His first life is so tragic and the actor with the white hair and his acting through eyes portraits the feel so brilliantly. The moment the hood fell off took my breath away. I have not seen such great scenes like these recently in Chinese drama, no unnecessary slow motion, no twisting circling shots of the actor/ actress’ faces. Song Mo is such a great character with mind and heart. Such a well rounded drama, from director to cast to staffs. Thank you for your Song Mo edit, always so good ❤

The mention of slow motion reminded me how well they did slow motion scenes in this show. The director did alter the frame rate at certain times, but it was never too high(the higher the frame rate the slower the image can be), yes a high frame rate was used, for those really smooth action scenes, but also unutilized at pivotal romantic moments to add tension/longing. He never over did it, and it's so subtle in some scenes a lot of viewers might not even realize when it's in use. In those "time stood still" moments....this whole production with it's attention to detail and artistic choices had me kicking my feet with joy every time a new episode came out. I've literally gushed/yapped for hours about the lighting in this drama alone. I need other romance directors to take notes from him. He never over did a Dutch Angle or other filming techniques...he really utilized film language with his directing to really solidify the connection to each character and their relation to one another....okay wrapping it up cause I could seriously go on a multi-essay length yap session. Really looking forward to seeing what the director does on his second long form drama "Chasing Jade" aka "Zhu Yu" with the added budget he received after 'Blossom's success. It's a joint project with iQIYI and Tencent as well, so fingers crossed it lives up to my expectations and doesn't get meddled with too much by executive level production wanting to give their two cents. I was hoping to see who the creative producers were on Zhu Yu but can't find the English list so i'm just praying my girl from Blossom is also on this project.
One of the great pleasures of discovering a great Chinese epic is also discovering that Jatsuki has done edits of it. You have an eye for seeing what makes a story great.

I haven't watched the show because I don't like love stories, but after watching your absolutely gorgeous video here, I'm starting to change my mind. Because if even half of the show is this full of action and beautifully choreographed action sequences, I'm all in.
