Happy Monday, notification gang! I had so much fun making this with Beck. Let me know your favourite video game reference in the Digimon Card Game below!
What I found really interesting about the moyjamon card is that it seems to further reference a well known money exploit in digimon world 1 where trading a Med. Recovery disk for a stat boosting disk (i cant remember which one) resulted in more money than initially invested when you sold the stat boosting disk to the in town shop.
I remember seeing the Digimon Racing game in some book my brother had....so I asked for it. Yes it's a somewhat weird game but I honestly enjoy it. I remember working hard to get all the characters unlocked and seeing Agunimon and Veemon as characters in addition to the Adventure partners....that game man. That game has some good memories.
Yeah, even "bad" Digimon games can be enjoyable when you're a fan of the franchise. I remember DW2 as extremely long, repetitive, and frustrating. That doesn't mean I didn't spend many hours playing it.
I think my favs are the world 1 references, the Bt-01 set Kunemon was literally the first card I pulled from a booster and I immediately recognized it's the Kunemon's bed one holding a Digimushroom. I'm actually also a huge fan of a red Meramon card cooking with Vademon in the background referencing the restaurant from Digimon world 1. There was something about the restaurant I genuinely loved growing up and sometimes I would just spend time with my mon sitting in the restaurant imagining what the food would taste like even if I knew Hiro (or Mameo as he's called no I suppose) didn't need to eat.
I have to say, when people got all excited about the Pokemon card game I couldn't really understand why, but now I see this Digimon card game and it all became clear to me. If you have the right people to play with and geek out with, cardboard can be fun. =)
one of the main reasons I collect Digimon cards is because of the references they make either for the Anime or for the Games, with my favorites being the references for Digimon World 1 (I have made an Album just for these cards) now the most my favorites are BT3-015 MetalGreymon and BT3-071 MetalMamemon where they are a reference in the intro of the game and Memory Boost which Purple, Yellow, Black and Green refer to the Gym of World 1 and Blue - Red in Re:Digitize
God I love your ad segways😂😂 as well as your ad segments. Just all your content you are always fun to watch and always make the day happier bro! Ive only played rumble arena, world 3, and both cyber sleuth games which are probably my favs. Also had a D3 back in the day. I miss it.
I need more rumble arena references, especially for blue Also, it's nice to see more MTG players open to other games. At a few of my local game shops 90% of MTG players hate on anything that's not it because, "Non American games are trash" (and haven't even tried them)
This was a really cool vid to watch. I haven't been in the digimon tcg for very long but I adore this game so much & its so fun. I didn't even know there were video game references to some of these cards so cool. XD
Memories of trying to recruit Monochromon... You know, in all my time playing that game, I have only ever managed to recruit Monochromon ONCE! Show how long it's been, I mainly remember it jus being general rather than any one Digimon in particular! One thing that surprised me, though, when I realised it, some of the Digimon IN the this Card Game, in particular Aurauramon and Gururumon! I recognised Aurauramon, but it wasn't until after a quick net search that I realised I actually did know Gururumon! They're both from Digimon World 1, which I have sunk so much time in... Or to put it a better way: "I am a dope!"
For myself personally, I always found Monochromon to be more tedious to recruit than really difficult, because of 2 main factors: 1) The Digimon that show up in the shop are pretty random, so sometimes you may get a lot more of the pickier customers, thus artificially increasing the difficulty. 2) The items they ask for can easily make or break how much money you can get from it; because of this, you really don't want to see to many customers asking for meat, while conversely, you could also get very lucky and have them asking for medicine instead (far and away the most expensive item you can sell). Adding onto this is that you can raise or lower the price as well: with Goblimon and Gotsumon, you can almost always safely increase the price to get a bigger profit (even if it seems like they would be against it), while when dealing with Muchomon or Weedmon, you can just about never raise the price of whatever you're selling them without them storming off on you. Having said that, and it's pretty time consuming to do, but if you have enough patience and can figure out which ones you can safely increase your prices for, it becomes much easier in my opinion
@@matthewkuscienko4616 It might jus be my imagination, but I always found you could manipulate things with certain button inputs inbetween customers! But, again, it could jus be my imagination... Still doesn't change the fact that even after scores of attempts, I've still only found success ONCE!
Something I haven't seen anyone mention yet. Playing the Card Battle game on the PS, got to Wiseman Tower and I just bought a box of X-Record and pulled this Wizardmon promo. I know it's featured in the deck out. I was like wow no one yet has point this out. Pretty sure Wizardmon and Candlemon are in Wiseman Tower featured from that game. I would say my top pick btw would be MetalGreymon and WereGarurumon alternate art that feature DW2 opening. I love that GAME.
I've always personally found that to be kinda funny, since curling isn't involved in recruiting MetalMamemon, and I was surprised to see that he could randomly show up to challenge you to a game. I also recall him being better at the game than Penguinmon was, as well as handing out a completely different set of prizes when you win against him
Karn this video was amazing, please make more like this. I was super surprised how many references to the Digimon games they were on the tcg which is very sexy! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
If this game ever adapts items, we could get a ton of references from DW4. Be cool to have some Digital Lifeforms from the video games now that I think of it.
I love the little references they leave with certain cards Though i will say Monochromon on 2 legs looks very cursed. like holding up a cat but it wants to be on all fours
BT9 has digimon world 3 reference raijinmon, suijimon, and fujinmon each of them fighting marsmon, cannondramon, and slashangemon and BT7 Metalgreymon and Weregarurumon were a reference from digimon world 2
I have to agree, it was quite nostalgic to see all those references from that game. It's definitely my personal favorite Digimon game, so it's cool to see the cards reference it!
Anyone have a website I can reliably order the card game in english from? Stores that carry them are extremely few and far between here and I've only managed to get my hands on some structure decks and a few packs of bt06.
Happy Monday, notification gang! I had so much fun making this with Beck. Let me know your favourite video game reference in the Digimon Card Game below!
I actually saw a long play of Digimon Racing(GBA).
I really love how far across the franchise this card game is willing to cover, it seems to just tie everything together in one place which is nice
100%! It's constantly surprising me just what it's going to reference next while also keeping up the art quality. So good.

Oh, interesting!
the artist itself know people abuse that trade hahaha2

I liked the penguinmon curling reference and the veemon one. I didn't know about the digibeetle 😲

I love how your dark hair is growing back and now it looks like you have 90's frosted tips.
Karn EX's Mega form is Timberlakemon
Makes me appreciate the people behind Digimon even more and that they were truly fans of the franchise.
Collabruary has begun! Love to see it!
We mooooove
I love the BT5 Agumon and Gabumon variants referencing Cyber Sleuth.
because bt5 is the cybersleuth pack we have nokia, takumi, and arata as tamer
Literally the only one I knew beforehand was the machmon card, some of these shocked me that they were references at all like the st7 agumon
Ayy, glad to have ones you didn't know! Yeah it's a real sneaky reference but very cool!
I have to say, when people got all excited about the Pokemon card game I couldn't really understand why, but now I see this Digimon card game and it all became clear to me. If you have the right people to play with and geek out with, cardboard can be fun. =)
My favorite reference is in BT5 Shademon where he leaves Wendigomon in the shadows just like the games and the rest of his evolution line does🥲
That number 2 entry makes me wish for a digimon world 1 hd remaster with updated roster (newer digimons like bulucomon or huckmon)
Hopefully one day!
I wish!
Re:Digitize was cool and all, but it was a very, very different experience to the original. DW1 is so charming...
There is a fanmade project on Discord.
Loved that Kaiba poster!
I’m more surprised that someone on the card team remembered World 2 considering I haven’t seen it referenced anywhere since
I really do like these easter egg videos. Keep up the great content man!
Glad you like them!

Another cool reference is coming in the set EX-02! they have a Reapermon card that is in his den from his original appearance in rumble arena!
informitive video i wish i could have played digimon games, atlas back then i was too poor to play em but fun learing about them
I feel ya. Not for money reasons I just didn't play TONS of Digimon vidja lol
Metalmamemon is in the back of penguinmon because you can play against it when its joined the city
I've always personally found that to be kinda funny, since curling isn't involved in recruiting MetalMamemon, and I was surprised to see that he could randomly show up to challenge you to a game. I like that I learned some details about the games since I never got a chance to play most of the games.
That's great to hear!
The alt arts of the BT5 Agumon and Gabumon has them also in Kaloown, where Nokai first meets them.

My favorite was Meramon cooking lol

That Seto Kaiba wall scroll 😍
Wanted to see this exact video for a while now!
Ayyy thanks bud!
Good to see I'm one of 3 people who played digimon kart racing
Loving content like this! Please do more of them 😍
Will see what I can do hah
This was so cute and made my day
You two rock together!!!
Aww thank you so much!
I love the little references they leave with certain cards

The curling footage was so funny
Just subscribed to MTGgirl's youtube channel 😀👏👏
Nice!

I wonder when someone will do a Digimpn reference in other anime
It will shock you what anime reference Digimon
I did a video on references to Digimon in other media that had SAO and Jujutsu Kaisen but I might do one dedicated specifically to anime!
@@Karn_EX link to video?

did you notice that Lunamon, Coronamon, and Hyokomon appear in Symphony No.7's art?
It's nice to reference world 1, the game where we all started at
Podrías hacer un arte de una evolución de Leomon referente a Tamers, como PrincipeLeomon como ultimate o mega
I unfortunately don't have any favorite references because I never played any of the Digimon video games. Sadness
Is that Palmon the only Cyber Sleuth card? (Mean aside from the tamers) of so I must get one.
I’m here within the 1st hour! Yay me!
You're the best, thank you!
I need that D3😍🔥
Love the tcg content idk about others but I’m enjoying it so hopefully this isn’t karns last tcg related video
Yeah unfortunately TCG videos just don't do very well for me, not sure why :/
Cool video and happy Monday

Really important questions: Where'd Beck get that Kaiba wall scroll and is there a Yami version?
A collab? That's neat!
I'm definitely not going to be able to keep my eyes off kaiba during this video, quiz me on it later
All the World 1 references, but the main takeaway here is Karn is a MvC2 fan.
Hell yeah I am!
Can u make a video of what fusion evolutions and “mega” evolutions would look like for the rest of the digimon frontier kids
This was so cool!
Thanks!

digimon manga references next?

Cool vid , I keep thinking I wanna get into the tcg. I just don’t know anyone who would play with me cause I live in a small town.
There's a thriving community playing the game online over webcam! Definitely worth getting into

the top 10 definitely should have made at least top 5 :D
Love these Easter egg card videos oh and I think this is the first attractive female I have seen that's into Digimon haha
Epic digimon content

You should play digimobs
I have been told this 😅
