Folks, Derek is the real deal. I used his personalized quiz and he responded thoughtfully and thoroughly to my (many) questions. I truly appreciated the feedback and response. You totally earned the referral commission! Thanks for all the help!!
im strictly a side sleeper and this mattress is great. ( soft version ) it was a little firmer than i expected at first, but after breaking it in after about two weeks, i have no complaints.
My husband and I have been researching this bed. Your video was excellent and I appreciate the clear and concise explanations between the beds offered. I was on the fence thinking if we tried the luxury firm that I would wonder about the soft but after your video and a email from a rep at Wink Bed I think we will be trying out this company and it’s bed. Thank you again!
Excellent comparison. Are you planning to test the Saatva HD any time soon? I tested it in their San Francisco store and I loved it, but I didn’t know how firm it is when it first arrives or how it would measure up to your tests. I wonder how it compares to the Winkbed Plus. Thank you & keep up the fantastic work!
We actually just recently tested it. You can see the review here - naplab.com/mattress-reviews/saatva-hd-mattress-review/ Our video review is finished and we'll be publishing it soon.
How can the Winkbed option have minimal motion isolation and higher bounce? Are those totally distinct categories? Is there some overlap in what each category means?
That's correct, motion and bounce are totally distinct. While it is true that higher bounce on a mattress typically also means higher motion, it's not an absolute rule. Winkbed's combination of pocketed coils, euro top, and specific materials allow the mattress to deliver higher bounce, while keeping motion isolated. You can read more about what motion transfer means here - naplab.com/how-we-test-mattresses/#h-motion-transfer And our bounce tests here - naplab.com/how-we-test-mattresses/#h-bounce
@@NapLabReviews Thanks for that! I am thinking about buying one, but a bit turned off as Im reading the Winkbed requires it to be rotated. Rotating a really heavy king bed isnt really tops on my list for the weekends. What happens if it doesnt get rotated?
@@FreedomFiveFL In case it helps, virtually all mattresses need to be rotated. Doing so helps to wear more evenly. If you don't rotate it can mean that one side ends up with more wear / tear depending on how you sleep, sleeping partners, body weights, body types, etc. That said, it's not something you need to do often. Rotate at the 6 month mark and then every 12 months after that.
@@FreedomFiveFLI have the winkbed in luxury firm and have rotated it per their instructions and it’s honestly not that bad. Just put reminders in my phone for each rotation interval and I don’t worry about it until Siri yells at me to rotate. Piece of cake.
In most cases, yes. However, if you really love the feel of memory foam then the Nectar is the better choice. For other sleepers, Winkbed is the better choice.
How does selecting a mattress get effected if you’re accounting for your partner? I’m 5’11 180ish… partner is 5’7 160ish… thinking of the king firm option? Or is luxury firm still better? both of us sleep on our sides and back… i also sleep on my stomach at times. neither of us want to sink in, nervous that a luxury firm won’t support us both
Most of the time you try and choose a mattress with features / feel / materials that overlap the most with you and your partner's respect needs. Given that you are both combination sleepers and not heavy the luxury firm is definitely going to be the best choice (whether it's Winkbed or a different brand).
Have you reached out to Winkbed for a replacement under the warranty? Any dent greater than 1.5" is covered. Out of curiosity - what type of foundation do you have the mattress on? Certain foundation types don't always provide enough support and can lead to premature dents and body impressions.
I swear I’m not being a perv here, but how do you come up with a sex score? It is a very relevant category that definitely needs to be considered. I was just curious on how this is calculated.
Our sex score is a simple equation where we look at 5 different factors. Each factor is given a specific weight based on how important we think that factor is for most people. Our sex equation inputs for sitting edge support, pressure relief, and cooling are derived from those respective performance categories. The other two factors are noise and bounce. Bounce is worth 65%, edge support 20%, and then 5% for each pressure relief, cooling, and noise. You can find our full explanation here - naplab.com/how-we-test-mattresses/#h-sex

You're too kind. Thank you very much. Really happy to hear that I was able to help!
We need you to do sheet and pillow reviews as well. You’re the only objective data driven person I trust.
Oh they are definitely coming! I just want to finish building out our mattress reviews first.
I concur!

My pleasure. Glad our video was helpful!
Have you ever been able to test identical mattresses of differing sizes to see if size affects performance?
Unfortunately, I don't think I have. But that's a good idea. I'll have to see if I can do a test like that in the future.
Thanks for the suggestion!

Im right at 6'2", 250-260lbs and strictly a side sleeper. Would you recomment Luxury Firm or Firmer?
Luxury Firm

So is the firmer or the plus more firm?
I see they are both rated a 7 on the firmness scale. So do they feel about the same firmness wise
I found them to be basically the same firmness, 7 out of 10, slightly firm feel.
Superb video ❤
Thank you! Glad it was helpful 😄
How firm is the ‘firm’ version? I wish you could do a better review of just the firmer version.
Based on the other versions we did test, I would estimate it at a 7 out of 10 firmness, where 10 is the most firm.
Thanks! Can you recommend any extra firm mattresses that are a nine out of 10? Not the plank- it doesn’t have good edge support.

Honestly the plus is their best bed. Idc what your weight is
Can you explain why? I am 175 lbs
