iz wait so the. Celtics have been in the playoffs for years but since they’ve lost that means they haven’t been battle tested? 😂
@@BobothyThe1st well if the nba still played defense ! i might agree with you.
0:45 How is that not a travel? lmao 😂😂😂
its a vacation
He does that all the time. I think we just gotta accept its not gonna get called
they started allowing these extra 2 steps this year and its not just with halburton, pretty bizarre... and you are the first person who has mentioned it
Puts his second hand on the ball ending his dribble AFTER jumping from his left foot, so his right foot is his gather step.
Definitely would have been called a travel in the past
I didn't watch the game, so when I woke up this morning I saw the score that the Celtics won by 5 and I was thinking, wow the game was a lot closer than I thought it would be, but little did I know at the time that the game was decided on overtime, so way closer than I've imagined.
Crazy contract, Jaylen earned it with that shot
Another beautiful BANG-BANG
I'm a Knicks fan from Australia but I'm going 4 Boston Celtics
i dont understand why tatum gets the credit all the time, his decisions are so bad. he missed both shots in the end and has the worse fg% compared to brown who shoots with way more efficiency. he also hitting big shots all the time.
When Mike Breen gives the double BANG...you know it's epic like NY Mets play by play man Gary Cohen with a double "outta here."
You know it's going to be a fun game when Mike green is calling the game that bang bang never gets old
Jaylen Brown has been so underrated in the playoffs
Jrue might just be what the Celtics needed, someone who does't shy away from the big moment
You know its a big shot when Mike Breen gives you the double "Bang, Bang!!!"
Aye you gotta give Indiana they props… Though this the big easy this ain’t gone be easy Celtics. Good game & effort to both teams! This is going to be a a battle royal series. Strap Up!
Pacers can't beat Celtics AND The Zebras with Mike Breen coaching them up. To win his Bitcoins and Vegas chips.
last 1:20 minute they have brick shoot from Siakam, then another brick shot from Haliburton, them TO from Haliburton from his leg and TO in last posession...hope this tough lose now don't influence on them and Boston go in cruise mode to some easy 4:1 finish in series
It was a great game…lots to see moving forward…hopefully from Indiana 😉!!
is it the big easy?
It's the Indiana Pacers, not the New Orleans Pacers, my dude.
Tatum’s side step’s ART
The best wild win at overtime!
Let's go for it, Boston Celtics!
NBA always spoiling the score in the thumbnails
great game
Haliburton 6th man of Celtics
historic fold from the Pacers at the end sheesh
Mike Breen with the Double Bang for Jaylen Brown.
Where are those who said we were bad??? We lost it a bit ourselves in the end but hope we come back stronger 💛💙💛💙
Boston Celtics are the beast
The Pacers suddenly forgot the fundamentals of how to dribble and inbound the ball up 3 in the final minute.
Paying this man 307 million dollars for 5 yrs is all worth of your money he brings the game excitement regular season or playoff or post season he bring in the crowd hes a crowd pleaser hope he will get a championship ring this year with boston celtics
I felt a lot of confidence when JB said he's going to his guys ready to respond.
Thanks JB
Good to see the Vajayjay bros get a W
That massive Pacers choke job.. wow
Both teams choked, but somehow Pacers choked more.
Amazing game by Celtics.
The roar of the Boston crowd is unlike any other

It still could be it’s only game 1. The first game of the 2018 NBA finals was great and then the rest of that series was.. well forgettable.
Facts
@kylegross1081 Well you still have your Tekken to play.
Hopefully that suffices
💯@@kylegross1081
Win this game but was too dangerous
Show celtics can win close games
Indiana had this. Haliburton decided to just dribble off his knee in the clutch.
Wow! Playoff experience really matters. The Pacers had so many chances to put it away but had bad turnover and bad shot choices instead :(
Not to mention that the Celtics have much more talent.
This game could either make or break the pacers and uplift the Celtics
This 1st game should be a good indication that this series is going to be challenging. I see it going to 7 games.
Props to the pacers but if 3 of your 5 starters are scoring nearly 25 points each and still lose your not gonna win the series
❤
I was at this game in the boardroom sweet. It was unreal! I'm like still on cloud 9. It was deafening loud. One of the crazy things was there were 2 people in are sweet who left with 10 seconds left. They were watching the tvs on the way out (probably trying to beat that boston traffic having kids and work 2maro) turned around and came back to their seats. It was also free t-shirt night for the entire stadium. We got there 40 mins early, and almost all the t shirts were gone (big suprise, of course, mine were) from people stealing them from other chairs. Lol. I got mine at the end of the night, tho so I'm happy about that. I will never wear it. I just wanted it for a keepsake. But let's go CELTICS! Just 7 more wins in the next 13 games and we did it!
Only 2 fouls on the Celtics for this entire video is insane. And not until 12 seconds left too when it’s already over.
Pacers overcame being like - 23 in free throws and just messed it up that would’ve been EPIC.
i mean thats what happens when you're a jumpshooting team versus a bigger slashing team
Pacers gave this away
Can't take the Pacers for granted. They are a better team that's why they're here
Sat on that spin, look at my boy JB go
Shades of '87!!
What the hell was that last shot in regulation by Halliburton. Take ball, dribble into Corner get yourself trapped.
Why is the camera angle for this game broadcast too far away?🤔
Tatum enchufado, Celtics, campeones.
Celtics 25 FTs
Pacers 6 FTs
Celtics w/ the script, disgusting
Pretty disgusting. Look at some of the plays in the paint that aren’t called. lol this why I don’t watch this sports entertainment league. Basically wwe for over a decade now.
honestly just madness. This series could be better than the Minnesota Denver one.
It’s hard to win with 20 free throws disparity!
Saved by the bell and Jaylen!!
This game was too close for the Celtics not to come out with more aggression next game
Seems like Pacers let their guard down in the final 90 seconds.
The Pacers need to take their talents to Brazzers after that choke job. Sheesh
copy pasta
lol whens the last u mfers won anything? lol please reply
That was a costly turnover for Haliburton at 1:40 ... Cost them the game
2:24 Very suspicious sequence from Siakam. The Celtic knocked it out on the inbound, yet he lunged to "try to save it" (causing a turnover for no reason). No replay shown. No mention of the bizarre play that just occurred... it's just "Celtics ball." Then, Siakam puts his hands behind his back and lets a good shooter hit a 3. The first play is much more suspicious than the second, because at least the second COULD BE explained by saying he didn't want to give up a 4 pt play. So notice how all the media only talks about the second play? Not the first? Because there is no possible explanation for the first. So they just ignore it and distract from it.
No more of that Jrue ain’t the same player in the playoffs bs either man
That was a great game. Pacers hung with them.
JB defends that possession causing the turnover, then the next play he made the shot!
This game would’ve ended badly for the Celtics with Jaylen Brown did not hit that three.
Gee, You think so?
Really. Duh. You're a brain surgeon.
Gee wow that's deep. Thanks Captain Obvious!!! 🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾
Duh
WHY would you put the score in the thumbnail, some of us work early and can't watch the game thanks for ruining the ending for me..
Tatum almost cost us the game and then he won it.
the main difference is their experience, pacers coul've won easily if they have more experience
Indeed, Tyrese really collapsed mid 4th until the end of the game turning the ball over and over, the Pacers lost their composure for sure
I WAS THERE (SECTION 309)!
How was that not a push on Siakam for the inbound in the 4th Quarter?
And if the Pacers keep making these mistakes and errors they're not going to win any games of the series
2:55 you should hit that 3 and call Channing Frye
Please do hide final result over the video cover
Tatum alone got more free throws attempts than the ENTIRE PACERS TEAM. That's crazy crooked.
JB is the key to this game
Haliburton made sure his team got up by 3 points and then sold it with hasty shots.
With a minute left in a man ECF playoff game, why tf would you shoot step back shots with 15+ seconds remaining on the shot clock?
Dude you’re the best playmaker in the league. USE THE DAMN CLOCK and confuse the Celtics’ defense for a last second easy cut to the basket layup or attempt to draw the foul.
Rookie mistake. But he’ll learn. Young upcoming superstar👌🏾
You know the nba has replay now right?😊
Boston City of Champions!
The way I would choke away a game in NBA 2K.
The real question is how much did Indiana get paid to throw that game? Was it worth it?
Almost seemed like it. - at least for Haliburton anyway. Seemed almost like point shaving that went awry in the end - except Pacers were the underdog so nope.
Ask the refs, they're the ones that cashed out that night.
Jrue saved those chockers
LMAO PACERS BLAME THE REFS IN EVERY GAME THEY LOSE. look out for the 300 calls Rick about to report 😂😂😂 talk about a team in denial
That last play the pacer guy never even touched the ball
Refs fixing to save the Celtics from choking, and help them win the championship
Agreed
WOW Pacers
This is what great teams do. Celts in 5. Banner #18.
As a Celtics fan well played indy but we were only rusty frm bein rested game 2 we gonna set a whole diff tone Cs in 4 or Cs in 5 at the worst
Tatum needs to relax and analyze the plays. At 1:32 before he shoots the 3, drew is wide opened. Try and go for the 2 for 1 IMO.
I'm a Celtics fan but have no clue about the rules of Basketball.
One thing is for sure this isn't gonna be an easy conference finals for the celtics if the pacers limit their turnovers through the series great game 1 though
