Vinland saga is one of the most mature shows I have watched. It requires great patience to watch and it's very beautiful. Hope so it continues.
It doesn't need great patience. Every episode was intriguing and masterfully written. I was always hyped for the next episode.
Shows like samurai champloo and cowboy bebop need patience... Because of their writing style.. only some part of the episode is connected to main storyline and using little points from episodes to create a immersive and masterful ending.. but it will need patience to get to the ending and understanding it was all worth it.

Vinland saga S2 was just beautiful and really depicts the growth of Thorfinn as a human being. He confronts his past and decide to accept it. The slow pacing with most of the episodes taking place in Ketil's farm was kind of killing me at first, then what they showed really let the necessity of the setting in the farm setlle in my mind. Also, the growth of King Canute was just unexpected in many ways.
I am just glad that I got to watch this show. It just showed humans in a way that you would never expect from an anime, considering what most people generally see anime as.

Just to add to the point. Shounen, Seinen, Shoujo, Josei are not genres but demographics. It depends on which magazine it publishes. Also the series can change publications. Vinland Saga initially was published in Shounen magazine but was switched to a Seinen magazine.
Shounen - As Badal said it is aimed at young boys. Like Haikyuu, My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer, One piece etc.
Seinen - Aimed at young adults mostly men. Kaguya sama love is war is published in a Seinen magazine btw. Also Skip and Loafer is a Seinen despite being a romance. Although the most famous Seinen are Kingdom, Berserk, Vinland Saga, Vagabond and Monster.
Shoujo - Aimed at young girls. Examples - Sailor moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, Snow white with the Red hair, Fruits Basket etc. Shoujo doesn't necessarily mean it is a romance. Basara is a Fantasy series which comes under this demographic.
Josei - Aimed at adult women. Stuff like Chihayafuru, Honey and Clover, Kids on the slope, Princess Jellyfish probably comes under this demographic. Sometimes Shoujo and Josei get confused since the former may deal with mature themes.

I don't lie I don't expect much from the season as I know there is no action also previous season finale somewhat understand what the story is about but my habit of finishing something which I feel good it doesn't matter if it is not good further saved me. If I dropped after first season I miss this absolute masterpiece. I don't know how but I fell in love with it. This story deserve a 3rd season. I will be sad if it doesn't.

but i would argue that even shonen do deal with mature themes it is just that it does not ask you to stop and introspect unlike seinen ,shonen focus more on physical journey of character(s) whereas as seinen focus more psychological journey of character(s),if you want to stop and analyse about character and their story or event that has occurred you will notice a lot of depth ,philosophy,symbolism and even how situation mirror real world ,some best example are hxh,jjk(manga),fmab,one piece,chainsaw man,to your eternity
although sometimes things are spoonfeed or too on the face like in naruto ,but you can't tell me that ITACHI's story doesn't have any depth and mature themes and also shonen are more entertaining ,in fact a lot of charcters in naruto has that depth that you might be looking for
just remember not all shonen are like demon slayer,I can see a recency bias when you are saying that shonen are made for teens and do not deal with mature themes (of course majority are teens)

@Friendlyneighbor777 it does but as he said in the video it mainly depicts adult and mature themes like in vinland, vagabond and berserk there are 3 different themes told in 3 different ways and perspectives but the end result is for the readers or viewers to understand what the author is trying to convey and usually according to me they depict human life and values i.e the big 3 seinen not every seinen has deep topics tho so don't expect something like skip and loafer to hv deep topics as it's also a seinen if u read the big 3 then you'll know what I mean I recommend reading vagabond first tho it's simply amazing.

I agree that sometime anime provides more depth to source material and elevates overall experience. You are reading one piece manga😊 ....right? Same thing goes with one piece. You may think that it's better to read manga in order to catch up current saga but manga can't provide that much. I hope you will try watching one piece or atleast watch enies loby and marine Ford arc even after reading manga. Obviously I can't force anyone to watch or read but i m sure that next 5 years one piece is gonna break the internet hundreds of times. And for the content creators it will be a golden opportunity to catch up.
