@My PlayHouse Thanks for sharing the video. I did the same thing in cleaning out that guck.... lol. Just a piece of advise, our printer can scan multiple sheets, 10, 15, 20 or however pages you need scan. You don't have to scan them just individually, that is time consuming. Happy Holidays to you! ..... Rick
I bought the same printer 4,5 years ago. The original toners are more expensive than a new printer, so i bought cheap knockoffs and never got a decent print out of it again. The most annoying thing about this machine is, if you completely run out of any toner, it wont even make a scan to usb! Terrible... Quick tip: shake the almost empty toners a bit to get some more life out of it.
I've avoided owning a personal printer for the last 20 years as I don't have much probity need. Fun fact: a colleague and me almost turned in to smurfs working on the cyan toner cartridge.
I’ve had a Brother MFC-879DW inkjet since 2013, the WiFi is unusable now but I use the wired connection. The ink for a couple pages a month isn’t much. I estimate I need a new set so f 4 cartridges every year at $50 currently for XL or high yield. Bought a couple of Samsung color lasers for family but Samsung discontinued support so quickly the Win7 drivers were unstable so they’re trash now.
I don't want to sound smart but among the customers I service for my job are customers who purchased a service agreement from Lexmark. One of the things Lexmark tells owners NEVER to do is empty the waste toner bottle. A printer like this Samsung, when you get the new waste toner bottle, it should come capped in a bag. You cap the full waste toner bottle and put it in the bag the empty new one came in. Then you recycle the whole thing (or in the case of Lexmark in the USA, they give you a UPS label to send it to them to recycle).
@@MyPlayHouse You did this your way and it was fine as long as toner never gets dumped down the drain. That said, All I was saying is that the waste toner bottle is a recycle once full part. I don't know why Samsung (and other manufacturers) design waste toner bottles that can be emptied but it's best just to seal/cap the bottle and recycle it. That is all.
Hi Swanley Thank You very much! I do not think the original toner and the copy toner work well together,, I have replaced the Black one after filming,, and it´s better now :-) Thank you for watching! :-)
I have two of the same laser printers and cannot get the software to run them. Windows 10 sucks for old equipment. Keeps telling me its fine but nothing works.
I was offered a few printers for free along with a HP Colour printer (higher end model), the issue was that it needed a part. However, given the nature of printers I passed on the offer.
This Samsung does not have the chip that suddenly tells the printer that the toner is to old, and refuses to print.. I like that,, even it might be what is messing with my blue toner.
i'm sure you have to disposal off the waste toner In a better way.. Love to hear what your viewers have to do with there toner waste and where there from.
Yes,, I just found that old toner can be delivered to our recycling center. I was hoping to do a video refilling them one day, so I kind of hold on to them.

I would stay with that printer for as long as you can, now H.P has grabbed the design i would expect the toner to give more problems. Printers are designed to waste the ink used on purpose, hp may do the same with that samsung. Never do a firmware update, just in case hp wants to start wasting your toner or making the copy cartridge stop working. Printer companys are dishonest :-(

Thank You very much! I would also not say I print very much,, about 100 pages a year, it seams :-)

I have the same printer, thank you for the warning
You are welcome,, as you saw I had done 500-ish prints. I think check it every 2-3000 and it should be fine.

I'm looking at buying a second hand one. What causes this issue? Just the toner? Not the drum?

Was the quality of printing the same as with the original toners after replacing all of them with the compatible ones?
It was as if the quality went down,, when mixing original toners with the compatible ones. But when all was compatible ones,, it was okay.
ALWAYS firmware update network connected stuff! - Most updates are not functional, but security patches.
HP bought Samsung printer division,, so now it a HP firmware,, nahh I will take my chances.

My printer won't print card stock or photo paper. It only prints plain paper? Any thoughts. Thanks

Samsung C480 Color Laser Printer are not bad at all. They working well in some little offices. Don't waste in the water it's toxic for humans.

Don't use hot water or anything else hot with toner as heat (and pressure) is how it melts to the paper.
Yarh that was also my thought. But I do not think my water was hot enough to make it react.
