I found Minor threat in the mid 1980s as a degenerate 6th grader. I fell in love with the energy and how raw the music was. Then Fugazi came out and I fell in love with Ian’s music all over again (still in my regular rotation). Now, Ian is still releasing music under the name The Evens with his wife on drums and vocals. While the music is more tame, the raw energy persists. The new stuff is definitely worth a listen.
Ian's passion is so raw he's telling us fing wake up protect and respect the woman around us and call out these CREEPS AND SHAME THEM if we don't we are all GUILTY!!!
Never seen a Fugazi reaction - but then I never looked for one and just stumbled across this 👍 I haven’t listened to them for a while and am always astounded by how good they were
And on that statement i totally agree i saw FUGAZI here in Aotearoa New Zealand at the power station and that there is a BUCKET LIST GIG IF EVER THERE'S BEEN A BUCKET LIST GIG THAT WAS UP THERE WITH THE RAMONES. THE CRAMPS SOUND GARDEN THE BEASTIE BOYS and BAD BRAINS with STICKY FILTH opening WICKED 👍🤘👏👏👏 all of these gigs at the power station 1100 capacity club

Fugazi for me. Never really got into the hardcore punk scene, except for the occasional Black Flag song. For those into hardcore , check out the compilation This is Boston , Not L.A .

Kia ora Shawn and Tray. Hay I've got to say how grateful i am that i had Men like my Dad and Joe Strummer Ian MacKaye and Jake Burns giving me Moral guidance through my teenage years and I'm still guided by them it's pretty hard to be an asshole if you follow their guide line's in my opinion
Kia ora hello my Texan Whanau (family) hope you guys are doing well.hay Shawn do you remember a few weeks ago i told you about Strummer picking up rubbish at the self serve gas station and finding twenty dollars after I'd just had a talk with him about doing the right/kind thing and you will get rewarded sometime from an unexpected direction. Well last night after work i picked up Strummer from his mate's place in Auckland and we went to the supermarket at the checkout a man and i think his grandson in front of me and Strummer was $15.40 short i gave him a twenty dollar note and told the boy to put the change in his pocket. Big smiles and off they went.we get to the van and a guy walks up to us and hands me a $50 dollar note?!. W.T.H is this for?i asked and he said that me and Strummer had just made his day and he's paying for the food i got i gave him a hug and said to Strummer see like the street lights that constantly turn off as i drive past so does the universe give back.and this evening i got to pass it on again at our local small supermarket $16.20 to a lady and her daughter for frozen chicken nuggets and the swing keeps swinging and the roundabout keeps spinning pass it on
