    You might have saved yourself a lot of time (and paper and ink) if you cut out the hexes and rearranged them like a puzzle instead of colouring the chart over and over. XD
    Thank you for all your hard work on this chart! It's a brilliant idea.

    • @SandyAllnock1
      @SandyAllnock1  9 лет назад +23

      Baylee Jae I kept thinking it was going to be "done" with each round, so starting over to do it that way was a waste...but if I did it again i'd sure cut out the hexes!

    I recommend to just get a hexagon punch and color all hexagons on hexagon shaped pieces of paper and use removable adhesive and write the number by hand. This way you can arrange the color until the color groups are perfect.
    I know 20:20 hindsight ;)

    I just purchased your chart today. It is magnificent! Thank you so much for sharing. It is worth every penny and more. I also just started your Copic class and I'm loving it! Sandy's thank you so much for creating this !
    This hex chart is going to be a MUST have for everyone, and I knew right away as soon as I saw it, I needed one and needed to have one now, so purchase it ! Sandy, this is truly a labor of love in creating this, by far the BEST chart I have ever seen ! Just looking at all the colors in that type of layout, it's like WOW ! You are able to see everything is one view, and really see so much more of the details of each color, next to the closet match. THANK YOU xoxo

    A hint for those worried about the numbers smudging or not showing up for darker colors: just use a little bit of pebeo masking gum on each number. It dries transparent, has no bad reactions to Copics, and rubs off very easily afterwards. :)

    I was fortunate to receive one of these charts early and started coloring last night. First off, just the coloring is very relaxing! But I also see the benefits of laying out the colors like this. It really highlights those subtle differences between colors and I will find this very useful. Thanks Sandy, it's brilliant!

    Oh my gosh Sandy, I can't believe all you went thru to make this chart. In my head I was thinking of a giant magnetic board and magnetic punched hexagons that were colored and being moved around. Of course if I were doing what you did to make this (which I never could have done) I wouldn't have thought of it. Thank you for doing this and offering it to us. I am just getting into copics so it will definitely be a great help.

    I know what you mean. I'm on a budget & have Spectrum Noirs. They provide similar coloured & blank charts on their site. I recently located the blank colour chart & coloured it since I'd noticed from using them that the markers were far more vibrant than the coloured chart provided by Spectrum Noir. It's the nature of the beast.

    This is amazing and will be so sooo helpful!!! You have just cut my brain requirement, and which colour deciding time completely in half! Thank you so much for coming up with it. I have purchased it already and can't wait to use it. p.s I printed it on photo paper the colours come out so clear and vibrant. Now you know what people are going to be wanting next right...... For those that can't afford many copics - A chart that shows an extra colour that can be 'made' by using one copic and touching the tip to another copic .... You might end up with a list of say only 150 markers to buy to be able to 'have' amost all of the actual copic colours :)

      +Sandy Allnock I only have ink jet...but I see on You Tube that they use laser printer...is that necessary? Also...I'm a newbie and but enough $$ copics are expensive...what set/sets do you recommend I start first...thanks

      If you are worried about the black bleeding, use a little bit of masking fluid over the numbers before coloring the hexagons in. It stays transparent, so you can still see where to color, but keeps the ink and Copics from smudging together. It also allows you to still see them when using the darker colors, instead of having to re-write the number in white ink. :)

    I don't really understand how to use the chart. You explained a lot! So thanks for that. But what do you do once you have I colored? Do you use the colors that are next to each other for shading? I don't get it? Sorry

    • @SandyAllnock1
      @SandyAllnock1  8 лет назад

      +D once your chart is colored you'll see colors in the same region you might not have thought to use together. There's no rules; most of the time colors right next to each other are too close so skip a few.

    can you buy a Hex chart that is sent ready somewhere? I don't have a printer and no one to help me print for me.

      Unfortunately no, but you could take the pdf on a jump drive to your local copy shop and they can print it on your Copic friendly paper. Photocopy ink is typically Copic safe. 🥰

    This is great!! Will it be okay to print this with my inkjet printer and color it, or do the copics only work with a laser printed document?

    • @SandyAllnock1
      @SandyAllnock1  9 лет назад +1

      Ashley Beckwith Test it out and see - if it smears, you can take a printout to your local copy shop and have them copy it onto Neenah for you :)

      Copics work fine with my inkjet printer but maybe you should color a test image before you print out the chart just to check!

    • @scrapgirl14671

      I know my inkjet smears with Copics, so I go to Staples and print it on Neenah and then color. That is why I don't do digi stamps. But for this chart I will definitely do it! Hope this helps.

      Pam Ratcliff I have a friend who loves to color charts (yeah, strange!) so I'm asking her to figure out how long it would take and what her cost would be, so she could do a bunch. I'll let everyone know if that becomes available.

    If you would like perfect color reproduction, I'd be interested to help.
    I photograph artwork.
    I would calibrate several things to create a custom profile for the exact photograph.
    Then print on a 14 color behemoth.
    I feel I could do it.

      @@SandyAllnock1 oh, I was thinking of professionally printing it. But you're right, you are just providing a file.
      Well, one option is you could set it up so a professional printer could drop ship the print to them. I like mpix.com (no affiliation).
      People could buy the physical print for like 20 bucks on your site and mpix could drop ship it.
      Or, you could just tell them, hey don't bother buying this unless you are going to get it professionally printed.
      But I also understand if you don't want to fuss with any of that, lol.
      Selling a nice physical print mounted on a nice thin dense poster board with a kickstand... I'd spend 25 on that for sure.

    I know you have to make money, but 6 dollars for just a stupid piece of paper to slap marker onto??? why couldn't you just have 2 PDFs (one for greys and one for colours) and have us just print it ourselves?????

    • @SandyAllnock1
      @SandyAllnock1  7 лет назад

      You do get the pdfs separate to print out yourself; the value is in all the work done to create the chart in that format. I get tons of comments about it being worth the cost, but it's ok if you don't wish to own one. :)

    6 years and copic colours fade!! What about he art work people make with them!!

    • @SandyAllnock1
      @SandyAllnock1  7 лет назад

      That's why it's important to know your medium - if it needs a long shelf life, frame it using the fancy glass that reduces fading. :)
