Because negative affinity on a build running frostcraft aint it chief Thats why BFB isnt the best GS in iceborne and is beaten by safis shattersplitter
I'd be curious to see a build for surge slash great sword as well and how it would differ. It's been quite a while since I've used that style so I'm definitely interested if there's any info out there
how did you get the frostcraft 3 / divine blessing 3 talisman? and does it matter whether or not you get buildup boost or frostcraft or is it just personal preference?
Talismans with Froscraft/Buildup Boost MoH/etc can only drop from Vigor Melding, so it's rng. Luckily Froscraft isnt all that rare though. And as mentioned in the Video, if it has Lv 2, that's enough to get all the essential skills. Buildup Boost is a very good DMG boost here, but it's somewhat optional. So if you need/want to drop one of the Skills, then for sure keep Frostcraft!
There's definitely something wrong then. Did you check the Augment Section for the Build, to see if you missed any Deco Slot upgrades, or something similar ? Because you're the first player that has had that haeppen. We'll figure out what's going on and fix it 👍🏽
Do you think using Chameleos Greatsword is better? I have a Buildup boost 2 foray 3 talisman with 4-1-x slot. Chameleos sword has 2 level 1 decp slots as well so i have room for haze 3 decorations. Currently my augments are 3 buildup boost 2 mail of hellfire and +2 deco slot so i need to remake another gear with frostcraft augment. I kinda want to do it but im not sure if its worth it cuz im not sure if mobs with high poison resistance would take long to get poisoned cuz i never used poison weapons throughout the years of playing monster hunter. I also have a frostcraft 2 wirebug whisperer 3 with 3-3-x slots. Kinda relunctant to use it tho cuz i feel like level 3 slots is such a waste lol.
Wow, those are some pretty nice Talismans you have there! 👌🏽The Chameleos GS is a good sidegrade, but it wont beat any of the other options in terms of DPS. That's due to Greatsword just not being very good at applying Status (even when the value is quite high) because of the "slow" attacks. For other weapon types your Buildup Boost & Foray Talisman would likely be awesome, since they can make far better use of Foray. If that Frostcraft 2 Wirebug Whisperer 3 Talisman mysteriously goes missing...it wasnt me, okay ? 😁 That thing has tremendous value! (I see how the 3-3-0 Slotage is bugging you though.. I always cringe when seeing that slotage too now lol)
Thanks, i just tested even with status build lvl 3 poison attack lvl 3 charge master, lvl 2 coalesence took like 6 to 8 hits still to apply poison to a monster with 0 initial resistance. I guess I'll use it for SnS instead. Love your videos btw 😁
@@mikunakano6439 SnS is a great choice for it! 👌🏽You'll probabbly be able to make a crazy build with that Talisman. Glad you're enjoying the content! ^_^
It depends on how the rest of your skills are looking. But it's not that much. About 3-5% on average due the fact that you wont be able to hit 100% Affinity without additional help from your palicos, or other "outside sources" (Endemic Life, HH user etc). But if you like you can just augment the GS for Affinity insted of ATK untill you can use the Virtue Waist.
@@YokaiNox I got Buildup Boost on the pants, and have Wirebug on Helm and gloves with Mail. So I got all the skills, just not in the same order. 😅 Buildboost luck is the only reason!
I dont know how to incorporate buildup boost, i dont think there is a jewel, right? So do I just have to augment armor until I get it? 3 times while also keeping solid slots?
You can get Buildup Boost via Augments or Talisman ( 3x Levels is the ultimate goal, but 1x Level is the sweet spot for it, aswell as minimum recommendation). I'm kind confused by the last question.. not sure what you mean by "also keeping solid slots" because you never loose slots from augmenting.
@@YokaiNox Ignore the last part about slots, I mixed sth up. If I understood correctly I need either frostcraft or buildupboost on a talisman and depending on which, augment armor for the other. I'm running a frostcraft 2 talisman, so I'll have to augment 3 armor pieces for buildupboost. Still don't know which skills would be best to get rid off, blood rite on the helmet and frenzied bloodlust on coil maybe..?
@@trime1015 The first thing you'll have to do is get Frostcraft up to Lv 3. After that, get 1-3 Levels of Buildup Boost. In the Augment Section for the 1st Build you can see that i sacrificed Burst on the Chest & Frenzied Bloodlust on the Waist. So you can definitely sacrifice those 2 aswell if you like. Aside from that, both Bloodrite & Partbreaker can be used as fodder for Skills+ Augmenting aswell to make it easier to get Buildup Boost, or Frostcraft as needet.
It's up to you ^_^ You can either get the 3rd Level of Frostcraft with an Augment (wich would be the better option) or use the Rimeguard Waist insted. Both will work 👍🏽

You can get some that are way better than that😂 Divine Blessing is essentialy useless on mine, unless i'm playing Rage Slash GS style. And you can get far better Slots aswell. It's just all RNG based.
@@YokaiNox i think the game "sanity" check wont allow that kind of charm, having frostcraft 3 is not allowed for the system already, the most possible is having 1 frost 2 slot or 2 frost without slot.. its too perfect to be true, but i dont know, i never got the good one from brewing at npc haha, just an information i got in forum
@@engingenggNo clue where you got that information, but it's super wrong! 😄 You can get Talismans with Skills like Frostcraft/Dragon Conversion/Mail of Hellfire etc.. Lv 3 + Slots, since TU4. So it's actually been part of the game for a veeery long time already now. There are tons of posts with people getting Talismans like that since the 1st day of that update 😄Ofc it's still all RNG and you're lucky if you get something good.
0:51 How does the Scorned GS limit the set in other ways besides downgrading Hellfire cloak from lv 4 to lv 3 due the the slots and having 5 less raw, the extra amount of blast seems to proc buildup boost more often due to the higher amount of status." My version of that build uses a Buildup boost lv 2 3'3'1 (It also has constitution lv 3 but that's a throwaway skill but whatever.) So my augments were the reverse, augmented for three levels of frostcraft rather than buildup boost, plus the one level of buildup boost just to max it out, but for the most part, got pretty lucky with my augments, including a lucky regular augment roll that had frostcraft on the arms with the only downside being -2 fire res.
The limitations to the Build, when using the ScoMa GS, will entirely depend on what exactly you're going for & how you're Augments & Talisman are looking. In your case, it will barely limit the Build at all, just like you described 😄 I've personally used the ScoMa GS more than the Lucent Narga one, because i'm in the same boat. But for anyone who only has a Frostcraft or Buildup Boost Talisman with worse slotage, the limitations will start to show, because the Lv 4 Slot on the Lucent GS increases in value then.
Not sure what exactly you mean 🤔 Do you mean wich of the Builds you should use with the Amatsu GS ? Or what specific Skills you need with the Amatsu GS ?
The first build sounds great for me If I can get sneak attack in there alongside offensive guard it would be the perfect build for me I use rage slash and adamant charge slash for normal gameplay and swap scrolls for strongarm stance when the monster is down or asleep
3:23 i dont even play gs and i havent played rise in a lil bit (ive been olaying world mostly but occasionally go back to rise to look at my builds) but i love how many skills are maxed. I actually made a dragon conversion insect glaive build that has every skill maxed out

@@YokaiNox honestly worlds feels a bit better, especially since our “wyvern dive” equivalent doesnt leave us so open if we miss as it has a natural follow up. Did you skip the Augment section in the Video for that Build ?^^ Because that's were i have the Buildup Boost. But it depends on what kind of Talisman you are using.
If you start with the largest Decorations and make your way down in size, everything will fall into place by default. It's literally impossible for the Decos not to fit in that way^^ But i also mention at the start of every Video, when showing the optional Talismans that can be used, that some of them will get you the essential skills. Meaning not all of the bonus skills that arent necesarry. If you have the same Augments/Slots as i do, you should be able to get the same skills, or very close to it though.
Usualy GS Builds ine endgame dont any extra Sharpness Managmenet Skills, because the meta Weapons options all have 20-30 Units/Hits of purple, wich will last a good amount of time. But as mentioned in the Video, the regular Hellfire Cloak Skill, aswell as the Stun Resistance are completely optional. So you can take out those Decorations, and easily add a few extra Levels of Handicraft into the Build. Adding more than 1x Handicraft+ 4 Deco (wich will give you an extra 20 Units/Hits of purple) would be overkill though!😄

Because negative affinity on a build running frostcraft aint it chief
Thats why BFB isnt the best GS in iceborne and is beaten by safis shattersplitter
I'd be curious to see a build for surge slash great sword as well and how it would differ. It's been quite a while since I've used that style so I'm definitely interested if there's any info out there
Seems I might have to make another GS Build for it then 😄Thanks for the feedback! ^_^
how did you get the frostcraft 3 / divine blessing 3 talisman? and does it matter whether or not you get buildup boost or frostcraft or is it just personal preference?
Talismans with Froscraft/Buildup Boost MoH/etc can only drop from Vigor Melding, so it's rng. Luckily Froscraft isnt all that rare though. And as mentioned in the Video, if it has Lv 2, that's enough to get all the essential skills.
Buildup Boost is a very good DMG boost here, but it's somewhat optional. So if you need/want to drop one of the Skills, then for sure keep Frostcraft!
I tried your build but all the decorations doesn’t fit in. I even have talisman with lv3 frostcraft and lv3 divine blessing 2-2-2 slot.
There's definitely something wrong then. Did you check the Augment Section for the Build, to see if you missed any Deco Slot upgrades, or something similar ? Because you're the first player that has had that haeppen.
We'll figure out what's going on and fix it 👍🏽
@@YokaiNox Sorry i didn't see the Augments. I already followed it and it's perfect. Do you have a build for amatsu greatsword?
How much damage do you truly lose by switching to Primordial Waist? Mine currently has stacked stats, and my augment rolls are unkind.
@@fungiferous404 You'll definitely be just fine then! 😄
Is it better if i use the rimeguard waist if i only have frostcraft 2 on a talisman?
It's up to you ^_^ You can either get the 3rd Level of Frostcraft with an Augment (wich would be the better option) or use the Rimeguard Waist insted. Both will work 👍🏽
Can someone please tell me how to unlock Guardian 3 deco?
It requires these Materials:
Volvidon Claw+ x 3
Ibushi Hide+ x 3
Bloodrun Jewel x 5
Diablos Medulla x 2
You are able to unlock this Deco pretty early into the game. Way before you get to the Sunbreak content.
Is there a quick way to farm for augments? I feel like creating a build is such a long grind
@@iiReaperv2 Quickest way to farm Augments is to do the highest Tier & Lv Anomaly Investigations that you can complete consistantly & "comfertably" 😊 Once you reach a certain Lv you will get enough Augmenting Materials for ~30 rolls each Quest.
@@YokaiNox thanks for the tip!
No difference in using a buildup boost 3 talisman and getting frostcraft through augments no?
Yup, doesnt matter if you get either one of the Skills on the Talisman or via Augments 👍🏽
On the retaliator build, where's the frostcraft skill coming from? The talisman?
Yup, you can see everything needet for the Build on screen.
What's the greatsword that was on the thumbnail of the video?
That's the Royal Order Great Sword Design. You unlock it by progressing the Follower Questlines.
@@YokaiNox You are amazing, thank you.
Got any builds for no risen monsters armor? I’ve done all urgent except Amatsu so I have an access to some great gear just not quite the beat and I would love some builds to mix it up while I grind anomaly investigations.
Sure thing! ^_^ For pre-Risen Elders the first Sunbreak Greatsword Build Video on the Channel would actualy be a perfect fit then ▶ruclips.net/video/9CAdWjwfPr8/видео.htmlsi=Qy0Et5hIoWDIyw8S
is it possible to have that kind of charm ? with 3 frostcraft, 3 divine blessing and 2 level 2 slots ?
@@engingenggI think the best possible talisman is Frostcraft 3 Buildup Boost 2 and 2-2-2 slots. Good luck getting that though lmao
How unlock FrostCraft on charm ?
0:51 How does the Scorned GS limit the set in other ways besides downgrading Hellfire cloak from lv 4 to lv 3 due the the slots and having 5 less raw, the extra amount of blast seems to proc buildup boost more often due to the higher amount of status."
My version of that build uses a Buildup boost lv 2 3'3'1 (It also has constitution lv 3 but that's a throwaway skill but whatever.) So my augments were the reverse, augmented for three levels of frostcraft rather than buildup boost, plus the one level of buildup boost just to max it out, but for the most part, got pretty lucky with my augments, including a lucky regular augment roll that had frostcraft on the arms with the only downside being -2 fire res.
The limitations to the Build, when using the ScoMa GS, will entirely depend on what exactly you're going for & how you're Augments & Talisman are looking. In your case, it will barely limit the Build at all, just like you described 😄
I've personally used the ScoMa GS more than the Lucent Narga one, because i'm in the same boat. But for anyone who only has a Frostcraft or Buildup Boost Talisman with worse slotage, the limitations will start to show, because the Lv 4 Slot on the Lucent GS increases in value then.
What would to recommend to use with the amatsu gs?
Not sure what exactly you mean 🤔
Do you mean wich of the Builds you should use with the Amatsu GS ?
Or what specific Skills you need with the Amatsu GS ?
@@YokaiNox my bad, I meant specific skills
@@TheTyrantAussie Run the first build, drop Hellfire Cloak & add Maximum Might Lv 2-3 insted, to make up for the negative affinity.
@@YokaiNox alright will do, thanks a lot!
The first build sounds great for me
If I can get sneak attack in there alongside offensive guard it would be the perfect build for me
I use rage slash and adamant charge slash for normal gameplay and swap scrolls for strongarm stance when the monster is down or asleep
That sounds awesome 👍🏽I actually often play like that aswell :D
3:23 i dont even play gs and i havent played rise in a lil bit (ive been olaying world mostly but occasionally go back to rise to look at my builds) but i love how many skills are maxed. I actually made a dragon conversion insect glaive build that has every skill maxed out
Niiice! 😄This actually brings up a question i was thinking about earlier. Insect Glaive in World & Rise - wich ones feels better ? 🤔(Switch Skills excludet)
@@YokaiNox honestly worlds feels a bit better, especially since our “wyvern dive” equivalent doesnt leave us so open if we miss as it has a natural follow up. However it does feel a bit worse to play aerial as i feel like i chew through sharpness so fast as compared to rise. I still find it enjoyable being a helicopter as it makes it easier to mount monsters
@@YokaiNox i use 3 pieces of the risen val armor and then the arms and legs from gaismagorm its a very glass canon-ish build since it has no resistances. Its on red scroll since dereliction gives extra element on red scroll
@@Mangoloonikus True, the helicopter gameply definitely got a significant upgrade in Rise. Basically being stuck for 2.5 seconds after the Diving Wyvern isnt cool at all 😅Took more unnecesarry hits due to that, than i care to admit lol
where do I get the buildup boost on the godslayer build?
Did you skip the Augment section in the Video for that Build ?^^ Because that's were i have the Buildup Boost. But it depends on what kind of Talisman you are using.
Your builds are great but I wish you would show how you Deco them. I never seem to be able to use all the decorations you say
If you start with the largest Decorations and make your way down in size, everything will fall into place by default. It's literally impossible for the Decos not to fit in that way^^
But i also mention at the start of every Video, when showing the optional Talismans that can be used, that some of them will get you the essential skills. Meaning not all of the bonus skills that arent necesarry.
If you have the same Augments/Slots as i do, you should be able to get the same skills, or very close to it though.
How do you maintain sharpness?
Awesome man , thx !
Dawg how are you getting build up boost in the first build
Did you skip the Augment Section for the Build ?😄😄 Cause you can see it there.

Would making an elemental gs video be a joke or is raw gs just the best ? And no point of making elemental gs builds
I enjoy playing elemental GS from time to time. But the honest answer, it just gets significantly outperformed by Raw GS, in nearly every single case. However, elemental GS can still be used very effieintly with great results. But it does require adapting some outside of the box playstyles to make it "good" in the later stages of the game^^ Dont let anyone stop you from using it if you enjoy it! 👍🏽
@@YokaiNox thanks for answering yeah I got my answer like a couple hours later after asking one of my mates and he just said raw performs better most cases
How to unlock Frostcraft on charm ?
Frostcraft can only drop on charms from Vigor Melding, so it's rng. Luckily it doesnt seem to be super rare though.
Thx for the answer
oh man im gonna have to get a frost craft talisman arent i

WHERE IS THE LONG SWORD
In it's planning phase. The reason why alot of other weapons got a Video first for TU6, is that Longsword got the smalles upgrade to it's Builds out of all Weapon Types in TU6. The Weapon pretty much reached it's peak in TU5.
But it's still going to happen, no worries ^_^
