Freddy Mckinney is his name...................... He is a hero and he saved this family from their worst nightmare.
I watched it live as it was happening. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Freddy is a hero.
@@sky173 I know. It was humbling to see the tornado, frightening when he said there are people, petrifying to see the mom running for him begging for help with her injured baby in her arms, another injured child and injured dad running to Freddy. Pup running with them. Hearing all of it in the car was unbelievable. But most of all, SOOOO darned proud of Freddy, his composure the entire time.. I was so proud to be a subscriber to his channel. Freddy was so focused on getting them help and fast I think he forgot the live stream was running. Once it shut off, I switched to Connor's channel. He was heading for Freddy at the hospital. Once there and he found him word came another tornado might be dropping from the storm and heading right for the hospital. All I could do was pray Lord please no. Connor went to check the storm and he kept saying please no. Once he saw the storm was moving out he radioed back to Freddy letting him know they were safe there. Hearing Freddies voice, I knew the reality of what had just happened was hitting him. Connor must have sensed it as well because he said he was going to end the live and go be with Freddy. Today, Freddy was riding with Connor chasing storms. What a day.......... Freddy is a hero, blessing, angel and a million other things all wrapped in one. I watch Ryan Hall and found Freddy a while back from his channel. I saw Ryan donated $10,000 to the familes go fund me and also commented to Freddy on X praising his heroic actions. I am a proud subscriber of Ryan as well.
Yes. He’s a good guy 😊
@@lilbitofjoy6130 I was watching Connor's stream and worried that Freddie had been hit, the first reports were that he was missing and they were afraid he was in trouble. To see Freddie's video of that rescue just made me cry. That guy's a true hero in every sense of the word and is very indicative of so many of the chasers who will stop and help, comb through rubble, and drive crazy miles to a hospital to get people help who need it. I'm a huge fan of Ryan's as well and a member of the Y'all Squad.
Same.
Give the credit to Freddy Mckinney, who went out of his way to look for survivors and then drove them for miles to the nearest hospital. He is a true hero and best storm chaser ever!
Yes watched this happen live, Freddy is a good guy. God put him at the right place
Proud of him and many other chasers for going above and beyond for total strangers. Heros!
@@ToastyCoronet Same here. My wife and I were in shock as we watched live.
yes!
It must be just heartbreaking to see your children and family being hurt and not being able to stop it !!! I feel so bad for them !! Thank God they are all alive !!! ❤️🙏👍💯
"How did they even know we were at the hospital"? Because, sweetie... the storm chaser that rescued you was Live Streaming at the time. We're all so thankful you are all okay! ❤
yeah, coz nobody does a good deed anymore without monetizing it, right?
@@Marcel_Audubonand thankful for that!!!!
@@Marcel_Audubon I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic, or just believe there are no good people in the world any more. What Freddie (the chaser) did was awesome, and he sure wasn't thinking about his YT when he pulled in to save these folks. She had no idea why so many people showed up at the hospital to show support for her and her family... I was just saying why.
Could someone post that link to the livestream. Thanks so much!
I was watching the stream live and Freddy McKinney was focused on helping the family. McKinney's father called him as he was driving the family to the hospital and asked him if he wanted to end the stream and Freddy said yes. The stream was stopped remotely from his computer at home, as Freddy was talking with the family and driving them the hospital. A few minutes later the stream was "unlisted" (only a direct link could view and not on his page listing) and then the stream was made "private" after that so it can't be viewed at all.
Thank you Freddy Mckinney for helping this family. I was watching it live.
Yeah, me too, and it was totally wild. Thankful the family survived. I was watching Connor Croff at the same time too. I think a lot of people do that, but then both guys were chasing in the same car last night. lol
I was watching live too! I switch from Max Velocity to Connor Croft to Freddy McKinney! It was just heartbreaking to watch!
Reed Timmer picked up a couple and their dog the other day in Texas when their truck was flipped. Brandon Copic and Vince Waelti were some of the first chasers to arrive in Sulphur, OK and they immediately went into search and rescue efforts too. I was watching both of those live...thank goodness these chasers are out there.
Yes I watched Vince and Brandon; I wasn’t sure I thought Brandon took ppl too
And Vince is always helping ppl and I know he’s an emt as well
I always thought storm chasers were nuts. I NEVER thought of this side of it! Thanks Freddy for being a brave storm chaser!
They go into rescue mode when homes are destroyed. Especially in rural areas where help is not near.
The good ones make sure they have supplies, chainsaws, food, water, basic medical supplies. because they know & have seen the ugly side of storms. They are truly amazing souls
Not saying Freddy isn’t good, he’s amazing. I was watching him & his friend connor when this happened. I was in shock, holding my 3 month old. I can’t imagine how terrified they were in the moment.
Storm chasers are alotnof time the first responders after a tornado. The good ones, Freddy showed his heart is for the people, not just the chase! Thank God he was on the tornado and able to be there for them in their moment of need!
The pros have SAR training and have supplies. I didn’t realize they did this, either.
Yes, storm chaser Freddy McKinney is a hero and saved this family. Thousands of people including me were watching this devastating tornado live via the storm chasers on RUclips. That must have been why many people showed up at the hospital so fast.
Most definitely.
Is he a “hero” though? Did he substantially risk himself in order to help the family? Or did he just drive? And he was already out driving anyway. Right?
@@iMatti00 God bless your heart...be nice.
@@iMatti00 Chasers are dodging, weaving around, running parallel to, and even getting clipped/hit by tornados. They are certainly risking their lives, and are routinely the first people on scene when civilians get hit. They are absolutely heros.
@@iMatti00yea. He's a hero. He could have continued his chase. He chose to look for people and help them.
Freddy McKinney is a hero for this. THIS is why we need storm chasers. They’re usually some of the first on the scene. Thank goodness he was where he was when he was. So glad this family was able to get the help they needed. And I am so sorry they had to deal with this. It is absolutely terrifying and devastating.
Is he a “hero” though? Did he substantially risk himself in order to help the family? Or did he just drive? And he was already out driving anyway. Right?
@@iMatti00 I’m sure to the family he was. I know I’d view him as that. The people who helped me and my family in this exact situation are to us. It doesn’t matter why they were there or if they put themselves in danger or not to help, they stopped, and they helped. I could have lost more than three family members that day if it weren’t for people like Freddy. So yeah. He is in my eyes.
@@iMatti00 um yes he is a hero. I watched the stream when it happened. He thought it hit a house and checked to see if they were people, rushed them into the car, even made sure they had their dog, contacted authorities, rushed them to the hospital, and sat with their dog while they were being treated till their other family members showed up. Those chasers also donated a lot of $$ to the family’s go fund me. Believe it or not but there are genuinely good people in this world
The state needs to let storm chasers use armored trucks for their 7 hour chase armored trucks that can go 80mph reed Timmerman can handle them
There's many swat trucks or military trucks sitting around that storm chasers can use for 7 hours and return them the same day or next day after a hotel near end of chase
Let me add, Freddy was so cool and calm in the chaos. He handled that like a professional first responder. He got them to the hospital quick.
Yea definitely. He was awesome. And the parents did also a great job in comforting their children even when having been in total shock and pain. What a wonderful family and what an amazing storm chaser ❤❤❤
Chasing storms probably helps with that resolve. If you can chase giant vortexes of destruction willingly, a car ride seems pretty feasible.
@@ugib8377 But seeing kids badly hurt can make you emotional, some handle things differently than others, Freddy did a good job,
@@SaltySouthTexan that's a fair point.
God bless Freddy McKinney for being there
Thank God for Freddy Mckinney for getting this precious family to safety!
If one reads the bible one will see that Yahweh is the Jewish/Christian God. If one goes back to ancient text one will discover the Yahweh is the God of storms and war. STORMS and WAR.........and we are one nation under that god. STORMS AND WAR.......doesnt that just about sum up what the USA is?
I watched this live. It literally was like a miracle. There was nobody around for miles. Then he drove further and it’s like it was pulled by some other force around the corner to see them. Without hesitation he said get in!! This dude drove them like he was guided to the hospital. He actually drove right by the Tornado again to get them to safety. The mom was a true hero. She was in pain but carried her kid ran with her kid to the car and kept calm the whole ride. She was strong and she deserves all the spoils and strength she can get. They even brought there dog. I hope the other pets are safe too. This was the wildest thing I’ve seen on live stream. Thousands of people saw this so I imagine they are the ones that showed up to the hospital to give support.
It was surreal.
I was going between him, Vince, Connor, and Corey. Once he got on the nado down that road, it was intense. Then, when he said there were people, it was like wtf. They were fortunate he was there. They had nothing.
@@RAWJimmy Yesss. I just couldn’t believe there were houses. They really did emerge from rubble. So glad they are safe.
Second dog has been found. I think it was a cousin of the family that said both dogs were at the vet.
@@lilbitofjoy6130 Thank goodness. My dog is my world so makes me feel good to know they are getting cared for.
@@JLBREMER I was watching the storm chaser live when it happened. Freddy Mckinney is his name. Once the tornado was in front of him, he started moving in to assess etc and when he was driving down the road the mom was running towards him injured baby in her arms begging him to help them. You could literally still see the tornado when he got to them. Right behind her was one of their dogs running behind her. Behind the dog was another injured child and the dad was struggling to make it to the car. Freddy told them get in the car. They loaded in the car and he got the dog in the car as well and off to the hospital he rushed. Second dog was found later on. Both dogs have been treated at the vet and last I heard, they are ok. Family has some injuries with the little boy being the worst. He was ripped from their arms and thrown approx 25 feet. It was horrific watching it happen on his live feed for sure.Bless Freddy Mckinney for being right there at the right time to help them within minutes and get them help quickly.
That poor little boy is completely traumatized. I hope they are able to get help emotionally as well as physically and financially. Sweet baby.😭❤
I am hoping the same as you, at times it is hard for very religious Christians to benefit from medical emotional care from experts..not saying this is the case with this young child's family.
That young man/child still looks in shock. Can not imagine his mind getting over the traumatic experience of being sucked out of his family’s arms. I pray for healing not only physically but emotionally for the whole family. God bless them. 🙏🏼🙏🏼💔
Look at his face. Poor guy looks like he's been through Hell.
Now put into perspective how the families in Jarrell, Tx were dismembered in their homes by the F5 tornado that hit back in 1997.
@@wadewilson8011what??? Sweet Lord no. 😢
That's a child not a man at all
I was one of the thousands who watched this live. Freddy McKinney deliberately went down their road once he saw housing debris to see if anyone was hurt so he could help-immediately abandoning his desire to continue his chase. Thankfully he did because the mom came running toward him with her little girl in her arms, her bloodied son following behind, and the dad limping to keep up. Before taking off for the hospital, McKinney told them to call their dog to the car. It was truly a heroic and selfless act.
Poor sweet boy. I am so glad he’s okay! What a brave little dude 💙
The storm chaser was streaming live, I was one watching it when he pulled up to their house and she came running. That is how people knew, they were watching it live.
Can you post a link for the rest of us. Thank you so much. 💕
@TapIntoAlignment The video was made private about 10 minutes after the live stream ended
His tears popping out like tiny diamonds from his stoic face...instant tears for me.
His agony in the car ride makes this clip heavenly. Glad he survived. It was hard to watch the live stream and hear him. What a trooper.
So very thankful Freddy McKinney stopped to check and see if anyone was hurt right after it happened. There is a go fund me started for the family.
Please put up the go fund me info for the family and for the storm chaser, he deserves funds for his storm chasing
I understand the family not knowing or remembering Freddy McKinney's name....they were still in shock. But I find it extremely disappointing that the news team didn't take the extra step to research Freddy's name. He dropped everything he was doing, and he got those people and their dog to the hospital as quickly as he could instead of just waiting for an ambulance....no questions asked. And the reason so many people already knew that they were at the hospital was because of Freddy's stream. He had about 12k people watching when he rescued them. I was one of them, and it was the first time a live stream brought me to tears. Thank God that he put Freddy in the right place at the right time!! 🙏 And God bless this family 🙏
To the news station - the next time you want to air a story about a family's incredible survival during a tragedy, how about you include the name of the person who was the most instrumental in getting these people the immediate help that they needed.
I agree. They should have given credit to Freddie on this broadcast. He was a major player in this story.
Thank you! I thought I was the only one where this just hit wrong to me and his name and part in it was just glossed over!
Conner Croff went looking for Freddy, too and dropped his chase to go make sure the family had everything they needed and Freddy was okay.
Is the livestream video still on his channel?
Thank God for that chaser being in the right place at exactly the right time.God bless this family and all the familys devistated by these tornadoes
My heart is moved by this mother and son telling us about what happened to their family during the tornado. The son must be the pride of his mom and dad. I pray that the daughter and husband are healing physically and emotionally, too.
Freddy McKinney-storm chaser is one of the best. Such a kind hearted person. I am so grateful that God put him there at that time to help you and your family. Prayers for peace and a speedy recovery. God be with you.
I watched their rescue live on Freddy McKinney’s stream
It was incredible.
Everyone try to help this family's lives we are Texans!
I would love to know how to donate to them. God, watching this, especially seeing the little boy all bruised up in one eye, and his Momma sharing their miracle survival story is heart wrenching. God bless the storm chasers, and whomever Freddy McKinney is, may God pour his blessings and protection on him and the people involve in helping all families in need.🙏
Praying 🙏🏻 for this sweet precious boy and his family. They’re all so brave. Lord please heal them to your perfect peace and health. In Jesus name Amen. ❤️🕊

Freddy McKinney is a true hero.
I was watching him live while this happened. Freddy McKinney, truly a hero.
That poor little boy looks like he's still in shock. God bless all of you in healing!
Freedy McKinney is the storn chasers name
I was watching all of this go down live on Freddy's live stream. It was like something out of a movie, yet immensely more horrifying. I don't think you may ever know how many thousands of people were cheering you on and praying for you.
I was praying for this family all through the night. I will continue to pray for their emotional and physical healing. Praise God for sparing their lives, that house was completely demolished.

I was watching live..it was an amazing rescue!
Poor baby. What a strong soul he has.🥺
This is absolutely terrifying, and my worst nightmare, minus everybody survived, thats a HUGE blessing. That poor kid has the eyes of a soldier tho it likely wont last like it does for them...
what a trooper
Oh my Lord ,her son was so hurt. God helping him to heal faster. God bless him. 🙏
My goodness, I watched this live. So glad this family is doing ok. Well done Freddy Mckinney for saving them and getting them to the hospital. He was so calm throughout. He's a true hero.
Freddy was a fricken angel I watched that live and I was shaking I am so glad you’re okay!!
that poor baby crying silently like that he seemed so calm i was almost shocked when i saw the tear bless him i hope things get better.
That poor sweet baby!!!🙏
Bless this family and all the others. That sweet boy took such a beating, I can't imagine.
I was watching this live, I'm so glad the family are ok, I was so worried 😢
GIVE CREDIT TO FREDDY MCKINNEY!
This had me in tears. I'm a grown ass man, and I'm balling over here. God is so good. He set this child on that bed of insolation and made sure he lived through this impossible event. I pray that this family will bounce back quickly from this tragedy.
Never, not even once they mentioned his name or channel... That's the thank you he got...
GOD BLESS THIS FAMILY!!!! 🙏🏾💖🙏🏾💖
Brave little boy
Watched this live, so glad everyone will be ok. Freddy was right where God needed him to be. Prayers for everyone!
I saw the Livestream when this family was rescued. The son bloodied and the father holding his broken arm. It was heart breaking to see it unfold on my tv & i could only hope and pray they'd all be okay after the Livestream ended. So glad to know they are all being taken care of & are healing. What an incredible story.
SO glad to hear they’re going to be ok. Watching it live, my granddaughter was in tears, my wife was in tears, my old ass was tearing up. The little boy was COVERED in blood and he said “I don’t feel right” . I dang near broke down. I thought he was gonna have a TBI. He’s beat up, but he seems like he’s gonna be ok.
I saw it live too. Most storm chasers help before police or medics get there. They do not move on until authorities get there and when it is devastating they may even come back after raising funds on their channel to help those who need help. There are whole communities of people who support the people who need the basics to just get started again. And some crews even supply man power to help.
Lane you are an exceptional young man. Your family is loved and our family here in Dallas is very happy and thankful your magnificent family made it through this. We don’t know you, but we love you guys, especially the two young troopers.
*I'd like to use the Lambert's story to promote a key tornado safety precaution that is not always communicated.*
1. The overwhelming majority of life-changing injuries to victims of a tornado are injuries to the head caused by flying debris & collapsing walls/roofs.
2. Since large hail driven by strong winds can blast through windows & even through walls & roofs, and it can cause serious injuries to the head.
3. These sorts of threats are especially concerning for infants & children, because their skulls tend to be thinner, more flexible & less capable of resisting impacts.
4. So, every house should have enough hard helmets for every person to wear when dangerous weather approaches. It can be a baseball, hockey, or football helmet...they all are designed to protect the head from intense impacts. (....a hockey helmet with a face shield would probably be ideal..) The helmets should be stored where they can be accessed immediately when severe weather approaches, along with thick blankets & mattresses which can help protect the body.
Good points there. 🤔👍
And SHOES!
@@the.nerdy.mermaid Yes! Good point! :)
@@the.nerdy.mermaid SERIOUS shoes, like hiking boots. Consider what you may have to climb through, and cover those ankles. Then don't forget some tough gloves that cover your wrists. Even if you're not participating in search and rescue, if you stumble in debris and fall forward onto your hands, you need them protected from splintered wood, torn metal, broken glass, exposed nails, et cetera. Keep them all together in or near your safe spot when you aren't using them for other things.

Oh my gosh that sweet baby’s tears. I am so glad they are ok god bless them
This happened to me and my son last year on March 31st. We were thrown from our home by an ef3. We were extremely lucky. I understand what this mother is going through. PTSD is real and we still are coping. Once the wounds heal please seek therapy for the family. ❤
Absolutely terrifying what you went through. I was ten years old in 1965 when I endured the wrath of a tornado going through our farm. You never ever get complacent when storms roll around. It sticks with you for life. Your life changes within seconds.
That baby!! Omg! We only have one and I can’t imagine seeing him looking like that. Poor kids, thank God they’re alive
Freddy picked them all up, & told them get the dog too! He took them to the hospital & sat with the dog, while they were being treated, until family came.
