So as of right now One Or Eight is the closest thing to XG but they are a 8 member Japanese Boy Group with the intent to go Global.
One or Eight has no association with XG. None of the members know the girls and none of the girls know them. Avex is a very large company with hundreds of artists & groups tied to them in some way (Joint ventures, subsidiaries, distribution deals, and international partners) Simon has cut off most, if not all the Avex employees that worked on XG’s early songs like Xansei (shooting star). Avex helps with funding, but they rarely ever talk about or openly promote XG. XG being “cousins” with One or Eight was spread by a Japanese guy on Twitter that is known for misinformation and clickbait articles.
