Aloha, That Old Goat's Vinyl Cool those Charlie Brown Thick glass Cups. Wow ! Dan I thought you had every Christmas record album imaginable already. Lol... That 1957 red vinyl awesome... Thanks for the tip on the Beatles album Old vs New. Always enjoyed watching your videos... I also enjoyed listening to that Reel-To-Reel tape you played of Eric Burdon & The Animals & that Reel-To-Reel sound system sounds amazing! Always looking forward to watching your videos... Mahalo Ed
Had to check my other Christmas album year, yellow vinyl Christmas LP is from 1958. I don't have all the Christmas albums but I'm working on it. I'm sure some audiophile would have a different opinion on the Beatles LP. I only have about 30 RtoR tapes but they do sound great.
Yeah, the one that George’s son Giles did, he took the original 4 track recordings, put them on a computer. So there was no ping ponging like they had to do back in the day, no loss of sound. So you can hear more going on sometimes. But yes, some analog magic is gone, but still an enjoyable listen. Hey, check out that Spyro Gyro album Japanese pressing. There’s a different cover! Nice cooking!
Nanci is a total Peanuts lover too. I found her a set of Charlie,Lucy,Linus & Snoopy 9” plastic dolls vintage 60’s. Nice find. Lucky for me she’s gone to peanuts anonymous! Took a chance at our local Good Will. Man tons of wasted crude oil! As for your new/old segment (which I like) sounds to me you remastered that lp. Cool. I’ve got my mono copy and I’d say that’s an even more impressive mix of Sgt. Pepper. My opinion only. Good goin. 🖖🚀
Yes Charlie Brown can be a rabbit hole. Most records at Goodwill really needs to go to recycling. Glad you like the old new segment. I haven't come across a mono version of that record yet.
"1957 pressing on red vinyl. Heck ya". Not to make that great find about me. But I have another Christmas album from right around the same time on red vinyl. Maybe red was the only color that they had to use back then besides black. {smile} Wow. Those Charlie Brown drinking glasses are nice. Super update Don. Agree. Fragile is an amazing album. Good to see that the cassette sounds so great~ Rob/Boston
I have one from 1958 "Christmas At Our House" translucent yellow vinyl. People will look back at our current time and say "hey I found an album on black vinyl!" LOL.
Colored vinyl goes back over 100 years however, in 1949 when RCA records first introduced the 7" single, they were on colored vinyl. Each color represented a different genre of music. Red records with a red label ("RCA Red Seal") were classical records...Black records with a blue label ("Persian Peacock") were popular music or "pop" records...Green records with a green label ("Quad Green") were "country & western" records. Yellow records with a blue label ("Flemish Blue") were "children's" records...Blue records ("Midnight Blue") with a blue label ("Rocket Blue") were considered "popular classics" and "show tunes"..."R&B", "Gospel" or "Blues" aka "Race" records were red ("Cerise") with a gray ("Slate Gray") label and finally, "International" records were blue (Sky-Blue") with a black label. A few years ago I learned that vinyl records are translucent by nature, black is added. Apparantly, it's believed to have the best sound quality.
Those Peanuts glasses are the best VC Goodwill finds of the year. I love Nancy and Sluggo; she has changed a bit in recent years. Aunt Fritzi really changed a lot. 05:05 "...chances are...." Good one Don. Did you plan that reference to Johnny's hit song, or did he get into your head subliminally? lol Torturing yourself with those Beatles records. lol Whatever you do, don't let anyone know you picked the new version over the original. (more lol) Rock on Don!
@@thatoldgoatsvinyl Blame it on Mathis. He wormed his way into your head. Now you'll probably have to spend a couple days listening to nothing besides Johnny. lol
Those Peanuts glasses would be good to drink beer out of. Just saying. 1957 colored vinyl? Very cool. Maybe with your new versus old, you could take sex symbols from our and compare them to ones today? Just a thought lol. Take care Don
I am learning so much about engineering of pressings as well as care and maintenance of albums here. 🎉 Thanks

I collect Snoopy holiday versions. I want to get the Halloween one this year.
I've been looking at those, they are cool!
Great video. And you end with commander cody and the lost planet airmen.
thanks Tony, Cody was cool🍻
Deck the halls with poison ivy! Fa, la, la, la, la!
...and that explosive death-bomb you created would blow me into smithereens! Yikes!
If you touch it you'll be sorry
Fa la la la la la la la la
