The exposed tongue is not an off white thing, Nike's been doing that years before
I’m speaking in terms of an Air Jordan. Nike has done fraying on SB pairs but Virgil was the first to bring it to this scale everyone loves now.

I love the swoosh on these! I wish Jordan Brand had used these on all the previous I's the past few years. And I have to disagree, the shoe is PERFECT for Union because of everything you mentioned. Believe they are shoe of the year as well!

Gotta stay real. Typically though, since I am spending my own money here, I buy stuff I like otherwise I wouldn’t waste my time. Some stuff when I receive it in hand gives me different perspective either hate it, so so or good to go. Thanks for checking out the vid and my channel.

I’d be broke. I’m still scrapping for the Black Toes. I feel incomplete not owning the set.
These and the Black Toe are some of the best looking 1's to ever come out, but if I were to change anything it would be swapping the stitched on section so that the Black Toe has the bred upper and the Storm Blue has the silver/white upper. If the Black Toe had the bred upper they would be my 3rd favorite AJ1, right behind the Bred and Chicago.
Honestly you are prob one of few real sneakerhead on RUclips.

@@MSotelo503 Yeah I hate watching shoe reviews from people that hype ever single shoe like its a must cop, it gets stale real quick. MJO23DAN, Nightwing2303 aka weartesters, and Jumpmanbostic are my favorite shoetubers, Mike Rich is great to watch too and theres a few others i keep track of but those are my go to reviewers... i follow and watch unbreakable kicks too but dude cops and hypes like ever single Jordan release, so I find myself watching his channel less and less these days..

I was able to hit on first release on both pairs. Blue storms arrive Monday and black toes on Wednesday. Cant wait. They did an amazing job on these. We always have our opinions on what they could have done what they should have done, but at the end of the day it was his design this what he wanted to go for and I think both pairs look amazing IMO.
You lucked out on the Black Toes. Same order on same day or separate? SNKRS?
@@mjo23dan first union release and separate order. I received blue storm ship confirmation week later, thought they would cancel the black toes but I emailed them about the black toe order and literally shipped them an hour later two days ago. I was crazy lucky cause supposedly people were only allowed to purchase one colorway.
I would’ve put the grey/white uppers on these. I’m not a fan of the black/red with the blue/white.
The shoes are cool. I really liked the sketch details on the tissue and the insoles...that got me excited about it. Side note: The Art of the Dunk poster was my fav growing up...I had that, Hare jordan, the free throw line Dunk...and the first ever retro box cover that they made into a poster.

Sucks. I tried for over an hr to checkout, everytime i clicked pay i got different errors. Super frustrating. The restock was no better

You forgot to touch on the Quality Leather on the shoes tho , toe box, sides, etc where would you rate this shoes in compere with Jordan 1 not for resale ?
I can’t compare to the not for resale since I don’t physically have that shoe. The leather on the Union is superb. It’s worth the $190 they charged.
There is a table side.book it's called "driven from within" and has all drawings from design process I bought it back in 2005 it has art worl from tinker mr.cartoon and the other 5 people that worked on Jordan's
I own the book. I’d want a dedicated book of just Tinker.
if you guys lived in LA and you took the time to go enter the raffle you had a 50% chance of winning a pair, they raffled off about 3000 pairs and had about 6700 people enter, i was able to grab 2 pairs because me and my wife entered and both hit, it was cool to see union really take care of the locals

I like the black toe one better and was even trying to get a pair to sell back to you to put on the channel and try to pay for the concords lol I think a lot of people buy into recency bias when it comes to “of the year” debates.
I agree with the recency bias we seen it with the green gatorade 6s at the end of last year, everyone went crazy over them but personally I always thought the white/orange pair looked better, and all the gatorade 1s looked like shit other then maybe the blue pair... bred 13s, hyper royal 13s, unc 6 and so many more sneakers were better then the green gatorade 6s imo. but if you ask sneakerheads, I think most people would agree that the Jordan of the year last year was either the off white 1s or the gatorade 6s... which personally i wasn't a fan of either, I mean i liked the off white concept but i dont buy retro 1s these days, there just to rough on my feet without any comfort cushioning. We even seen recency bias hypebeasts at the start of this year, when everyone was saying the blue denim levi 4s would/could be the sneaker of the year... which had me scratching my head, since it was the first big release of the year and we didnt even know half of the shoes that would be releasing down the line, so to me it made no sense hyping them as a sneaker of the year only a month or 2 into the year... but thats the way of the game i suppose.
I'm heated I didn't get these cause of that messy release and restock. They're probably my favorite shoe/collab of the year.
I would unstich the blue and black pair and put the red top on it and grey top on it. Way better looking
He did a nice job overall. I would have used the larger Nike swooshes like they used on the low top Jordan 1’s recently.

I tried to get the black toe through the snkr app. Which was a total waste of time. For as long as I've had that app on my phones, I've never hit a draw. Not even trying anymore. The real sneakerheads can't get the good stuff and resellers making a ton of money.

Dope video, I wish they would have used a different box though, jeter low 11s have that box style as well, at least top half,
The top of the boxes are the same, but the union 1s box bottom is styled like an og retro 1 box, which fits perfectly with the shoes cut and stitched design elements, having two boxes mashed together... Honestly the box is the icing on top of the cake it completes the whole collab imo.

These 33s were so refreshing.
Well if people aren’t buying the product then the price is going to go down. Right now on Stockx you can get the Stealth 33 for just about retail but who knows. I’d monitor it a few more weeks.

Let’s be honest with this release, this is a hypebeast shoe. Had this release been a GR, this shoe would’ve been on no ones radar this serious.
Well it’s an “NRG” release so if you understand what that means and the collaboration between Union and Jordan, then you’d understand. Some of the NRG stuff isn’t for everyone and that’s okay.
“Nrg” just means “Energy” and the collab between Chris Gibbs and Jordan Brand is just Chris’s take on vintage things like clothes and shoes, which what high brand brands are doing now at the time like Gucci and Balenciaga just to name a few. But what I’m getting at is for example, the Air Jordan 1 KO’s with the fake aging midsoles and how you had more people not appreciating & even had videos showing how to remove the vintage look from the shoe’s mid & outsole. But you’re right, everything’s not meant for everybody.
It’s just a different time now.

Love the concept, but not the execution... personally im getting sick of this sail/cream/off white thats Jordans been doing this year, I passed on a few shoes this year solely because of the forced vintage look being so poorly executed... I don't mind the vintage look on shoes when done right like the orange gatorade 6s from last year were perfect with there dirty almost vintage icy bottom look that they used, but if your gonna do a vintage concept then you've got to go all the way, I dont want none of this half ass stuff Jordans been cranking out lately. If your gonna pull inspiration from vintage style elements, you've got to make it the entire shoe, not just bits and pieces... having cream/off white mixed with a pure white looks like garbage! they did it on the tinker 6s this year too, which would've been a cop for me had they went all out with the cream or just stuck to pure white but mixing the two will never look right/good to me and in my opinion its nothing less then lazy designing... to have half the shoe featuring vintage style elements and half the shoe have bright vibrant colors is poor design.
This marks another great 2018 shoe concept that ill passing on because of a poorly executed vintage look.
Great in depth review of the sneaker though, your one of my favorite shoetubers to watch.
