I agree 100% with your assessment!😍 I just got the 520 set and I too enjoyed the heck out of swatching them. They are so silky smooth and lay down a nice thick color almost instantly. I have to admit I was not expecting them to be this good but I am thrilled that they are!

I agree! I wanted a set of 'cheap' color pencils to use for junk use in order to prevent my nice prismas from getting abused, (you know, the sort of writing tools that you keep in the kitchen draw.) So I bought a set of 72 of these that I found on sale. I was surprised at how good they work for such a cheap pencil. They are not nearly as nice as Prismas, but they work.

In complete honesty, with the few projects I have used them for I felt they were not too bad….but I also would never compare them to prisma even though I haven’t even tried prisma. My previous set was basic student grade and layering was horrible…..these get the job done far easier and smoother….but I am sure Prisma is still a step up! Hope that helps a bit.

Ironically, my glance at the lightfast ratings shows they may be pretty accurate. For example, the reds are pretty much a disaster area in lightfastness - just as is true with cheaper red, orange, pink and violet pigments. In other words, the set is like practically all budget sets, with poor lightfastness for most of the warm colors.
Yeah you are prob right…. Budget is budget. I guess we will have to get the more expensive ones for professional level quality. But I think for an average user they will be fine. ( thanks for watching 👍🏼)
I just received my set of 120, they came in a round tube, with no coordination at all, so purchased a case & switching was little time consuming, but I got it done. I'm quite please with them have to be careful on sharpening, y 120 is very different than yours
Are they definitely Kalour brand? I think they do make a bunch of different variations. I hope you enjoy them though! Thanks for watching my video and commenting!!
It's funny, now that I have had them for a bit and used them several times....I only noticed it after someone mentioned it. I find the WHOLE tin can have a smell with them all together but not if I just take one and use it ...if that makes sense. THANKS FOR WATCHING and commenting!!!!
I bought these too and the chemical smell fades and totally goes away if you let them sit for like a month or so! I do have smell sensitivity ( allergies) but now I can use them without any problems.
Honestly I worry about toxicity from almost anywhere these days. But, i guess we just have to try and make the best decisions for ourselves. Thanks so much for watching the video and leaving a comment!! 👍🏼
