Great video! Thank you! Summery of the steps: 1. Use a heat protective spray before rough drying the hair to 90% scalp and 70-80% ends. 2. If ends get more than 70-80% dry, rewet them with a spray bottle. 3. Use highest heat, highest airflow. 4. Let the airwrap grab the ends of your hair and roll it up and down a few times on the end until it gets tight, then roll up to head and hold for 10-15 seconds until the hair feels dry. 5. Don’t waste time with the cool shot. 6. Don’t shut it off in between curls. 7. Apply hairspray to warm curls. 8. Don’t disturb curls until they are completely cooled. 9. Gently brush out curl from underside with paddle brush or fingers. 10. Add more hairspray if desired.

Hi could you do another video and do a wear test? 😊 Like do your hair in the morning and give updates throughout the day on how the curls are lasting? 😃
My husband just got me the new Dyson complete for long hair for Christmas. I’m so excited just for the blow drying/smoothing part that I wasn’t even thinking about curling yet. I’m 5’11” and my hair goes down to my butt and it’s thick and lots of it. It’s a love hate relationship but I’ve only ever seen and heard good things about the dyson for long thick hair. My old blow dryer was crap and made my hair look like a lions mane. I’m so glad I found this video. I appreciate the real ness and down to earth honesty. There’s too many videos of people either bashing the tool while not using it or prepping their hair right or too many people blanket praising it and doing jump cuts to perfect hair with no real explanation and they don’t talk about how the hair lasts. Thank you for this!!!
My kids got me this for Mother’s Day last weekend, I’ve never been able to curl my own hair. The Dyson was no different, I was doing everything it told me online. I’ll try again using this technique. Thanks for postig
I just got an airwrap last week, and used it today for the 1st time, and I was unbelievably frustrated. Note that I am a creature of habit, and have absolutely no patience...nada! That said, it took me about an hour (maybe a little more) to style my hair the way my regular wand would've curled it in 15-20 minutes 😳🤬! I came across your video today, and will def be trying your techniques tomorrow. Kudos on the great video. THX so much for sharing, because I was literally thinking about returning this thing until I saw your video. Fingers🤞🏼your technique works for me because I want this to work for me. I have super fine/thin hair, and I did see the positive results as far as it keeping your hair healthy (mine was soft and bouncy-like when finished) by using the Dyson vs other heat styling tools. Now I just gotta get this thing to work for me. 😊
I totally agree that the cool shot doesn't make a differences. The air is room temperature and the barrel is still hot. I always have to re-wet my hair after I dry it to get the curl to stay. I've actually been spritzing each strand with gel diluted in water. Before I ran out, I was spritzing with Color Wow Dream for CURLY hair (not the shine spray). Works great for hold and my hair is still soft. I usually use the Airwrap more like a curling wand for beachy waves, but I'm excited to try your technique of leaving it on and curling the normal way. I also loooove the long 0.8 inch barrel because the tighter curls last longer.

I was so worried, just bought mine today and was thinking I made a mistake because of the comments I’ve read. I’ll try your tips as soon as I receive it. I’m about to purchase the spray and heat shield as well. Thank you!!
Thank you so much for your video. All of your suggestions are so helpful. I was going to return it, but now I've changed my mind. I'm going to give it another bunch of tries with your suggestions. I have to ask you about that cabinet hanging on your wall, is that a mirror also? Do you have a link for where you got it?
Thank you!!! I am looking forward to trying your method tomorrow. I bought it for Christmas and my hair is thick and long. Curls aren't holding so far with the multiple times I've tried it. I've watched many, many videos with no help. Any recommendations for using the dryer attachment to blow straight and remove fly aways?
The dryer attachment has a setting where you can put it directly on the start of ur hairline and work ur way down with the metal piece at the top of the root of your hair- hard to explain sorry! Also if you want a nice smooth blow out for your hair type the round brush would probably work well!
Firstly congratulations on an informative video! I actually have the shark and was looking for some helpful tips which I found here! My hair is coarse, thick and frizzy (I’m half Trinidadian half Indian) - your game changing advice (1) ditch the cool shot (I do use it on my shorter lengths to help them hold) (2) wet your hair, I used frizz ease heat protecting spray to help the barrel catch! I use my fingers to loosen my curls, I’d like to recommend using Schwarzkopf Bonacure peptide repair rescue which really helps smooth frizz and softly define and hold curls - thank you
Ha! Last night I found your video and thought there were so many comments saying this really worked so I decided to give it a try and this worked for me too, i loved it, thanks a looooot ❤ i was sad i was not able to make a decent use of my Dyson haha ❤❤❤
Your tutorial was so helpful! I was beyond frustrated and feeling guilty for spending so much! Could you please, please link the products that you used?
Great video I was searching through for some yesterday and all I was finding was on hair falling straight in an hour. I was so disappointed and I was so torn bc of the price of it I sent it back this morning! I want to try it before spending so much money and I know there’s also a learning process too. So torn!
I hear you. I've been struggling myself in the end I kept it knowing that there is a learning curve. I'm defiantly going to try these few tips of not turning it off.
I have one coming out next week on how to use it on bedhead/day 2 dry hair and on bangs! Check on my channel. Thanks for the idea I will do that one next!!
I’ve try a lot of products to trying to hold my curls and finally I use living proof products that held to keeping my curls long lasting and a mouse is a key. 😊
Thank you for your helpfull tutorial. Jessica what is the best way to hold your curls during the night? I have long hair and always use a spiral plastic ring in Holland it's called invisibobble.. it won't stuck in your hair thing..
I will try this. I have been struggling with the airwrap. Do you use the round brush attachments? I feel like I can’t get them to do anything with my hair.
I find the round brush doesn’t do much. I use it in my bangs but that’s it. I feel like round brush works well for those with curly hair looking to blow out straight.
Great video! Thanks for all your tips . . . can't wait to try them out! How many curls do you make on each side . . . video's a bit too fast for me to count (lol). A slower video showing you make each individual curl on one side would be so helpful! Also, what is your hair texture - fine or thick etc.?
Hello thank you so much ❤! The amount of curls depends on how thick your hair is but typically I do about 7 curls on each side. My hair is probably medium thickness and very fine, not a lot of texture. If you want a tighter curl do smaller sections 😊
I got this exact model for Christmas and this was beyond helpful - thank you! I personally couldn’t get it to not blow out the curl without turning it off before release… however I’m sure that will come with learning!! Feel like the curls are stringy, which worries me with thinner hair, but it definitely gave a ton of volume. I also ordered a silk cover bc I find in general my hair hold better over time that way, so that’s an excellent suggestion too!
Love the video!!! I’m the type to usually style my hair during the day (like you did in the video) and then sleep on it. How do you sleep with your hair already styled? I’ve tried so many ways and my hair ends up super kinked and messed up if I tie it, if I leave it alone it gets super knotted and idk what else to do? Any suggestions??
A silk bonnet or I do a hair refresh where I use a spray bottle to rewet my hair slightly in the morning and just touch up the curls, my hair is pretty fine it doesn’t always hold well even with a bonnet on overnight

Hi - I'm debating on whether to buy the Dyson so this was helpful - thanks. Would you mind listing all the hair products you used? I am in the UK so not sure if `I can get them but it would be useful to know. Thanks again 😊
I am thinking about buying one and was just wondering if I could use it directly in towel-dry hair to do the curls directly. It seems the answer is almost yes, it needs to be a bit drier but it will save me the time of having to dry the hair and then to curl it afterwards
Please share the products you used, please tell me the hairspray name there are so many choices online with this brand Also the heat protectant that you like Thank you ❤
Ive been going back and forth debating on getting a dyson airwrap or not. I've heard mixed things about it that the curls dont last and fall out. When/if I get one, i will try it like this! I feel like my hair holds curls when air drying it or using the no heat method. If im going to get one of these tools, I'd rather get the Dyson and not the Shark.

Best videos to make the Dyson worked! I had almost gave up. Thank you! 🙏🏻🤩
Glad it helped!
This is super helpful! Thanks!
What is the kind of hairspray? I couldn't tell..thank you for the video :)
Best tutorial so far ❤
Ok, I just saw this!!!! I am going to try this tonight!!!!!! Hope it works.... judging by the comments, it does!!!!
What brand of protectant do you use? Thanks for the great video!
Can you do a video or do you have one on when and how to use the different connections?
I have one coming out next week on how to use it on bedhead/day 2 dry hair and on bangs! Check on my channel. Thanks for the idea I will do that one next!!
I’ve try a lot of products to trying to hold my curls and finally I use living proof products that held to keeping my curls long lasting and a mouse is a key. 😊
Thank you for the great tips. Perfect for a newbie
Sooo glad I found this video!! Thank you!
This was actually pretty good. Thanks ❤
Thank you so much for this helpful tutorial 😃
Game changer!Thank you so muck for this video!❤
I just got my air wrap yesterday and I love it! and nice robe pimp daddy
Haha thank you! I was wondering if anyone was going to notice that 😂
Love the video!!!
I love this. I have also found that the cool shot is not necessary
Just posted a five minute tutorial for dry hair How to use the Dyson Airwrap | 5minute tutorial | Jessica Quick

Thanks for the tips !What do you do with your hair when you go to sleep do you let is loose or in a bun?
would love to know this too
What hairspray do you use ? Thanks :)
This was helpful! I just bought the Dyson, because my stylist recommended the product. I couldn’t figure out the curling technique, so I’ve only been using the barrel brush attachment. Thank you so much!!
thank you so much for this video u are really amazing now i know how to use my dyson wrap
Thank you so much!! So happy to help!
Thank you for this video. I am going to ask for this for Christmas now 🎁
Hope you enjoy it!
Thanks so much. I will try this.
Practical and to the point. Loved the tutorial.
Hi - I'm debating on whether to buy the Dyson so this was helpful - thanks. Would you mind listing all the hair products you used? I am in the UK so not sure if `I can get them but it would be useful to know. Thanks again 😊
Perfect video!
Thanks for the tips ! Love the hair
Thank you!!
I am thinking about buying one and was just wondering if I could use it directly in towel-dry hair to do the curls directly. It seems the answer is almost yes, it needs to be a bit drier but it will save me the time of having to dry the hair and then to curl it afterwards
ruclips.net/video/AYel2RXxc-I/видео.html I posted a video of how to do your bangs with the Dyson. Check it OUT!
You have absolutely beautiful hair looks so pretty 😍💕💕💕💕
Thank you so much!! 🥹🥰
You’re welcome 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
Thank you for your video!! I can not use the cold shot on my hair either or my curls just fall right out. I can’t wait to try your tips!
What's the purpose of the cold shot? Thanks :)
@@elizabethglazman it’s supposed to “set” the curl and cool it, which should usually mean it lasts longer
@@YasmineBenaz Thank you!
Please share the products you used, please tell me the hairspray name there are so many choices online with this brand
Also the heat protectant that you like
Thank you ❤
I need to try this. My curls held for 5 min with my Dyson
Thanks for the tips!
Great video! Definitely going to try them 😊
Ive been going back and forth debating on getting a dyson airwrap or not. I've heard mixed things about it that the curls dont last and fall out. When/if I get one, i will try it like this! I feel like my hair holds curls when air drying it or using the no heat method. If im going to get one of these tools, I'd rather get the Dyson and not the Shark.
I will be trying try today. Got a dyson airwrap for Xmas and still can’t use it
Thank you so much for doing this video 🙏🏼 It helped me so much! 🙌🏼

Awesome thank you!
So you put it down and leave it on while you section out the next piece of hair to curl?
